I was anticipating your reaction to Melanie. Her new album literally just came out "PORTALS", it's a completely new sound for Melanie and a new look too. Crybaby is the name of her debut album and the name of a character, whom she portrays in the music videos for the album crybaby and in the film/music videos for her second album K-12, so the first two albums are tied with a storyline, and in this album, there is a complete departure from the character crybaby (so it doesn't have much of a connection with the previous albums and EPs), crybaby the character has died and the spirit has been transformed into another form which is the pink fairy, and the new album is inspired by past life regression books that Melanie has been reading in recent years. I would highly recommend you check out her work from the beginning and in the correct order of songs and albums so you can understand the storyline. She literally a full length feature film alongside her second album K-12 that features musical numbers for all the songs of the album and a storyline with other characters and its beautiful. yes it is a come back, and their aestethic also changed A LOT i love it but not all the fans loved it wich idk I just like that new look even if it wasn't melanie martinez I do like that eaestethic but not everybody loved so idk, she was very known because of her split hair but i mean I don't miss it that much as other fans do because I think she looks cute now

Melanie wanted to end the Cry Baby character she was in her Cry baby album and music videos also her second album K-12, and the film she made, so hence the R.I.P crybaby at the beginning if the video. she wanted to start again, we've waited years for Melanie's come back, and she hasn't disappointed us with Portals.

Yup I figured. I am a big sia fan from when she came out with “breathe me” and she was just blonde. So makes sense Melanie did it prior to her doing it
