Nice reminds me of Dale Charman on the Piccadilly line Sarah on the Bakerloo Line and Richard Griffin on the Metropolitan Line
👍 Richard was one of my instructors when i transferred to the met.
@@traindrivergamer4279 OK he is a good driver do you only drive the met line
@@Dani331 yes only met line, i was on the northern line before. Only drivers that drive more than 1 line are circle and hammersmith & city line drivers as they drive both those lines.
@@traindrivergamer4279 OK if you see Dale Charman driving the piccadilly line between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge say hi to him
@@traindrivergamer4279the section between Baker Street and Finchley Road is one of my favourites because of the tunnels and the cars curve
Gorgeous skies. My favourite time to be awake, before the city truly wakes up. Thanks for the ride and the gen.
It is quite peaceful :) glad you enjoyed the video.
Excellent commentary. Very informative/educational. Thank you!
thank you, glad you enjoyed the video.
Really nice and informative video. I like the commentary along with it. Its good to see the whole journey early in the morning like this, thanks for filming and sharing it
Glad you enjoyed the video 😁👍
That motor sound is quite melodious when slowing down haha.
I think it's great that TfL are allowing more and more of you to film whilst driving.
Are you in a similar position to @DaleCharmanTravels on the Picc Line, that you are only licensed for the Met Line?
More local line agreements than TFL but yeah its good we can show what the job entails. Yes once you move onto a line your licence is only for that line if you move to another line its line and stock training again followed by a final exam and road test.
Brilliant mate, I used to be a guard on the northern line
I heard about those times from some of the drivers who were guards first that their white shirts were not white long in the tunnels 😁
Really enjoyed this video. Thank you very much.
glad you enjoyed it 😁👍
Another great informative video, thank you
👍 glad you enjoying the content.
It's the commentary that makes it so enjoyable. Which line is the line of choice for most driver?
Great Video
cheers! glad you enjoyed the video 👍
Nice Video!
👍
I think driving to signals is better, but I do like the SID telling you the target speeds. I just hope when the open sections get CBTC, they don't end up slower
Some may be slower as quite a few sections in the CBTC area are slower than when we drove in tripcock mode to lineside signals.
@@traindrivergamer4279 On the Jubilee and Northern line it always seems to give the highest speed available. If running early it holds at the station
Another great video mate but I’m curious is there a cut out in the train that stops you opening the doors by accident on the ‘wrong’ side?
glad you enjoyed the video. Yes there is a system called CSDE or correct side door enable which stops us from opening on wrong side. However if we was to not stop correctly at a station lined up with the chevron markers say stop just past them then we would have to use the emergency open override which if done wrong could open the doors on wrong side thats why theres a set process for doing it including only opening the cab door on the platform side so we know which side we have to override to open.
Great video! Thanks for recording. Hey I was watching an LT safety film from I think the early 80’s. One part was instructing drivers on the correct use of short circuit bars to cut power off where the train has stopped. I assume this is no longer a driver duty and you don’t carry short circuit bars in the cab? Looked a bit dicey. 😮
glad you liked the video. Yes we do still use those devices. They are called SCD's or short circuiting device and they are used to discharge current in an emergency as a last resort and also once current is off for an incident then these are laid at either end of train or just one end depending on whats happening. they are in cabs of all lu trains.
Thanks. Now that does surprise me. Hope the design has improved. The ones from the 70’s and 80’s looked very dodgy.
@@vjet much better quality now 😊
It's because the signaling system gives target speeds in KMH but converts it to MPH on the SID, that's why there is odd target speeds like 29 mph. So I was told
Correct
Just you keep 'babbling on' as you put it. Your 'babble' is highly informative to us underground nerds! LOL. Great video thanks. Please keep them coming. All the best.
Thank you for that! It's good to know my babbling on is appreciated 😁
Great video. May I suggest you get an extrenal microphone for your camera? At times, it's hard to hear you over the melodies of the train 😊
@@kiwi_got_wings its where the camera is positioned, on the s stock the drivers windscreen has limited places to put the camera but am working on a fix. Cheers
how do i go about getting a official cab ride on the Metropolitan Line I'm interested in seeing the New CBTC section do i contact TfL thought TfL support ?
yes email tfl customer services and they should put your request to the relevant people.
@@traindrivergamer4279 I even tried doing that for another line, but they don't even respond. And when they do, they send me some unprofessional confusing form.
Good job 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😂😂😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

thank you for the video. can you do chesham fast? thats my favorite route on the metropolitan line. thanks again.
Glad you liked the video, i am on annual leave at the moment and when i am back it will depend on my duties when i next get a fast chesham but chesham in the daylight is next on list to record as only recorded there at night.
@@traindrivergamer4279 at your leisure man. Thank you.🙂
@@magicmasterfan1 👍
Great video, why are there breaks in the rails every so often?
traction current sections, as we pass substations on the line theres a break in the current rails and then onto the next section powered by that substation.
Very good video but can we have station names on screen or you say which station your entering
@@michaeltee5453 thanks. I have been looking for software to add the station names if you or anyone seeing this comment has some ideas please let me know. Cheers 👍🏻
I'm working S- Stock at the weekend for the first time in almost 18 months 😅.
@@jfs0996 more testing?
@traindrivergamer4279 No mate. Full Software upgrade, so we've got to re- enter the S7s on the District at Barking, High Street Ken, Lillie Bridge and Triangle. The Met will have all this to come at Ricky, Uxbridge, and Watford.
@@jfs0996 ah fair enough 👍🏻
