If you do use blueprints of others, then please make sure to give credits to the creators on your workshop page, because at the end of the day, all creators should get credits for their hard work, just as much as you like to receive credits for your hard work!

Woo! That was awesome. A bit of a backstory:
This zoo was made for the North America Animal Pack, I really wanted to have a North America-only zoo, I thought it would be a fun challenge, and this is how it ended up! It's based on the Maple Leaf Park from the Career mode, which helped a lot with the general landscape. What you basically went through were three main sections, the entrance and general area, which is made up of the Beaver, Seals and Sea Lions, Bears, Cougars, and all that Jazz, and on the other side of it all we had the Arctic Section with the Wolves, Reindeer, Sheep and the Foxes. Last but not least we sum it all up at the end with the Polar Bear Complex, and I really wanted to give the feel of you being on a ship in the middle of the ocean so I have the two pools separated with the sun shades from SimplySavannah and Lider acting as Ice Sheets to give that illusion.
That little part of the start was indeed made using Freebuild - since it doesn't add any new content and instead it simply allows you to place things where you can't normally place them (easily that is), it didn't affect your game. I used it for some of the smaller paths as well, but the overall idea behind this zoo was to make a park that modders and non modders and experience and appreciate all the same. I'm sure there's some other way of achieving that little pool, though!
Now, I should probably give some mention to the blueprints! I meant to have a wall for this in the original map, but I didn't get the chance to do it unfortunately. I have to thank Lider and Savannah for the sails, and Lion for the amazing signage across the park. I always say that a good builder makes their own stuff, but a great one appreciates those that have built for them! My good friend Forge also built that killer stellar Sea Eagle Aviary, and my friend Nick did the surrounding foliage! Drac also built those lovely blueprints for the Totem pole and those eagles as well.
I will mention you did skip a building in here, but it's no matter, you showcased the build perfectly! I'm currently working on another 100% modless one on my channel right now for the Wetlands DLC, so once that's all set I'll be sure to let you know! :D
Also absolutely no worries about the mods! If you ever want to give it another try with the master to help you out let me know, always happy to walk you through it, but zoos like this are exactly why I love the Vanilla experience, we have a beautiful game that already does so many amazing things and sometimes we can take a step back and appreciate that!
Anyways, I cannot thank you enough for covering this! It's always so awesome to see it through the perspective from someone else. I'll be sure next time to include a lot more jazz for pathing and direction as well to help you guide along an ~optimized~ route. Thank you so much again!

Aaarg so a mod it was indeed, haha! Ah well, hopefully, one day I will be able to play with mods too.. but for now, I just don't dare to risk any chance with all the zoos we are working on atm, haha ❤️

I just don't really dare to take any risks atm, as I said.. I think a year ago, I did a live stream on Twitch with about 10 to 20 modded animals or so? Everything went fine, until the day after or so when I tried to load the test map again with all the modded animals, and the game just kept crashing on me.. there was just no way of opening that map again and even my City Zoo started to crash super randomly, while I didn't even use any mods in my City Zoo.. So after that, I removed all mods, re-installed the game and everything was normal again, apart from that test mod file, which I could still not open.. So it is what it is I'm afraid for now :( When the game ever is "finished" and Frontier is ending their DLC support is probably the time where I will start to look into mods again :)
But like you said, the game is amazing as well vanilla! I still can't believe how much I am still enjoying the game after more than 2 years ❤️ and I still am so amazed by so many creations and still having so much fun building my own zoos :) ❤️

I can imagine how painful it was to do the terraforming 🙈🙈. With the terraforming tools in the game it takes so extremely long to build mountains, that it sometimes takes longer than to build the actual zoo 😄🙈.

Leaf is so great! Truly one of the best out there! (Fun fact: I built that Eagle aviary!) You should go into the file again and check out his wetlands building, because I think you missed that one! I loved watching him build this zoo

I'm sure someone already said it, but he did use a pathing mod to make this zoo posible in the way it looks. It's called AKAI Free Build, the only was to describe it is a non-destructive mod, like it doesn't actually put anything new or foreign to the game so it makes it posible to take that mod in and out as you pleas without any crashes, or at least i haven't encountered any myself with it
Thats really nice indeed that this mod doesn't seem to break anything when you don't have it for example. Really do like that! But still not gonna take the risk myself of downloading any, haha.. Way too much at stake here with my own zoos :)

This was a beautiful zoo by leaf. I hope you tour Wyatt Andrew's Dahler Zoo next. It's almost completely implied and has no guests so it won't crash because Wyatt used a TON of items.
I must have a different version of this game since my zoo looks like all the stuff was put in a cannon and just shot all over the map.
I think I know how Leaf did the splash pad. I think he made a path that goes down and lower than the surface of the water so he would activate the glitch where when the ground is lower than the surface of the water near it, i the water would still appear on the ground, and at the same surface level as the original source of water.

It must be possible to do aviary animals when you think about Jurassic World Evolution. There are flying dinosaurs, and they do fly. So surely they can try to do birds/bats etc to use in an aviary

If you are ever interested in trying mods, just use them on a new zoo. I find that if I ever have a mod that ends up breaking it, all I have to do is delete it and any other zoo that I used without mods works fine. So for example, if you don’t use mods on city zoo but make an entirely new zoo that utilizes mods you should be fine. Anytime that you want to go back to city zoo just remove the mods and reinstall them anytime you need them. You can also make separate backups your map just in case there is some catastrophic failure with the mods.
THanks for the tip Tucker, but when I had a test zoo with mods, also my City Zoo started crashing while I didnt even use the mods in that file.. so unfortunatly I really cant take any risk atm :) ❤️

Hi, I've been playing planet zoo some time now. I have 1 zoo in franchize mode and I wonder if you can have every animal in one zoo or do you have to stop once because you run out of money? 🤔
If you want you can have all the animals but the game lags a lot
I feel the same way I want to use Mod's like for Planet Zoo and the Sims 4 but I'm afraid my gaming PC that I saved a year and nine and half months for will brake if I use them

Water on path? That has to be done with a mod, right? There is no way that nobody has not discovered a way to put paths in water without a mod until now.
I know there is so much great stuff in this zoo, but water on path....that's just all i can think about.

I love this game but it runs too slow and has the same issues as Planet Coaster regarding AI and business sim. I hope Prehistoric Kingdom can address these peoblems!
Well... 1 Prehistoric Kingdom has a way worse performance at this point than Planet Coaster or Planet zoo.. 2 Prehistoric Kingdom is not made by the same devs as Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo.. :) 3.. In my opinion Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo really don't run as slow as you are saying.. so maybe.. just maybe, it's time for you to get an upgraded computer :) as my computer now is over 5 years old and runs both games fine unless you build super highly detailed and big parks :)
@@DeLadysigner Your clearly very passionate about planet zoo and coaster. When I play these types of games I want to create large parks and then optimise them through management. I found that with planet coaster and zoo once your parks were above a certain size they ran slowly for me this ended up being around 25 FPS. The game appeared to be CPU bound and even though I have a 12 core CPU that can run 24 threads the game lagged and my CPU wasnt being fully utilised. This is why I have the opinion that the game doesnt run very well once you park is above a certain size. Dont get me wrong I love planet coaster and zoo they are great games and as long as you have small to medium size parks your fine.
The reason why I'm hoping that prehistoric Kingdom runs better than zoo and coaster is because it runs on a non propriety game engine that will allow it to take full advantage of the CPU. I know that at the moment it runs slowly but it's still in development and once its optimised it will run alot faster. The other reason why I mentioned it was because to me it looks very similar to planet zoo, in fact it looks like they copied planet zoo's interface and features.
So yes I know they are made by different developers but I have high Hope's for prehistoric Kingdom because to me its planet zoo made with an up to date game engine that allows you to have dinosaurs in your park.
