    Finally, Maya brings some features to it that were present in Max all along. But by this time, i've already learnt to do it the hard way.

    Thanks for this very informative video! You're a great teacher. Sweep Tool is an amazing addition to Maya 2022! and a literal selling point for me along with Quad Draw and Retopo and Grouping system and the outliner. Those tools made me decide to switch from Blender to Maya (I'm currently saving up for Maya Indie) which is $265 a year, that is not bad, to be honest! everything works logically better in Maya than it does in blender but both tools are great! for my workflow, I prefer Maya for others they prefer Blender both are great either way!

    Is it Possible to animate this. Like an animated sweep?

    hey i have a question. I have been modelling in blender and one of the things i really liked is for example if i want to model a railway which is curved or something else, i could just create three scaled cubes then create a curve along which to extrude and then finally add an array modifier and then curve modifier to create anything curvy in no time. In maya i tried sweep mesh and extrude custom profile, which you did not exaplin and i tried a ton of custom made objects to be extude along the curve but it said that my objects had no closed borders so nothing got extruded. Why is this a problem?

    When I use the custom tool and text face for sweep mesh the text displays reversed.

    So I assume Sweep Mesh can generate NURBS ( that is surfaces )?
    If it can't then it won't replace the tools in the surface menu.

    • @naseemjafarian8423
      @naseemjafarian8423 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If working with NURBS is part of the studio pipeline then the answer is no, this tool won't replace Surface Modeling tools. But not many studios consider having use non-polygonal models as part of their pipeline. Even with Extrude Surface the polygon option box is preferred over Nurbs and that's what this tool is all about. Bottom line is if you aim poly modeling this tool replaces Extrude Surface.

    • @sarkamari
      @sarkamari  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@naseemjafarian8423 That's exactly right Nasem. Studio pipeline does dictate what tool is preferred and why. I personally never generate NURBS out of Surface modeling tools. With Sweep tool I don't even need to think about the conversion. Good job Autodesk

    sir please I have a request, I don't know where to find that tutorial or how to search it, recently pwnisher vfx aka Clinton jones announced a rendering challenge, and in that he gave us a guy with a dragging animation and a sphere in the background. I wanted the guy model to drag an asset with the strings/rope on his back and I wanted the rope to act like a real rope, but I don't know how to do it so I did with keyframes :( it was jaggy but I managed. can u please make a tutorial on that, please I request you, there are thousands of tutorials for blender but none for Maya ( luckily I found you I hope you help me and any guy who is looking for such a tutorial)
