I kinda disagree on Phoenix's theme choice. If anything the AA3 objection theme is closely associated to Mia, or even pretty much being her theme. AA3's ending ultimately build up to Phoenix standing on his own with him no longer leaning on Mia's assistance in dire situations, which AA3 nailed absolutely by using Phoenix's original AA1 Pursuit theme during the finale. Mia bids Phoenix farewell for good after AA3 because she taught him everything she could and he no longer needs her help at this point, being skilled enough of a lawyer to be self-sufficient. That's why his theme being the AA3 theme since DD rubs me wrong since it kinda throws off the message of AA3 by a constant callback to his mentor rather than himself.

you know i like that towards the beginning of the series that objection themes exude the idea of "oh shit we might be onto something here" but then the later entries are more like "yeah that's right. your testimony sucks!". Very fitting for the growth of the PCs over the series.
True~ In the original trilogy, it still sounds 'simple', and makes you want to lean forward to focus. From Dual Destinies and so on, it just makes you smile, like you've been spotting holes in testimonies for a living, and you know you're good at it.

the 2001 one has a certain vibe that the others couldn't replicate. apollo's ost is arguably one of the most underrated one in the franchise (considering many people didn't like apollo justice). Phoenix's theme evolution especially in DD was arguably a hype inducing one as it demonstrated the evolution of phoenix from simple lawyer to the legendary attorney and mentor he is.
The 2001 one makes you get this feeling like the killer accidentaly contradicted themselves and now the flood gates are open for suspicions. It gives off the reeling like you are saying: " *person* you just said *something* but you also said *something* these two things dont mix with the timeline you gave us." Or something along those lines.
i dont know why some people say that they dont like the strings and layers of instruments in TGAA soundtracks. i personally think its the best part about the games, the way they use leitmotifs is just genius and despite all the use of orchestral instruments, they still manage to pull of a "mechanic" sound for Iris, a "strong and bold" sound for Kazuma and so on for Ryutaro, Sholmes and even the side characters like Gregson are just really noticeable and memorable. i love the TGAA soundtrack (along with the entire game) and hold it very dear to my heart.
I respect the craft put into it but it just doesn't hit that hard for me idk. I don't find the tracks very memorable. I prefer how melodically strong the earlier soundtracks are
Apollo's original objection theme in AA4 sounds the best, imo. That certain "vibe" in his theme got lost in later games due to the addition of rock elements and the likes. A lot of OSTs in AA4 give off a "brown sound", if you get what I mean, and I love it!
I personally love the 2016 remix. I remember very clearly when I heard it while playing and was trying to figure out what changed to make it sound so good.
The theme is evolving, like the character! He's not that same rookie we have met in the first game. He have to deal with doubts with his friend and even fight his own boss! Same for Phoenix and Athena themes!
Yea, Apollo's original objection theme is the best one. The newer themes are meh compared. They just don't hit as hard, though Athena's is fine (probably since it's not a remix of previous objection themes)
I can safely bet that Mia's motif is basically the 'mentor' theme. It becoming Phoenix's (and then some more instrumental changes) really shows his growth into the mentor role by Dual Destinies. Also also, Mia's theme remains pretty lowkey, but Phoenix's has the slow buildup, which I can say is the journey he's had? I love the changes between the two themes, it makes them unique to the characters.
Apollo Justice has the best soundtrack out of any of the AA games, with the exception of the objection theme.AJ is really good, but Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice are tied for the best objection theme.
Love the fact that Phoenix's objection theme in DD & SOJ is Trials and Tribulations' one remixed. Like, that theme is originally more like Mia's actual objection theme and he effectively followed her legacy. Also, both Investigations 2009 and 2011 are awesome.
Although I like the objection themes 2013 and 2016, I think the only reason why they chosed to base it off trials and tribulations theme is because at that time the 2001 theme was used everywhere. Because the Mia's theme wouldn't make sense story wise. At least the way I got the ending of T&T is that when Phoenix finally pursuited Godot, he stand up for himself and that way he "deserved" to have his own pursuit theme and Obejection theme as shown in Apollo Justice, where when he objects the 2001 Objection theme plays. As I said. I am glad for the Objection music in 2013 and 2016, but it just doesn't make sense story wise.

One of the reasons why I kinda want for Phoenix to be himself, instead of Mia's "spirit carrier"(or something) is that, I don't like Mia that much. Though "Objection 2011" is Miles' theme, I find it oddly fitting Uncle Ray. It shares the melody with Gregory's "Defence Attorney's Knowledge", and Gregory was Ray's mentor. It wasn't just Miles who inherited Gregory's blood and deductive abilities, it was also Ray who took over his law firm and continued his work. Gregory's spirit lives in both of them.
The music in AAI2 is so we'll made to reflect Edgeworth in that point in his life. Pursuit ~ Wanting to Find the Truth also is a lot more emotion-oriented and reflect a bit of the Defense Lawyers themes while still being Edgeworth in it's core. Because, after all, in that game Miles is a lot more affected by trust than reason, and indecisive between his future as an Lawyer or Prosecutor.
some people say that the organ/accordion parts of dgs are meh, but i really think it stands out to me as one of the more memorable sound palettes in the series with the combination of strings

And suddenly they dropped the bombshell by announcing the (finally) official localized Great Ace Attorney duology. Spirit of Justice has a really tempting sequel hook at the end. I like to think of T&T's objection as Mia's and after she decided Nick had learned everytbing she could teach him, he inherited her objection theme going foward!
I really love how Ryutaro's theme is like a mix of Ryunosuke and Kazuma's theme. Shows how much Susato values them both. Edit: to clarify, I meant like Ryutaro's theme has the feel of both Ryunosuke and Kazuma, rather than a note by note copy! This is simply how I view the song ^^
The Sax solo of Objection! 2011 sounds like a pursuit theme. Occasionally while I played AAI2, I'd forget that it was the Objection! theme of the game and wonder why the pursuit theme sounded different lol
@@OfficerPlormby To the truth. In all of the series i think harder= more intense Ojection! too, AA2 seriously harder than others not gonna lie. I also had the same opinion about how it seems like the pursuit theme but dang when it arrives, i can't seem to stop listening to it, probably the best Ojection! ever. Idk if you played AA2 or not but the plot is nice, I won't spoil it:)
Just got back into AA recently with the translation being announced and these songs are very nostalgic to me. Reminds me of when I first played the AA games when I was 14-15. I just started playing Gyakuten Kenji 2, which is the only game in the series I haven’t played besides great ace attorney.
imo Gyakuten Kenji 2 is better than 1, it was too dragged out/long especially the last case. We clearly has his(culprit) balls but it drags on and on. 2 dint have that problem(good twist, I dint see it coming but the evidence was there. Very nice), but in DD it happened again but atleast the cases hits good when its good, academic is kinda bad but well its tradition to have a not so good case in every game

Gyakuten kenji 2 imo is the best ace attorney game and if I had to note why I have to say that none of the cases are fillers and case 3 and 4 feel like final cases

@@adrianacaggese2606 My point exactly. Phoenix generally gives off optimistic and light-hearted vibes, sometimes even naïve and clueless. So it's natural for the main melody to be upbeat and triumphant, fitting the moment he gets closer to the truth and does that cocky grinning pose. But underneath the surface is... what? Of course it has to be some sadness there. In the span of only the _first_ game he loses his mentor, is put on trial for her murder, faces his dear childhood friend in court - or, rather, what he's become, and clashes swords with the Devil himself. I think they should've left this objection theme as his own, like they did with Apollo and Athena - just some slight rearrangements, but the same melody. Not that other ones are bad, but *this* one captures the whole Wright's personality throughout the entire series.

I love that Phoenix is a very complex character and isn't simply light-hearted and determined but is very thoughtful and has a lot of unsaid and unresolved feelings, a lot of complex emotions (like how they're shown in aa4) and I love that the first theme captures that. :)
@@GreatSikoTM Mostly DGS2. DGS1 and GK2 already have completed fan translations. While I'd love GK2 to get an official western release, it's playable in English and it's not that hard to get it.
My favourite is probably Ryunosuke's true Objection theme (aka Objection 2015), mainly because it first appears during my favourite moment in all of Ace Attorney. When you all play TGAA Adventures' first case, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.

Prelude of an Adventure just catches the whole game's vibes, it's more satisfying to hear it than Objection 2015. It plays whenever Ryunosuke steps towards the right direction in his journey. The rest of the objection themes are more towards the experienced attorneys forming their careers.
I don't know why, but having this theme as a title theme kind of ruins it for me as an ingame theme. Whenever it comes up I'm like 'Oh... It's this theme again.' I guess it fits thematically, and making a seperate title theme would ruin that. Idk maybe I just don't like the theme itself?

Objection! Let's say that every OST is quite good to listen, but I prefer 2013 than others, 2016 is really great too. I must say that this series has made really good music, and it also made a huge impact on gameplay.
I really like the idea of having different objection themes in the two last mainline games (DD and SoJ). It allow to give the characters that they're affiliated with some more personnality : For phoenix, he established himself, he now knows who he is in the courtroom, and from who he inherited (Mia) as reflected by the fact that it's mainly the same theme as for the last game in the first trilogy, but with some little evolution here and there, getting more refined over time like some fine wine ; Apollo's one is completely someone else than phoenix even though he learned from him, detaching himself to become his own person, being as competent and confident as his boss ; And for Athena, she have this kind of childish tone in her theme that make you feel like she is new to this and kind of a happy go lucky, but still incredebly competent prodigy.
Wind bending in session. Apollo Justice's theme is the greatest. I love the inclusion of every instrument, especially the bass guitar. It sounds heroic and prideful (not the bad pride). You feel so proud for Apollo from figuring something out and everytime the theme comes up I just turn it up, let it loop and forget about the gameplay for a little due to acute headboping.
I love the new PW character design. He seems more mature and has a serious look in his eyes. The detail with the chained watch in his jacket pocket is a classy one btw.
As cheesy as this may sound... These themes almost bring a tear to my eye since I played the Ace Attorney series during such an integral part of my childhood that I feel like it really influenced a foundation of my personality. In that, pursuing the truth and standing up for what is right/others even if you get you s1ht thrown your way because of it. At the very least, I try my best to abide by those principles.

AA3 and AA4 OST are sooo good! Apollo's themes are so powerful and energetic, truly defining him as a separate character from Phoenix. PLVPW had a stellar arrangement too, with GAAC perfecting the use of orchestra. *gulp* never liked Edgeworth's themes though.
i think the investigation themes work for when they're used. they're a lot less upbeat compared to the other objection themes but exude the sort of refinement you expect from Edgeworth. the investigations games also don't really sued their cornered/pursuit themes as much as the mainline entires. Confess the Truth & cross examination Presto are often used in place of them.
2009 is nice imo, but 2011 is kinda meh. I mean, 2011 is a fine piece of music but doesn't really fit as an Objection theme, it's too fast paced for that.

i dont know why some people say that they dont like the strings and layers of instruments in TGAA soundtracks. i personally think its the best part about the games, the way they use leitmotifs is just genius and despite all the use of orchestral instruments, they still manage to pull of a "mechanic" sound for Iris, a "strong and bold" sound for Kazuma and so on for Ryutaro, Sholmes and even the side characters like Gregson are just really noticeable and memorable. i love the TGAA soundtrack (along with the entire game) and hold it very dear to my heart.

Apollo's original objection theme in AA4 sounds the best, imo. That certain "vibe" in his theme got lost in later games due to the addition of rock elements and the likes. A lot of OSTs in AA4 give off a "brown sound", if you get what I mean, and I love it!
I personally love the 2016 remix. I remember very clearly when I heard it while playing and was trying to figure out what changed to make it sound so good.

The theme is evolving, like the character! He's not that same rookie we have met in the first game. He have to deal with doubts with his friend and even fight his own boss! Same for Phoenix and Athena themes!
Yea, Apollo's original objection theme is the best one. The newer themes are meh compared. They just don't hit as hard, though Athena's is fine (probably since it's not a remix of previous objection themes)

I can safely bet that Mia's motif is basically the 'mentor' theme. It becoming Phoenix's (and then some more instrumental changes) really shows his growth into the mentor role by Dual Destinies.
Also also, Mia's theme remains pretty lowkey, but Phoenix's has the slow buildup, which I can say is the journey he's had? I love the changes between the two themes, it makes them unique to the characters.

Apollo Justice's OST is SUPER underrated-at least, the objection and pursuit themes are highly overlooked. They're just FANTASTIC.
Apollo Justice has the best soundtrack out of any of the AA games, with the exception of the objection theme.AJ is really good, but Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice are tied for the best objection theme.

Love the fact that Phoenix's objection theme in DD & SOJ is Trials and Tribulations' one remixed. Like, that theme is originally more like Mia's actual objection theme and he effectively followed her legacy.
Also, both Investigations 2009 and 2011 are awesome.
It took me forever to realize that the melody in both Investigations themes is just Edgeworth's theme (Great Revival).
Although I like the objection themes 2013 and 2016, I think the only reason why they chosed to base it off trials and tribulations theme is because at that time the 2001 theme was used everywhere. Because the Mia's theme wouldn't make sense story wise. At least the way I got the ending of T&T is that when Phoenix finally pursuited Godot, he stand up for himself and that way he "deserved" to have his own pursuit theme and Obejection theme as shown in Apollo Justice, where when he objects the 2001 Objection theme plays. As I said. I am glad for the Objection music in 2013 and 2016, but it just doesn't make sense story wise.
@@lukasvokurka9224 The way I interpret it, is that Mia's soul is literally living on through Phoenix, as most obviously shown in the forceful objection in T&T when Mia's spirit is shown above Phoenix's. I think 2001 was used in AJ as more of a nostalgia factor.

One of the reasons why I kinda want for Phoenix to be himself, instead of Mia's "spirit carrier"(or something) is that, I don't like Mia that much. Mainly because we knew her for such a short time to actually develop any feelings towards her before her death.

Though "Objection 2011" is Miles' theme, I find it oddly fitting Uncle Ray. It shares the melody with Gregory's "Defence Attorney's Knowledge", and Gregory was Ray's mentor. It wasn't just Miles who inherited Gregory's blood and deductive abilities, it was also Ray who took over his law firm and continued his work. Gregory's spirit lives in both of them.

The music in AAI2 is so we'll made to reflect Edgeworth in that point in his life. Pursuit ~ Wanting to Find the Truth also is a lot more emotion-oriented and reflect a bit of the Defense Lawyers themes while still being Edgeworth in it's core. Because, after all, in that game Miles is a lot more affected by trust than reason, and indecisive between his future as an Lawyer or Prosecutor.

aai and aai2 have some of the best OSTs ever, period. The aai2 objection theme is the best out of all of them because of the 2nd part of the music.
I'd say Athena's theme in SoJ is better than AAI2's. It's still pretty fire though.

The Sax solo of Objection! 2011 sounds like a pursuit theme. Occasionally while I played AAI2, I'd forget that it was the Objection! theme of the game and wonder why the pursuit theme sounded different lol

I like how with each of the original trilogy themes they feel as though Phoenix's skill as a defense attorney is improving.
Just got back into AA recently with the translation being announced and these songs are very nostalgic to me. Reminds me of when I first played the AA games when I was 14-15.
I just started playing Gyakuten Kenji 2, which is the only game in the series I haven’t played besides great ace attorney.
imo Gyakuten Kenji 2 is better than 1, it was too dragged out/long especially the last case. We clearly has his(culprit) balls but it drags on and on. 2 dint have that problem(good twist, I dint see it coming but the evidence was there. Very nice), but in DD it happened again but atleast the cases hits good when its good, academic is kinda bad but well its tradition to have a not so good case in every game
@@bloatatoeminis5976 For me GK2's twists were like Shih-na's. If you look carefully at her arresting Kay, you can see that her overworld pose is identical to Yew's, like I did, and become suspicious immediately. So good.
Gyakuten kenji 2 imo is the best ace attorney game and if I had to note why I have to say that none of the cases are fillers and case 3 and 4 feel like final cases

The GAA2 themes immediately became some of my favourites in the series once I got to that point, very good theme lol

@@adrianacaggese2606 My point exactly. Phoenix generally gives off optimistic and light-hearted vibes, sometimes even naïve and clueless. So it's natural for the main melody to be upbeat and triumphant, fitting the moment he gets closer to the truth and does that cocky grinning pose. But underneath the surface is... what? Of course it has to be some sadness there. In the span of only the _first_ game he loses his mentor, is put on trial for her murder, faces his dear childhood friend in court - or, rather, what he's become, and clashes swords with the Devil himself.
I think they should've left this objection theme as his own, like they did with Apollo and Athena - just some slight rearrangements, but the same melody. Not that other ones are bad, but *this* one captures the whole Wright's personality throughout the entire series.

I love that Phoenix is a very complex character and isn't simply light-hearted and determined but is very thoughtful and has a lot of unsaid and unresolved feelings, a lot of complex emotions (like how they're shown in aa4) and I love that the first theme captures that. :)

Prelude of an Adventure just catches the whole game's vibes, it's more satisfying to hear it than Objection 2015. It plays whenever Ryunosuke steps towards the right direction in his journey. The rest of the objection themes are more towards the experienced attorneys forming their careers.
I played all of them..what i can say is,Great Ace Attorney 1-2 and Investigations 2 were the best games for me
I don't know why, but having this theme as a title theme kind of ruins it for me as an ingame theme. Whenever it comes up I'm like 'Oh... It's this theme again.' I guess it fits thematically, and making a seperate title theme would ruin that. Idk maybe I just don't like the theme itself?

I really like the idea of having different objection themes in the two last mainline games (DD and SoJ). It allow to give the characters that they're affiliated with some more personnality : For phoenix, he established himself, he now knows who he is in the courtroom, and from who he inherited (Mia) as reflected by the fact that it's mainly the same theme as for the last game in the first trilogy, but with some little evolution here and there, getting more refined over time like some fine wine ; Apollo's one is completely someone else than phoenix even though he learned from him, detaching himself to become his own person, being as competent and confident as his boss ; And for Athena, she have this kind of childish tone in her theme that make you feel like she is new to this and kind of a happy go lucky, but still incredebly competent prodigy.

Apollo Justice's theme is the greatest. I love the inclusion of every instrument, especially the bass guitar. It sounds heroic and prideful (not the bad pride). You feel so proud for Apollo from figuring something out and everytime the theme comes up I just turn it up, let it loop and forget about the gameplay for a little due to acute headboping.

As cheesy as this may sound... These themes almost bring a tear to my eye since I played the Ace Attorney series during such an integral part of my childhood that I feel like it really influenced a foundation of my personality. In that, pursuing the truth and standing up for what is right/others even if you get you s1ht thrown your way because of it. At the very least, I try my best to abide by those principles.

I feel like 2001 and 2012 represent ol' Nick the best, it's a great way to gauge how far he's come.
As the matter of fact; that's actually his theme and suits him. Especially his boldness despite many things against him he still fight for the truth no matter what.

Мне нравится то, что когда Нориюки Ивадарэ взялся за музыку в Dual Destinies и Spirit Of Justice, он сделал аранжировку темы "Objection!" не из первой или второй частей, а своей темы из третьей части.
Так как Objection 2004 используется еще когда мы играем за Мию, мне нравится представлять, что это еще символизирует, что она часть него и помогает ему вернуться в строй

AA3 and AA4 OST are sooo good! Apollo's themes are so powerful and energetic, truly defining him as a separate character from Phoenix. PLVPW had a stellar arrangement too, with GAAC perfecting the use of orchestra.
*gulp* never liked Edgeworth's themes though.
i think the investigation themes work for when they're used. they're a lot less upbeat compared to the other objection themes but exude the sort of refinement you expect from Edgeworth. the investigations games also don't really sued their cornered/pursuit themes as much as the mainline entires. Confess the Truth & cross examination Presto are often used in place of them.
2009 is nice imo, but 2011 is kinda meh. I mean, 2011 is a fine piece of music but doesn't really fit as an Objection theme, it's too fast paced for that.
