- Sad Really! Visiting GA because my brother passed away, navigating loss but still trying to enjoy time with the family all together. We headed to Augusta GA and explored life in a. southern town! I’m so sorry for your loss! I can’t imagine what it feels like to lose a sibling. Sometimes life is bittersweet, and it’s ok to mix joy with sorrow and mourning.
Funny enough, I was watching one of your first videos where you discussed the move to San Diego. Wow! As a fellow New Yorker, You are so spot on with almost everything, especially California’s “diversity”. I also grew up with the lie that there is so much diversity here in Cali, at least in San Diego, not really. LA or SF, maybe, but nothing like the NYC/Tri-State area. I also needed to “slow it down” with pretty much everything!! 😂 Love it here but it’s nice to see there is somebody else here that I can relate to that loves it enough to move 3,000 miles but also can relate to me! As a fellow luxury retail person and know how small the retail world is, maybe we will cross paths one day!

I'm so sorry for your loss. Your brother went before his time, but I am sure he will do great things in heaven.Too bad you couldn't visit me and my family in Miami, Florida, though. I certainly know the hot weather. We frequently have over 100 degrees with the heat index because of our humidity. That coffee shop reminds me of some I have been to in Boston. They feel very homey. I just remembered I have family living in Marietta, Georgia. Not sure how far that is from Augusta, but its just north of Atlanta. I remember how beautiful Georgia was last time I visited, which was many years ago. You certainly have a sweet and welcoming family. 🙏 😢. I am lost for words at the moment. Just wishing you peace and there are some words from a song that brought my wife some peace when her mom passed a few years ago. Its odd that god sometimes takes the good ones first, but if I could just speak to you one more time even if it's just to hear you say, "Don't cry for me, I'm alright, I'm better than you know, and this life can be a short ride, so don't waste it on sorrow and just hold on to those moments and the memories we shared. We're both headed for the same place anyway.

Also bless you for walkingggg from that coffee shop and then to the river walk. I always drive no matter the distance lol. If you haven’t go to the Savannah Rapids it’s so pretty. And the downtown of north Augusta, has alot of cute shops and stuff. There a few things I miss being from Augusta but I absolutely do not miss that heat girl. I was there in March-April and I took so many random showers lol. I think the pictures things is such a common Guyanese thing. Bc mom’s house looks the same lol she has so many pictures in her home as well. It was so nice hearing some of the Guyanese names of things. Drooling at your mom’s cooking as well! I’m currently to 4.5 months pregnant and all I’ve been wanting and enjoying is Guyanese foods. Congrats to your sister as well on the babies!🎉

Also what you mentioned about the vibes in the south is accurate. Me and my hubs said the same thing. After living on the west coast we felt it a lot more visiting back there. It’s not that welcoming. Sad thing is we weren’t aware of how it was until we left and went back.

It would be awesome to learn about Guyana food, music, culture, etc... as I know nobody from there.
Hahaha I feel like I would be a poor teacher. I moved here when I was 10 and to be honest I’m def into Guyanese food. Music not so much and culture is mostly so far behind me. I hope to go visit some day soon though and of course I would def take you guys along
