It's expecting a lot for an organization that required 15 FBI super detectives to distinguish the difference between a garage door pull rope and an unacceptable symbol of hatred, to make any decision for which they don't receive payment and can't shift the responsibility to someone else. Nascar is pathetic.

If Backmarkers consistently "Stunk Up " either Big Bill or Bill, Jr's shows they would have got a talking to they wouldn't soon forget!!!!! Guys like Preece and Stenhouse set the stage and NASCAR loved it, until Logano (crash to win) and Hamlin (cry baby to basher and back) and a lot of the very fans who come only to see "wrecks" weren't satisfied. NASCAR is imploding.

Problem is Dillion actually didn't break any rules..
We know this because A) there no rule against bumping Joey outta the way
      2) if the decision was based off the Hamlin contact, they've already set the precedent of a one race suspension..
They just don't want a driver setting in 32nd place ..in the playoffs.
But thier the ones that made the win your in .. stipulation.
Having the decision on race day would take away NASCAR control of the playoffs..
They would not be able to implement the rule they applied at a later date, if they made race day decisions..

I thought Joey Lagano was not in correct position during the restart as they approached the start line. I don't know why they didn't wave off the restart and force another restart. I don't get this lapse in officiating in-the-moment of the restart. The bump later wouldn't count anyway. BTW: didn't Joey Lagano bump someone to win in the last few years? I get it: this stage and playoff officiating is just getting to be too much for NASCAR incorporated to keep up with.

And with what I've read about Dilon potentially moving to management in the next 2 years and Kyle Busch leaving the cup series to go race in the truck series, I doesn't surprise me. I've watched NASCAR for over 20 years and seems now the rules have changed into NASCARS' rules, whatever decision they make at anytime. "Win your in" has been the motto since it started, but NASCAR rules changed that, probably influenced by the 2 drivers and owners that were wrecked out and whoever else. Wrecking is racing. I have seen drivers take chances and pay for it, but some prevail and end up winning. I remember when Stenhouse wrecked just about everyone on the track to win and he won, it was a fun race to watch. I agree with you, Herm. Also, and this is important, do you think you can get them to stop with the stupid front stretch interviews? Move the interviews back to victory lane where they are getting out of the car with the confetti flying. I hate the front stretch interviews.

The rule is clear: "race finishes must be unencumbered by actions detrimental to stock car racing". And yes, wrecking 2 cars to get a win is indeed "detrimental to stock car racing". End of story.

Hamlin wrecked himself. He said himself that he came up not expecting Dillon to be there

Your opinion. 9:06 I was impressed with AD. Finally after being everybody's punching bag for years runs excellent, no caution AD wins. Sad deal the restart infraction by Joe Lagono wasn't called.

This ruling is BS!!! Logano wrecked Truex to make it in to the playoffs on the last lap just a few years ago without any consequences whatsoever! He has wrecked cars several times just for the win! Hamlin has done the same thing several times as well! NASCAR created this scenario by implementing the GWC and the current points format! NASCAR actually wants things like this to happen! This must be appealed if NASCAR wants to be fair to all other drivers! If it is ok for Logano to do it then it should be ok for all other drivers to do it!

You're trying to equate apples and oranges. Dillon obviously crossed the line.

      Logano didn't come from
3 car lengths back and drive into the person. Austin wasn't competitive on the restart. If he got to the 22's bumper fairly then have at it but he didn't. It's a shame as the 3 was fast. If you can't put a whole race together you shouldn't win.

@@charlieb8104 After doing more research I discovered that Ross Chastain wrecked both Alex Bowman and A.J. Allmendinger on the final lap also to secure a playoff spot! Distance doesn't matter! If it is fair to put the bumper to another car to get the win for one driver then it should be fair for all of them. I am not arguing that what Dillon done was right! My argument is that if NASCAR is going to halfass enforce the rules then they need to step it up and be consistent about it! NASCAR should have let it go and held a drivers meeting and tell them that the rules are going to be enforced going forward for ALL drivers!

It was less about him dumping Logano. Everyone is stuck on that. It was the entirety of his actions. If he doesn’t dump Denny it’s not an issue.

@@ieronimo18 So you can define the line? NASCAR can't define it! They first said that Dillon toed the line and later said that he crossed it! Chastain wrecked Bowman and Allmendinger on the final lap in the recent past and there were no fines or penalties handed out! Where or what is the line? If one driver can put the bumper to another car on the final lap to get the win then all of them should be allowed to do so!

If you drove like that at your local go-kart track, you'd be banned for life. Not sure why people think it's okay to punt people off the track, but it's a terrible look, as a casual fan.
