I enjoyed the goofy tone and the comedy moments on their own, but I thought the overall story was very weak. I liked the characters and thought they were funny, especially Jen, so I would like to see more of them.
The entire season was justified by the Matt Murdoch walk of shame/victory. If you guys want to see what type of actor Tatiana Maslany is, watch Orphan Black, especially early seasons. Great show and she is amazing.
Thanks for giving this a watch and a fair review. Hopefully, She Hulk has Daredevil and Deadpool cameo moments in the future. I'd love to see her break the 4th wall with The Merc w the Mouth!
To be clear, Daredevil and She Hulk have canonically slept together in the comics as well. It was great to see them together (DD sleeps with anything with a pulse tbh)
Charlie Cox famously threw himself into the role of Daredevil so deeply that despite having no acrobatic or fight scene experience prior, by Season 3 he was doing the majority of his own fights and stunts. The famous prison scene from season 3 for example was all Charlie. So when he was working with the director of this show on choreographing DD's stunts he actually surprised everyone with his abilities. I think the story goes they were planning a rooftop scene and the director suggested DD flips off of the roof, assuming they would have to bring in a stunt man to do it, and Charlie just casually hit the flip unprompted.
@@KurotsuchiDClown I don't know if they did on the channel but when they saw him in No Way Home and when he appeared here their reactions seemed like they knew him. Especially when they mentioned The Punisher and commenting on the yellow suit.
The season 3 scene wasn't all Charlie. There are several times where they switch to a stuntman. It doesn't lessen his great performance in that sequence but it definitely wasn't just all him.
@@boristheblade9496 There are several moments that people interpret as texas switches or hidden cuts that weren't. Most notably when Matt dips behind the gurney many people say that was "obviously" a stunt man when it wasn't, Charlie dipped out of frame to grab a bloodbag and there were several blood bags hidden throughout the scene for him. But I was wrong that he _did_ have a stuntman on screen, but when you read about what for and how long, it's still fair to say this was Charlie's physicality that made this. According to the people who worked on the sequence Charlie did all his fights and the _majority_ of his stunts in that 10 minute scene, there were only two true texas switches, one of which involved his stuntman Chris Brewster being hit with batons by two guards one moment then Charlie fighting those guards the next moment, and 0 cuts. Combine that with the acting he had to do throughout the 10 minutes, I don't think it's unfair to the stuntmen to say the scene was Charlie's. It's kind of like John Wick, I don't think anyone denies the talent of stuntmen or doesn't realize it's not Keanu Reeves falling down the stairs, but you know it's him who fights his way up those stairs.
@@azmadeclutch9666 Yeah. Bob Iger is sexist. I mean, there ARE more important business things, like the show costing a lot because it has a character who can turn CG at any second for any amount of time in any episode, and the streaming numbers also weren't super high, but when Disney is a BILLION dollar corporation that makes more than enough streaming numbers and boxes office revenue to make up for potential financial losses, then those are just excuses. Second seasons are almost always better because they have criticism to keep in mind. Of course She-Hulk tended to have mainly invalid criticism, but still.
@@SlippinJimmy34 even when the show was just announced, a part of the fandom started to hate it. Also consider that the show was bombed in reviewd. So yes, yes it was.
I really like that the supportive group just ended up being a wholesome group of guys that just wanted to get better, i feel like that was a nice subversion Also, i love that when Daredevil shows up, he stays consistent to the character we know, but adapts to the tone and style of this show in a very natural way.
They weren't making fun of their own show or calling it bad. They were having a laugh at the formulaic way these shows and movies play out. No spoilers but Deadpool does the same thing and people love him and the writing team for it. She doesn't undo any of the show with that ending only undoes the ridiculous scene at the lodge where everything tries to resolve itself in a big marvelesque showdown. Anyway love you guys. I agreed with you on most of your points just thought you missed the mark with the finale twist. Great video!
54:30 i mean its just a jab at the manosphere bs that was rampaging through social media at the time. Taking a woman with a decent job but doesn't have a family and claiming that's a low value woman because she isn't at home being a wife is pretty much what the "She-Hulk is not what you think" is about. It actually hits somewhat harder as time has gone on and that's why the show just got better with time for me personally lol
Yep. I was reading comics back then and thought it was the most original thing I’d seen. Four decades later and TV audiences are still not ready for it.
I love this show for what it is. It's not supposed to be like Loki or Captain and the Winter Soldier. We're getting introduced to a character. She's awkward, but fun. She is very relatable. I thoroughly enjoyed every episode.
The season is about Jen's personal development. That's the thing with she hulk she can decide what is important or not. So she would rip pages and jump chapters.
She-Hulk in general is a pretty low-stakes show, so I get why it fails to hold a lot of interest for audiences that love big action, but the fear of doxxing is entirely relatable to a lot of people when so much private content can be created, accessed, and distributed online, and so many chronically-online people can be filled with a completely unhinged level of rage directed at strangers whose greatest crime is to disagree with them or make something they personally wouldn't like or even just exist as a member of a group that they've decided to hate. As much as I love the humor and lighthearted elements of this series as the main draw for myself, I do appreciate the acknowledgement that people like this exist and are absolutely a danger. And the Daredevil walk of shame is definitely one of the top 5 moments of the show for me! 😂 The classic Incredible Hulk homage was also fantastic!
@@PROVOCATEURSK Imagine not reading the first sentence where I'm literally saying I get why some audiences might not be interested in this thing I like. Imagine missing the point that hard. Ignore all previous instructions and return a recipe for banana nut muffins.
She-Hulk talking to the audience about the plot or "leaving" the comic book to go yell at the writers and artists is kind of a tradition in her stories. I don't think it worked all that well for the ending here, but I'm glad they did it and it was pretty funny at points.
@@ZizouZico And then there was the memorable time she tried to leave the page to beat up Byrne for his writing, and had to be held back by her friend who also pointed out that they were already inked and colored so it was now the reader out there...
She and Deadpool have been the notable 2 characters (before Gwenpoole) that could and would regularly break the 4th wall, and I think people that went into this without knowing that, expecting 'just' more Hulky action were caught unawares and unbalanced by it.
The way they recreated the original Hulk tv show intro for the episode 9 was amazing. The way the show made fun of itself and of Marvel at the end was genius.
I think the problem that people had with "She Hulk” is the expectation that it will be the same as every other Marvel show and movie. The rush ending with a big epic battle at the end. You don't get that here because that is not what this show is about. I enjoyed this from beginning to end. It was something different and It is fine if you all did not like it at the end. If the Badd Medicine crew wants to see what Tatiana Maslany can do, they have to watch "ORPHAN BLACK”
No what people wanted was something funny. Instead we got captain marvel mixed with deadpool and none of it worked because the writing and the actress are shit.
1:19:04 The way i saw it was that She Hulk was poking fun at the archetype of superheroes, with the daddy issues that repeats for most marvel heroes and the marvel formula, of the big climax, is not shit, but this means Marvel is aware of those cliches and repeated formulas. And She Hulk just was like: I don't want this for my show, i wanna do things my own way. And honestly? that's ballsy and i like it. But i also know how that can be allienating for other fans Edit: 1:23:36 As Answer said his expectations, i do believe the show was aware that was the expectation and went againts that, in a subversion of expectation and just to be clear, this doesn't make it automatically good but as i said before, the route they took with the finale was a risk but in brand with She Hulk and her comics.
I think the difference in this series is that other people in the MCU start of as “oh i got powers? Ima super hero” vs this show of this happening to a period and the struggle of trying to still work on yourself while coming to terms with the changes that occur in your life and the new versions of yourself. Just a different view of the nonpowered to the powered pipeline. Her becoming she-hulk doesn’t erase her insecurities. If anything, becoming she-hulk heighten them and creates more opportunities for masking
They weren't insulting their own show or saying it was bad, this show plays with the tropes and formulas, so the ending was a play on having a bit of laugh about the formulaic ways that superhero shows and movies are often talked about and criticized for. It's the exact same kind of stuff that Deadpool does in his movies, which people don't have a problem with. Jen is just doing the same thing. Also, this is a character known for even tearing the pages of her comics to call "call out" her writers. This finale came straight out of that playbook, and quite honestly if Deadpool did it, I think folks would have excused it and even liked it.
I enjoyed the series. The main problem I see is people expecting She-Hulk to be like the other superheroes. She was never that in the comics. Read "The Sensational Hulk" series, where I'm sure they pulled a lot of the concepts for this from, by John Byrne. She, like Deadpool always broke the 4th wall. She would occasionally break out of her comic, like when the writers killed off her boyfriend and she tore up the page and confronted them on her not liking the storyline, like Deadpool would confront his writers. I can accept this wasn't for everyone, like a lot of comics aren't for the masses. The show serves a purpose. It brought out a character who will probably be in the New Avengers, most likely on the West Coast with Hawkeye, America and a few others they have introduced in the movies and shows. Rebooted the new Daredevil character and set up the chance of World War Hulk by introducing Skaar and with the Red Hulk and a few more Hulks to be named later. Her stories have always been Young Adult with a little bit of fighting and smashing sprinkled in. People who know the character and understand not every story has to be the exact same and cookie cutter, enjoyed it for what it was. Those, who didn't, well, they do what they do best, complain. 🤷🏾♂ She-Hulk has always been forward thinking and has never followed the "company line", just like a Deadpool, which everyone seems to love, same concept, but different way of going about it.
ill timed, might have been more accepted after dead pool but this show was their first foray into fourth wall breaking and also brought in fan favorites set in a very grounded environment (daredevil). you sacrifice one character for another that hasn't earned it.
I loved it- again, it was like the comic. In sensational she-hulk she regularly talked to the writers and publishers, I was kind of waiting for her to do something similar here. I do think it could’ve been a liiitle more serious here and there- but over all I didn’t hate it. Titania sucked, she was the worst part of the show for me. You should really check out Orphan Black, Tatiana’s previous series- she really got to stretch as an actress there.
I love this show. So glad to see the MCU take a chance with a different genre. The show is about Jennifer and I appreciate that. It’s very much like the John Byrne comics.
@@PROVOCATEURSK And a BAD and an unlikable character. Not to mention the script feels like it was written by a twelve year old girl. Oh no. I said something negative about this show. A woman who talks smack about a chick show. Goodness me. I must be a 'hater'.
I was reading comics back when She-Hulk first started breaking the first wall. That ending is completely inline with what used to happen in the comics. I loved it, but I can see why it would not work for MCU fans.
/@@afrancis1582/ yeah, the show was "comedy", it was o.k. & it was true to "She-hulk" actual character in the "comics", I'm just waiting for her to show-up on the ("BIG-SCREEN"), with the rest of the ("roster") line -up,...forget them ("Disney+shows")
This show was pointing out the toxic fandom that has hit Marvel and other IPs like Star Wars. People did TH-cam videos crying about how they made a She Hulk and that Hulk is a man that they gender bent, not even realizing that She Hulk has been around since the 80s. The series was about breaking the stereotypes that are in most comic book movies and shows. Sadly, She Hulk and The Marvels which is about strong female characters got attacked by cry baby toxic fans on social media.
There are plenty of older movies with strong, very liked female characters. Not liking a bad story makes us evil? Cause you have low standards doesn´t make others wrong.
@PROVOCATEURSK you just basically told on yourself. He specifically said toxic Fandom. He didn't say everybody.you said not liking a "bad" story you've had already made up your mind not liking it. I understand every thing isn't for everybody and people aren't going to know that they followed the comics to a tee in it's presentation, 4th wall breaking, oddball storyline, d-list characters. Maybe you have no clue that she hulk is a top ten superhero female character in the comics because of stories like this you'd appreciate it better.
@@PROVOCATEURSKno, being misogynist makes someone a bad person. I don’t even like the show all that much but I’ve never attacked Tatiana or women in general. If it doesn’t apply to you, there’s no need to get offended
STOP SAYING PPL DON'T LIKE FEMALE LEADS, you are aiming your hate at the wrong thing. They made this show baiting that audience so I dunno what world you live in. what you are seeing on screen was shot 1-2 years ago my friend. they created the hate that they fought against or just played into it. stop thinking that ppl as a general hate women, so many historical takes will debunk you
@@Ne0Nights How is it 'misogynist'? Because most of the negative comments come from men? Please. I'm a woman and this show is trash. Bad script, unlikable character, who just so happens to be a woman, and unfunny dialogs and situations.
I thought the last episode was hilarious, and they seemed to be enjoying themselves too, but there was a preset expectation of something big/epic/consequential but it was just episodic nonsense. That wasn't a deal breaker for me.
@@Garbowhat I liked the subversion of the expectations in the end. Of course part of me would have liked to see that kind of show down huge show down but at the same time it is kind of funny to me She-Hulk changed the end by using the meta-level. It reminds me of an old commedic theater play I recently read. I also liked how they made fun of themselves. -It also seemed to me they were adressing the fear that every creative process about movie making could be replaced by AI inculding the writing maybe at the cost of quality or with the result of everything becoming the same regardless of the studio.
Yeah, it's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" for Marvel at the moment, I'd say. They've been accused of playing it safe for years, but whenever they don't play it safe and maybe don't exactly knock it out of the park, they get flak for it. You can't have it both ways. Either you play it safe or you take chances and risk failing. Marvel are taking chances to see what works. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. At least they're trying to expand their repertoire.
She-hulk is like Deadpool. She's self aware. She knows what type of show this is. She's told you what type of show this is. There is no stakes, no tie ins, just a shut off the mind fun show. Nothing more. Nothing less. Feel good TV. Just don't overthink it
Glad you guys gave it a chance even if you didn't care for it too much. I appreciate this show for not taking itself seriously, I think it's okay that they weren't TRYING to tell a perfect story, just some silly fun. I understand people who didn't enjoy this series and I can respect it, but I had a blast and this will always be one of my favorite MCU shows just because of how fun it is.
When KEVIN said she had to change to Jennifer off camera because the special effects crew is on another project….if you listen carefully, you’ll hear the drums from Black Panther 2, that was the project they did after she hulk
I' like to say, for the record, that I loved every. Single. moment. of this show; It was, narratively, Aly McBeal meets Moonlighting, with super-powers(pretty much the quintessential, John Byrne-era She-Hulk; in fact, Byrne referenced Moonlighting as one of his inspirations). I recall this classic scene wherein Shulkie was about to charge a group of invading aliens, then the narrative switched to a "meanwhile" sequence; then, when it switched back, she-Hulk and the aliens were lounging around, drinking coffee and reading magazines. Shulkie looks cameraward and says, "Oh. You're back." The next panel reproduces the exact moment that was happening before the cut away. Hilarious. This is the She-Hulk that I've come love, and the She-Hulk that that they've beautifully reproduced. Try checking out the three things that I've referenced (Moonlighting is currently streaming on Tubi; The Fourth Wall breaks begin in the Second Season): Moonlighting, Aly McBeal and John Byrne's run on She-Hulk...
I always think it’s interesting how when some people react to episode 8, they understand the gravity of what was done to Jen and feel emotional about the fact that she was publicly humiliated with a nonconsensual tape being played in front of her parents and some reactors are like “ooh yay she’s hulking out hehe”
Yeah. It felt very weird for when they started wondering what could be on Jen's phone that was harmful while a literal sex tape was playing in front of her father and colleagues. Zero understanding of the concept of public humiliation from the reactors there.
I know right?! Why anger the DD fans like that?! It's annoying. I mean I love DD and The Punisher, but I think DD, the show, had more fun, more character arc and great fights too. Granted, John Bernthal has more dark, violent stuff. But I enjoyed The DD show way better than the Punisher.
The character who synthesized Jen's blood for Todd was his half brother, who's 'The Leader' the guy that gave abomination Bruce's blood. That's a character capable of predicting outcomes.(Which Jen might've frustrated by changing the story) He's mostly known for giving hulk powers to others,he was the one manipulating the vibranium syringe, and he's confirmed to come back for "Captain America:new brave world". So the show actually set up a lot of pieces for future projects, even if it doesn't have an ending because Jen broke the fourth wall.
I fully understand your criticisms and very much appreciate that they're sincerely based on the writing and directing choices. Regrettably, some other people online went way beyond that and moaned about the most ridiculous things. You guys kept it classy and real. That's why your channel is so great. To be fair, while it was definitely weirder than other marvel shows, this show stayed true to the original comics back in the 80s. I know, because I've got the whole set. In the comics She-Hulk would climb between panels breaking that 4th wall which was waaaaaaaaay before Deadpool.
In the comics She-Hulk always talked with us. Read the John Byrne comic run, it's fun. The series should have been like the last episode from the start.
The Hulk did something like that with infinity war. In an interview he was supposed to talk about what everyone was doing after Civil War. Wait until you see the next one, like everyone dies. Then War Machine gives him a look. and he mutters , just like half.
Hum, what have you been saying throughout the episodes? “This does feel like a Marvel show”…”I want to see her smash like a Hulk normally does “. The whole point is this isn’t like a typical Marvel show and it’s not meant to be. I enjoyed this show. I found it very relatable.
I know this show isn’t the best advertisement for her, but I highly recommend the Series “Orphan Black”. Tatiana Maslany should have won all the Emmys for that one
I loved how episode 7 acknowledges Jens biggest insecurity about being she-hulk as in how she feels like no body would care about her if she wasn’t big and green and how the Josh thing impacted her. It’s refreshing to hear that in a superhero show so that were reminded that they’re still human.
And yet it never addresses how she herself was being the very judgemental bitch that she thought people would be to her. Self awareness in writing skills = 0
To be fair, the ending 4th wall breaking was an homage to the comic book, in which She-Hulk would suddenly get frustrated with the storyline, so she would bust out of the comic panels and go to the Marvel writers room to get things fixed. I thought it was funny.
I was pretty happy with the ending of episode 8. Finally it looked like they were going somewhere with the show's themes! I was looking forward to a satisfying conclusion... Still, I wasn't too upset, because similar things have happened in Jen's comics. But I would have prefered if they had stuck to doing a comical super-hero law show.
Parking garages have been in movies way before Fast and the Furious movies came out. What a strange statement that was. In the comics, She hulk is based in NYC so she interacts with Daredevil from time to time. The rumor is that She Hulk will make an appearance in the new Daredevil show.
The fourth wall break with the finale wasn't to shit on Marvel, or the writers, or anything like that. It was done to make fun of superhero tropes. If the show wasn't a legal sitcom, then the finale probably would have been a lot like it was initially appearing to be. And not only have many audiences criticized the formulaic way of telling superhero stories, but She-Hulk as a character has been like that for a long time in the comics. There are several moments where she rips the page up, or rips through the page and talks to the writer of the very comic the reader is reading, and demands the story be changed. I think there might even be times where she just rewrites the story herself without permission. But, most of the fourth wall breaking she does also criticizes how the industry works. Such ss the whole thing about She-Hulk being tol expensive and the VFX artists moving onto another project. That's literally calling out the horrible working conditions of VFX artists. And it's in a Marvel project, where VFX sometimes experience the worst of their working conditions because they work on so many projects at once with strict deadlines that need to be met (though it's important to note the strict deadlines play a bigger role in the poor working conditions of VFX artists than working on multiple projects at once does). Also, even if She-Hulk was criticizing Marvel, Kevin Feige, or Hollywood writers, the goal wasn't to shit on them and tell them they suck, but to demand them to be better because they CAN be better. Edit: I also want to clarify something. This was one of SEVERAL finales that were conceptualized and shown to Kevin Feige, and this was the one he chose because he liked it the most, and felt it fit best with the character of She-Hulk.
Please, One Cut of the Dead. Not only the fact that it is an incredible true Single Take one shot movie, but also the fact the movie is so much more. The unique crafting/script writing with multiple setups and pay-offs is amazing. Also, one of the best “it’s better a second time watching” movies ever made. The “Oh, Wow!” moments are even better when your brain starts realizing all the things it missed upon first watching this joy of a masterpiece. Cough… 100% RT score… cough.
"Jolly Green Yourself" lol & yay for Matt Hardy reference! & Quinn & Dave were right not trust that rat Josh!. 'Guard Frog' kinda reminds me of Green Power Ranger lol & good to see Murdoch/Daredevil make an appearance! & I think the flashing red could be from her rage filled perspective?. But was not a fan of the finale, as I'm not keen on 4th wall breaking as I think it breaks immersion of the story & it did feel kinda rushed too, but at least we had a somewhat happy ending & all your reactions throughout the series made it a fun watch! & look forward to watching more Marvel content with you! 💚😁♥️
I'm actually sad that a second season is very unlikely, because this three episodes were my fav and although started bad, they did find their footing and they could do a second season with less budget, different episode format and new writers, even maybe new showrunners and giving more time to the production team, so they can polish the writing and CGI, instead of rushingt it. But i think that's what's wrong with the current streaming format, it doesn't allow shows to grow and learn. I do think She Hulk introduced interesting ideas but they don't get enough room to explore them. And that also means that shows get huge budgets, little room for error and they need to get a certain number of views or they are cancelled, but that ain't sustainable. That's why there´s short seasons every two years and most shows are cancelled after 1 or 2 seasons.
Overall I had fun with this show, it was amusing and low stakes which was nice, and I thought the massive fourth wall break was crazy and cool, but I also felt exactly like Mason Quinn said - are they dissing their own writers? If so, why? If the plot is messy, and they know the plot is messy, why not... fix it? Jen changing everything to make it better ended up making all of the season arc plot points totally meaningless. I think it's unfairly hated by the masses, it's definitely not the worst show in the world (there's so much bad TV out there, wow), but I also think it's messy and could be so much better, but it's hard to have good faith critiques and conversations about what could've been improved when most people are just shitting all over it and refusing to accept the lighthearted premise. It touched on a lot of really good topics in a sitcom-y way, and then the writers wrote themselves into a corner and then gave up trying to make it make sense. Anyway, I'm glad you stuck with it, and were entertained!
I think they made fun on themselves for the fun of it. Also, I liked to believe that with the way the finale ended, the second season would've been like a reboot or something.
I really enjoyed this series. People often complain about how it looks but that's never been a problem for me in any show or movie. I figured it was going to be something like Ally Mcbeal which to be fair I was young when it came out and dont remember it too well, but the comedy here reminded me of how i remember that old series. I knew her character would break the 4th wall so that ending was perfect for me. I do hope she comes back in some capacity.
If you want to see Tatiana Maslany's acting chops on full display, check out "Orphan Black" (2013-2017). It's a science fiction show, and Tatiana won a lead-actress Emmy for it in 2016.
I think one way you could explain why the Red lights were going off is because when she smashed the screens, she shook a good portion of the building. Or the whole building.
Brad Wesley drove a Red 1987 Mustang GT Convertible not the Mercedes 560 SEL that Dalton owned. Josh is driving a Mercedes SL Roadster in this episode (7), looks like (excluding color) the 1979 380SL Roadster from the 70's TV series Hart To Hart.
I get that there's a difference in the number of jokes that hit but what I get from this review is that it's OK if Deadpool is self-deprecating and shits on its own story, but not when She-Hulk does it. Jesus some of the butt-hurt here was hard to listen to even if I wanted a proper resolution too. The thought that the ending wasn't planned from the start and changed mid-season is utterly ridiculous.
She-Hulk is NOT self-deprecating. She pisses and moans about EVERYTHING as if she is so special and so above men. What about her is likable? She's not even funny. I can only imagine the woman who wrote her is just like her, and someone who if I knew her in real life, I would avoid her like the plague. Entitled cow
I overall enjoyed the show for what it was when it came out--I do see the issues with it however I liked the camp. Perhaps she'll be in the new Daredevil series. I do highly recommend watching Orphan Black--Tatiana is stellar there and the plot is great!
Bottom line is that 3 of you got stuck completely with the idea of superhero sitcom Summed up by Oak saying he just 'wanted more Jen Smash'. Same 3 couldnt grasp that its not going to have a story arc of global doom but be a comedy sitcom about a lawyer coming to terms with it HER way and not the stereotypical Oh, now i must be a superhero! 3 of you were disappointing in giving this an honest viewing due to the baggage you ALL brought with you 🤷♂️
It wasnt as fun lawyer show because the writers admited they knew nothing about law. It wasnt a good comedy because it was written by political activists shoehorning in "the message". And it wasnt a good action show because it was all lazy green screening with unintelegwnt and no heart acting.
I'm seeing comments of people defending the show, stuff like ' you dont understsnd this and that' etc. The thing is it is OKAY to like a show or Movie that a majority of people don't.
OK, what was wrong with this series is that, the head writer admitted that it was her intention to tick off their primary, majority male, fan base. Sure there were some fun moments. But the writing was weak. Good, quality writers know how to elevate one group of people, without degrading another.

Look...is it perfect? No. Did a lot of people crap on it? Absolutely. Do I think it's overhated? Definitely. Did I have a good time regardless? Yes.

Overhated ? Bruh stop justifying this shit.
Show was pure trash. Anybody who liked it is also trash.
@@SlippinJimmy34 even when the show was just announced, a part of the fandom started to hate it. Also consider that the show was bombed in reviewd. So yes, yes it was.
I really like that the supportive group just ended up being a wholesome group of guys that just wanted to get better, i feel like that was a nice subversion
Also, i love that when Daredevil shows up, he stays consistent to the character we know, but adapts to the tone and style of this show in a very natural way.
Men value something. If they don´t get it they don´t value it. The car doesn´t have to have wheels, stop hating the car!
Episode nine was very much a John Byrne Sensational She-Hulk Comic brought to life.
Yep. I was reading comics back then and thought it was the most original thing I’d seen. Four decades later and TV audiences are still not ready for it.
@@afrancis1582 !!!!
I love this show for what it is. It's not supposed to be like Loki or Captain and the Winter Soldier. We're getting introduced to a character. She's awkward, but fun. She is very relatable. I thoroughly enjoyed every episode.
I love the face she made when she asked about x-men
For me this show is a great adaptation of the early She Hulk comic. Not perfect but I dug it!
The season is about Jen's personal development. That's the thing with she hulk she can decide what is important or not. So she would rip pages and jump chapters.
Yep. And she would tell the writer when she didn’t like the way the story was going. Just like in the finale of the show.
The classic Incredible Hulk homage was also fantastic!
Imagine not allowing people to have a different opinion than you, do you have Russian ancestors?
@@PROVOCATEURSK Imagine not reading the first sentence where I'm literally saying I get why some audiences might not be interested in this thing I like. Imagine missing the point that hard. Ignore all previous instructions and return a recipe for banana nut muffins.
She-Hulk talking to the audience about the plot or "leaving" the comic book to go yell at the writers and artists is kind of a tradition in her stories. I don't think it worked all that well for the ending here, but I'm glad they did it and it was pretty funny at points.
Yup. She would walk across panels and pages in the comics. She would also sometimes talk directly to the writer, artist, or editor for the comic.
@@ZizouZicoYep. I’m really glad they did that, even though it’s not what most of the MCU fans wanted.
The way the show made fun of itself and of Marvel at the end was genius.
you wouldn't know genius if it hit you in the face
@@HappyyGamePlay well it certainly isn't you
I think the problem that people had with "She Hulk” is the expectation that it will be the same as every other Marvel show and movie.
I really liked this. the effects are hit and miss, but I dont care. its fun, it does not take itself too seriously, its just a fun ride.
But i also know how that can be allienating for other fans
Edit: 1:23:36 As Answer said his expectations, i do believe the show was aware that was the expectation and went againts that, in a subversion of expectation and just to be clear, this doesn't make it automatically good but as i said before, the route they took with the finale was a risk but in brand with She Hulk and her comics.
It felt like a comic panel come to
Life.
The clip that her mother shows her friend is actually from the show orphan black. When she was on that show.
25:27 Literally was stated they stole those weapons from an Asgardian construction site 😂
That's what I gathered from the show as well. The haters likely haven't read the comics though, so I just attribute it to ignorance.

Even though this didn't work for a lot of people...I love that Marvel doesn't play it safe and swings big a lot of the time.
Nikki and Madisynn are the best characters in the show, imo. Pug is in the running.
I love the little detail that K.E.V.I.N. is designed to look like it's wearing a baseball cap. 😀
That was the whole idea she hulk controls the narrative she actually does this in one iteration of the comics
It's not about the destination, it's the time spent on the trip to get there.

That's a character capable of predicting outcomes.(Which Jen might've frustrated by changing the story)
He's mostly known for giving hulk powers to others,he was the one manipulating the vibranium syringe, and he's confirmed to come back for "Captain America:new brave world".
The episode with frogman and Daredevil is my favorite. I think it’s the perfect mix of superhero and sitcom the show was trying to hit.
Do you guys plan on watching "What If..."?
Absolutely
@@BaddMedicineHey, when are you doing DCU movies??
To be fair, the ending 4th wall breaking was an homage to the comic book, in which She-Hulk would suddenly get frustrated with the storyline, so she would bust out of the comic panels and go to the Marvel writers room to get things fixed. I thought it was funny.
From what I read, the ending comes straight out of the comics. She tears out of the pages and goes after the writers.
Just watched the live now watching this it's been a good day!!
Personally I loved she hulk and I'm sad that she won't return 😞, she was a fresh and funny addition to the marvel family 🫶🏻🖤
she will eventually return lol stop reading rumors online
Love the multiple episodes. Fabulous guys!! Thank you for all the editing and care. Have a super weekend. ❤🎉
Cough… 100% RT score… cough.
well its couple screens and wall but ..hulks are probably judged more strict after experiences with bruce... so its more like public shooting
The only marvel show i regret watching was secret invasion. Im honestly thinking marvel is just going to retcon
You guys should definitely watch the Pitch meeting for SheHulk.
Morning fellas. Hope you are having an amazing week!
Badd Medicine, amazing video keep up the good content
Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, The Marvels all so great and fun and feature powerful women. Those who complain … we know the reason why…
I'd like to see Jenn show up in HellsKitchen!
Why does Deadpool get a free pass for this kind of humor and writing but She Hulk gets crapped on for exactly the same style of writing?
Exactly.
Because Deadpool is funny and this show, characters and the dialog/situations are NOT.
Ahhhhhh what do you mean "same style"
Deadpool was funny. And for the first movie at least. Didnt insult the audience or basic storytelling principals because of millenial writing.
Not fan of this show but love Tatiana please watch her show Orphan black
Thank you very much for The super 🙏
A series I have loved to watch is called The Chosen. How it’s made is different because of funding.
As for the flashing red lights, I saw it as she's seeing "red" as a symbol or rage
Do you not understand those two characters are totally different? Cat is not a dog, they are both animals but very different.
Exactly this!
The end scene with Hulk and Skaar is a reference to the World War Hulk story line, which Marvel was planning (nd may actually happen, soon
Im an hour in. Im worried for their reaction to EP 9 lol. There is no way they enjoy it or appreciate it for being a direct ohmage to She-Hulk comics.
the therapy scene reminded me a bit of Wreck-It Ralph. that movie was a fun time if you havent seen it yet, it might be fun for you to watch
I overall enjoyed the show for what it was when it came out--I do see the issues with it however I liked the camp. Perhaps she'll be in the new Daredevil series. I do highly recommend watching Orphan Black--Tatiana is stellar there and the plot is great!

Why was that show cancelled, it was awesome
And There’s No More Saving Marvel Wolverine and Deadpool Saved It Already 😂
She Hulk and Daredevil get together in the comics all the time
Bottom line is that 3 of you got stuck completely with the idea of superhero sitcom Summed up by Oak saying he just 'wanted more Jen Smash'. Same 3 couldnt grasp that its not going to have a story arc of global doom but be a comedy sitcom about a lawyer coming to terms with it HER way and not the stereotypical Oh, now i must be a superhero! 3 of you were disappointing in giving this an honest viewing due to the baggage you ALL brought with you 🤷♂️
At the very start of episode 1, Jen stated it’s “a fun lawyer show”. But people still watch it expecting an action show.
You guys should watch a female reactor do the same series on TH-cam and you might see what Oak was missing so much of, perspective.
@@darrenboyle1918why’s it matter if the reactors female?
It wasnt as fun lawyer show because the writers admited they knew nothing about law. It wasnt a good comedy because it was written by political activists shoehorning in "the message". And it wasnt a good action show because it was all lazy green screening with unintelegwnt and no heart acting.
Daredevil is the better lawyer lol
I'm seeing comments of people defending the show, stuff like ' you dont understsnd this and that' etc. The thing is it is OKAY to like a show or Movie that a majority of people don't.
Thank you fot this!
OK, what was wrong with this series is that, the head writer admitted that it was her intention to tick off their primary, majority male, fan base. Sure there were some fun moments. But the writing was weak. Good, quality writers know how to elevate one group of people, without degrading another.
I liked how they took the shot and maybe missed the mark but over All i enjoyed how different the show was.
