The reason you have to cut the rear of the chassis for the truck bed is because this kit has, in the past, been sold with the coupe body and the pickup body. I built mine as a coupe back in the 90's. It's not a bad kit, but I had trouble with the mounts for the flip nose front end being too low. I fixed that with some wire. Still have mine, it came out pretty nice.
