Just for the record, I do think the criticism of Radahn being reused is fair, even if I PERSONALLY enjoy it. I think I would have been more "in awe" if we saw something like Godwyn out of the blue, but oh well I'm still happy with the fight we got
This is so refreshing, providing the pros, cons and things you wanted differently without resorting to negativity and blaming the game. I do agree that part of the reception is bitterness that will die just like it died with the base game. This might be the only community where it's controversial to enjoy one of the most critically acclaimed expansions in one of the most awarded games of all time. It's insane.
Thanks man, and yeah these were my off-the-cuff feelings after beating the last boss of the DLC, I thought it was SO good! I think much of the overall negativity is just initial stubbornness of people who are resistant to new things/change tbh lol I've seen a few other reviews that are similar, pointing out some justified negatives while maintaining that it the DLC is overall excellent. Any review that pretends the DLC is OVERALL bad strikes me as spoiled behavior
@@inanis_exe depends. Saying it has flaws is undeniable, but for some those flaws are enough to hinder the enjoyment, while for others they are so minor that they don't affect the grading at all. Personally, I would love more stuff to do in a few of the areas, but it's still pretty much a 10/10
@@inanis_exe AGREED BROTHER (actual), I think the DLC is great and is amazing overall but I'm not gonna pretend it's perfect, definitely a few things they could have done better but it's still so damn good.
I agree on every point, especially the furnace golems. Hiding key items behind them was kind of annoying as well, because the fights just aren’t fun. They felt like a boss from a Bethesda game, where they’re just boring bullet-sponge type bosses.
Yeah exactly, like as I'm effortlessly jumping over each flaming stomp I'm thinking "guys, I've clearly got the moveset down, he's not gonna hit me... this fight can end now."
I gave it a solid 9. It would be a 10 if the final end boss didn't feel rushed. I mean seriously, with all the great DLC fights I've experienced, Artorias, Fume Knight, Gael, Sister Friede, Isshin.. my expectations were really high but I was disappointed with the movesets and lack of variety and ryhthm in the final phase.
Personally I enjoyed the final fight, and I didn't hate seeing Radahn again but I think I would have been more excited with another character for sure, so agreed there
@@lexdtv I don't mind Radahn as well, I like him. I just didn't like how confined his movesets and overall rhythm was. I would love to see him in three phases, first with swords, then his great bow and then with Miquella, Twin Princes style, the same way they did with Slave Knight Gael or Sister Friede
8/10. New weapons are unbalnced for pvp to the point that both arena and invasions are worse than before. The map is somewhat confusing. Chests with smithingstones in them and not enough new enemies.
...honestly, totally reasonable take. I agree on most points, though I WILL say that almost every DLC in the past was similar when it came to the weapons needing to be rebalanced, which they eventually did so I'm hopeful! Yeah as far as the map goes, I wish they took advantage of the "show underground" button since it was so vertical? And yeah it was slightly disappointing seeing so many smithing stones but at the same time I think it was generous to give us a bunch to make upgrading new weapons a bit easier.
@@lexdtv previous dlc's mistakes does not make the current ones any better. In comparison, sure but serving me half spoiled food twice just doesnt cut it. Still pretty cool stuff :)
@@chinup3253 true but I think it must overall just be hard to predict how players are gonna use and push the boundaries of certain weapons, I figure it's hard to balance right out the gate. Still, waitin' for that damn Blind Spot nerf
Gameplay was good as always. Some lore stuff left me feeling unsatisfied but that’s what happens when you try to explain everything, I think. Especially origin stories. Never satisfying for me. Those fingers, lol

Love the content thanks for the help

Yeah I was REALLY hoping for some Godwyn, though I was seeing his face pop up a lot in the DLC... Maybe next DLC? D:
I just came off Malenia into the DLC. Comparatively majority of this DLC is extremely manageable. lol
Right? I don't think I spent as much time on any one boss in the DLC as I did that one on my first playthrough lol
