Yeah, he got a few extra vils that will slowly pay dividends (60 resources extra per minute, so it will start being a good investment for the tc even though he lost it in just a few minutes). The TC also gets to kill a few hoplites for a bit value.
That third migdol by the gold mine, your instinct to pull away from the hoplites with the chariot archers looked to be what killed it. You could have tolerated a bit of damage on the chariot archers to keep the migdol alive, instead that hoplite damage went into the migdol and killed it.
