Do you guys think the hair on the streets is a thing in Japan similar to the “rag and bone man” used to be a thing in Europe? A guy would come out and recycle old bones, and rag and crush them into fertilizer for farmers. Hair would have also been used, peasants could even sell their rags and bones in some cases so if someone left our hair it might be for something similar. So it became culturally normal to simply have hair outside because it would be essentially considered nothing more than organic waste. Why it’s just out on the pavement I have no idea lol
My only other guess would be some kind of hair donation service where someone just leaves their hair to be picked up to be made into wigs?
Cause it can just be washed and would likely have been extensively washed anyway so it wouldn’t matter if it was just left on the ground. However how wouldn’t that blow away…lol why’s it not just in a container xD
