I've been wanting to do more batching especially since my thumbnails have been taking me a lot of time lately and time is not something I have a lot of these days 😒
If you don't have a fancy backdrop with a popping colour, you can just cut yourself out in photoshop and put any background you want in! Simples! Saves having to go to a location to shoot 😜
Yes, I’ve done that when I wanted a different and more fun creative background that went with my topic. I also used PicMonkey to do it. If you don’t have Photoshop that’s a great option. It’s not as fancy as Photoshop but it gets the job done for non Photoshop peeps. 😉
I’m actually trying to batch my videos, but this idea of batching thumbnails is super super cool I’ve never thought of it. Thanks you guys are the best!
I have seen thousands of videos in this topic, but this one is the very best tip i have ever heard. Now i have a bunch of new Thumbnail images which helped me a lot. I used them to change nearly every old Thumbnail too. Great tip. 😍
Great point about keeping backgrounds simple, however I disagree about not putting text on the right as long as it's above the time stamp..sometimes the CTR is does better, so experiment. Love the idea of batching
I just started to batch shoot my videos recently, shot three videos these week, and one thing I do is after shooting I set up the camera and video myself doing different poses and emotions against a plain background so that I can easily cut myself out. Then I just do the snapshot in premier pro from that video because its really tough to shoot photos alone, and hiring a photographer can be expensive. I found doing the video trick to be a simple efficient way to get a bunch of different options. Also great tip about justifying yourself to the right, its the little things ya know!
Love this! ive got alot of video ive shot and am now focused on creating a thumbnail that will attract people to the video, this video helped a ton thank you!
Love how concise you delivered the information! I’m going to try a simple step to batch two videos and two thumbnails for next week. Then I will grow from there! Cannot wait to master this!
Good Afternoon, now, I don't batch process my videos, however after watching this video, I will certainly be batch processing my videos from now onwards. Next I have learned to batch process my podcasts episodes, from Pat Flynn, so all I need to do, is apply the same process to videos, and I will be sorted. Lastly, thank you think media for this amazing tip.
Excellent tutorial. This is one item of TH-cam that has taken me some time to figure out. It's hard to find software to make this happen. However, I don't want my thumbnails to look too commercial. Thanks for your video. Have a great day.
Salvatore Vinciguerra Besides Photoshop, which I had but is now too old for my new computer and can no longer use it without a subscription. Lol! In lieu of that I use PicMonkey to design my thumbnails and even crop out the backgrounds when I feel it fits with my video. It’s affordable and quite fun and effective to use for designing thumbnails. Also, in lieu of a photographer which is not practical for new Creators or smaller channels I’ve learned from a wonderful Beauty Guru to once you’ve finished filming your video turn your camera back on and film you posing for your thumbnail. I’m still in my video clothes/makeup, etc. and with my products I was filming with and either use my backdrop or my living room or I will crop it out in post if I feel it’s stylistically appropriate. I hope this helps. 👍
Also I forgot to mention, when I transfer my thumbnail video to my computer I just screen capture the poses and go from there ~ choosing the best poses and creating thumbnails through PicMonkey and then choosing the best one. I’ll make a couple using the design or design I like and then adding another thumbnail pic (that I’ve already edited for color etc.) and placing under the design pieces and saving. To create a number of choices of thumbnails to choose from. 😀
@@FitChickGlows Thanks for your help as I am struggling with this issue. I will check out the software and try out some of your techniques. Have a great day.
Salvatore Vinciguerra Oh my gosh! This is my last tip, I promise. Follow PicMonkey’s channel her and their newsletter to get tips and tricks on how to use it. 👍
Great tips! Thumbnails have always been the area I wanted to improve. I learned a few things from this video that will be implemented in my next video. Thank you
Never thought of batch shooting photos for thumbnails. I've been pulling thumbnail photos from my video clips. But sometimes I will use photos from older videos. I do however batch record. Will definitely try doing batch photos in the future! Great tips!!
Hey Think Media team hope you are doing great. I have a question that I'm a drummer and have my own TH-cam channel on which I upload Drum covers so the question is that i am getting Views and Subscribers both but then i am not getting more Likes so what can i do to grow my channel ?? Please help ??
Have you checked out my free TH-cam masterclass? I share my strategy for getting more views and subscribers in it and share how you can dominate on TH-cam this year. No pressure - just wanted to put it on your radar. You can register here if you're interested: ThinkMasterclass.com
Great insight here!! This is probably the clearest video I've watched on the topic!! I was bad to put myself on the left side of the frame for the longest time but have since changed. I do plan on batch shooting these as it's something I'm starting to do with my videos going forward.
This is TOO good!! I have always shot my thumbnail photos afterwards, when the project the tutorual is about is completed. I have one thumbnail (for my series) with me on it, but haven’t thought about anything else. I bet Sean really loves making all those faces!! I have batched my videos, but need to do that more. It’s actually easier and quicker!! Thanks so much for this awesome information!!😃🙌🏻
I like filming my thumbnails as I film my videos. So right after I’ve filmed my video and whilst I’m still in my outfit and have my products I’ve filmed about I restart my camera and film “still” shots ~ posing in front of the camera while it films me. I then get it on my computer and screen shot the poses. For me this is the best streamlined practice and works like a charm. I will then use the background I have whether an actual backdrop or my living room or if appropriate I may crop it all out and make my own fun background in PicMonkey. I don’t even need Photoshop to do that. Photoshop is powerful and when you have the skills (and the money to pay for the subscription, lol!) is much easier to crop the background out BUT in lieu of that I’ve used PicMonkey to great effect. A little more tedious to crop the background out but still quite effective. And a whole lot of fun to put a cool background in. When you’re on a low budget as a newbie and small channel still growing these are the ways we can do it without hiring photographers, etc. In time, in time. In the meantime great learning experience and skill/knowledge/creativity building. 😉
Bro I'm taking TH-cam A LOT more seriously and the content here is helping me a lot. Thank you! Question: How important are descriptions in videos? I find myself writing full blog posts for m videos but I'm not 100% sure its necessary.
Love these thumbnail tips!! Definitely going to try more batching for not only my videos, but photos too! Lately I’ve been batching videos and it’s helped so much to stay on top of my weekly upload schedule. 💙
Thanks so much for these tips! I batch PLAN and outline my videos, but my filming time is still pretty long, and I am not quite able to batch SHOOT videos. Hoping to get there really soon though!😃 🎥 I have been taking my photos when I film each video, but I think my time will be better spent batch shooting multiple photos to have on hand and READY for each new video!😀
Honestly a great video guys!! I finally go monitized a few weeks ago and I’ve been struggling with trying to figure out how to make thumbnails. It’s not as easy as it looks! Is there another way to edit a thumbnail besides photoshop??
So so helpful - tip 2...boom! So simple and yet so perfect. Never thought of that and now I search through it makes so much sense. Thanks for the vid 👍🏼👍🏼
