Thanks for your comment. The main reason was, and still is, that you can use both tops. The SOft and the hardtop. With the softtop you can also open it in times you don't carry anythink on the roof. The other reason is the strength of the roof rack as it is mounted to the frame in the back and to the A pilar in the front. After 3 plus years of use and abuse it's still strong.

so only 4 bolts securing the RTT?
12 bolts on the Alucap and 8 Bolts on the roof rack. This is more than enough. 😂
