  • Fly with us in British Airways Club World on flight BA283 from London Heathrow to Los Angeles. See the new Club World suite on the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in action and find out if the business class experience is worth the extra expense.
The flights departed Heathrow Terminal 5 B gates. The review included the BA Galleries Lounge on the B gates pier.

Excellent. I’m off business class in October to the US. Can I ask flying business can you access all the lounges at Heathrow prior to departure or is the Gallery specifically for BA clients?

    • @anthonyworrall

@@davidmorley2615 Thanks. The Gallery lounge is open to anyone with One World status. However BA is the only airline that flies from Terminal 5, so you’d need to be flying with them to use it. If you are in Terminal 3, there are a host of (better) One World lounge available.

Up until the dreaded lockdowns started I used B.A. Club World on my regular long haul. Apart from the old layout which wasn’t as good as most other major airlines I never had any complaints, service, food and overall comfort were all excellent. However I’ve since switched to KLM/AF. Although this involves a stopover (fairly short - Amsterdam or Paris) en route to London, the product is of a very high standard with the bonus of a more competitive price. I always thought once B.A. rolled out their new Business class they would hike the price and sure enough they have, so it’s no more B.A. for me.

More like the old First Class v the old ‘opposing’ Club seats where you had to step over the aisle occupant if you wanted to get out and they had reclined their seat and were asleep. Nice that you loom towards to windows v the Air NZ seats which while each have direct access to the aisle, leave you with your back to the window

I’m doing this flight in the summer along with 9 other family members including my 7 & 8 year old kids. The 10 of us are in this small forward club cabin (I’m in 7K which only has one window unfortunately 🙄) so it’ll be like us virtually having our own little private area, really looking forward to it.
I am slightly concerned with the new suites however having kids to keep an eye on though, with them being more “private” I suspect the old product (which I loved) is much more sociable & far better at keeping tabs on children.
I’ll find out in July 😃

Excellent review, straight to the point and void of flowery language - perfect. As a BA Gold card holder of many years, still can’t bring myself to spend my own hard earned money on BA long haul. Asian carriers so much better and crew make you feel they really are there to serve, haven’t seen that on a BA long haul flight for a number of years. Some of the food presentation still very poor, particularly the beef cheeks. You would never see that on Singapore or Emirates. At least the new ‘hard’ product is a big improvement though. Keep travelling!

Club World is the same thing as business class. Although there’s a big difference between the Club Europe business class offer and the Club World business class offer. If you are flying beyond Europe/parts of the Middle East, it will be Club World.
The second meal on my flight was afternoon tea/supper. We took-off at lunchtime, so the first meal was lunch, then a second meal before landing in LA late afternoon. On overnight flights that land the next morning, the second meal would be breakfast.
There were snacks available on the galley throughout the flight; crisps, biscuits and chocolates. And you can use the call bell to ask from any drinks. On this flight, the crew came through the cabin several times to see if anyone wanted anything. They were a very good crew 😎

Sad to note the Motherly BA stewardesses ( I refuse to call them 21stC FAs ) are getting friendly rather than like headmistress Trunchbull ... nooooo. That is a step to far. So B/A is as bad as it always is. Not having flown with them for many years I don't and will never fly with them again. My last exppearance with B/A was flying from LHR to BKK. I only flew with them then as I had to get to BKK early. Normally I fly EVA Air on that route. Ok, they took off on time and arrived a tad early. But and it's a BIG BUT. They run out of food so only fish was offered. Normally I would have put up with that but I am allergic to fish. Had to settle with a dried-up pasta dish that was inedible. Will I ever travel with B/A again??? I would sooner walk.

I HATE the blue lighting in their cabin. It's like being in an anti-heroin-injecting toilet in a train station. It's horrible. BA Business Class is not Business Class, it's way way way below the standards of service and quality of Emirates and similar airlines, and no cheaper.
