David is sooooooooooooooooo cute. I only bath my guinea pigs is this is a medical need, or if they peed on each other. Figgy is my fav wish we could see more of her. I saw a comment that said stuff about heating pads, and during the winter I normally put my heating pad underneath the cage on half the cage so if they get hot they can move, and if they get cold they can curl up anywhere on that side
I will occasionaly take the toilette paper roll and sometimes stuff it with their lettuice and peppers. just to change it up, but I do that alot with hay and my three girls LOVE it, because it's something different,

I use a little tub and fill it with enough warm water to go up to their little ankles. I put some anti-fungal shampoo in it so that its working on their feet while I'm rubbing the shampoo on their body. You can see the ick when I dump the water. I do a short quick 2nd rinse directly massaging antifungal shampoo into the feet and toes and on the face since those are common areas for potential fungus. They usually let me wash them if I hold their bodies like a football across my arm. Of course I'm soaking wet at the end of both pigs. Lol

My guinea pigs love the paper roll hays. Sometimes as a fun surprise for them I'll put forage in the middle of the hay before I put it into the roll.

I saw that Saskia said we can wash our piggies 2 times a year at the very least and 4 times a year at the very maximum. She also said that they really aren’t self cleaning and it’s just a myth. I can tell you which video she says it in if you want.

I’m in Florida and when I bathe my piggies, I just turn off the AC in their area so that I can just rub them dry really well and then put them in their cage still damp. (I deal with chronic pain from a car accident and this is a good way that I’m able to keep them clean and safe.)
My girls ignore the tp rolls, unless I stuff them with lettuce, then put hay at either end. Then they will attack the roll and drag it around until they get everything out.

I find my piggies are a bit more relaxed if i blow dry them while sat on the couch/on my lap, also i don't use the concentrator nozzle on the hairdryer so the heat is a bit more spread out (i shield their eyes with my other hand when i'm drying around their heads). I've had to bathe mine a fair few times as they are longer haired, it gets easier :)

you can also stuff the toilet paper roll with hay and then stuff a pea flake in with the hay and have them try to find the pea flake and try to get it out. sorry that might not make sense! just a suggestion!

Recently I purchased a small bag or orchard hay as a treat for my piggies. I use that hay in the toilet paper tube and they really seem to enjoy it. It’s just an occasional treat but they have a blast. I also sometimes give them empty toilet paper tubes and they toss it around or just chew it.
I bathe my piggies every 6 months as well but my trick tends to be to pick a nice warn day and then they can go on the grass in their outdoor playpen and I'll maybe read a book while they dry. 😀
David ‘ wait what is bath day?! 👀💕” Sasha , toilet paper roll is the best , I saved some from my hamster gathers for tunnels , peppa loves hay in her bed. I have same toys for peppa & (bunny) moonlight.

i have one long hair pig and one short hair pig so when we go to the vet we ask her when we should give them a bath they usually say 1 a month or 1 every 2 months

Hi @guineapigjungle I use the same Beaphar Ivermectin on my piggies, my vet says to use it every 3 months as a preventative and every month if they need treatment. It's a Godsend; when we brought home a new piggie who had mites the others were completely unaffected while she was treated. Would definitely use as a preventative if your vet thinks it's needed.

We bathed ours if their bums and feet got too dirty. I have yet to find a pig that likes it lol. Our lightest pig, the Princess Abyssinian LOVED to leap onto my sister's chest while she was bathed ;D She was like if I'm getting all wet SO ARE YOU XD As for hair-drying, yeah they liked the heat but the blowing bit freaked them out so food and cuddles. ;>

Love this video ❤ I live in a cold country, so my piggies often tremble after a bath (specially the seniors). To help them warm up I have bought an electric heating pad. I bend it up like a tipi and put them inside. Or put it under them with a regular pee pad on top. It's just important to keep the cord out of the way, and to only use it on low setting.

I have long hair pigs, so I bathe once a month with non scented shampoo. My vet said it was totally fine. 💜

I have a hay box it has love heart shared holes for the hay to go in so I have 2 of them there quiet a good size and they can play and pull out their hay and also chew the box made with hay so I use that rather than the toilet roll but if I didn't have the boxes I would have certainly done the toilet roll holder thing xx good one xx

I like the explonation, piggies would not live in their own poop and pee. So in nature they don't need to baith.
My US Teddys have often really dry skin bathing helps them.

Think saskia says that when vets do a skin scraping it often comes back saying that they don't have mites when they do, she treats them with ivermectin anyway. My Zag had mammary tumour removed with no problems, I hope it's nothing serious. Mine love hay and dried herbs stuffed in kitchen rolls.

I love ❤️ the way that you held him in your hand when washing him and your sink is shallow so he can see out when you are washing him some people don’t realize that when they can’t see out of the sink it scares them when they can’t see if there is a predator or not the reason i know this is because when I first got my baby squeakers I had put her in one of the containers that you cannot see though and day three she ran so very fast around that she was nocking into her little hide i took her out right away I put her in to a smaller cage that she could see out of and she was fine and the next day I got her a new cage that she was able to see out of it, but I remember when it’s pig’s would give Spaghetti a bath he was scared they had a deep sink and poor spaghetti was begging them to let him out of there some guinea pigs can’t handle being down in some places ware they can’t see what’s out there because pray animals are always on the lookout for the predator i just wish that they could have bathed Spaghetti like you did a beautiful job here with David

How many times should you bathe your guinea pig because mine really need a bath but they live outside and my mum always says we’re doing summer and we never did in the summer so she won’t let me do it now in case they’re not fully dry and get to cold so I just wanna know how many times they need doing a year

I don’t know how you do it 11 pigs I couldn’t I don’t have pigs but I have rabbits I had 5 and they were free roamed in a room and they just kept popping and peeing everywhere and they cost so much as I’m only 12 I gave two away last week so now I have three with is much better
My guys hate grain free stuff so I also have to mix a mediocre mix with a higher quality brand. If they eat it I'm happy, piggies don't give a huge leeway on trying foodstuffs they gots ta eat.

I was wondering if someone could answer my question I have 2 Guinea pigs and they are boys is it ok if they are not neutered they are not baby’s they are adults
Hi! I am not an expert but in theory it should be fine that they are not neutered. Males and Guinea pigs in general can grow up together and then the older they get can stop getting along. Neutering can help in some ways… but overall I think it’s mostly up to the pigs and their personalities whether or not they get along.🐹✌🏼

It’s said that it’s easier to pair 2 females. But I would just research and see what other people say.
And yes I think 2x6 should be good. If you are worried you can google that as well and it will tell you what about of space per how many pigs.

Hi! I personally have never had a pig with mites but from what I understand the box I showed in this video is what people use for prevention. As for shampoo to use once they have mites I do not know. I’m sorry!
