The weight of people not to end up like Erika solely depends on Annelise’s shoulders and her marrying someone she doesn’t love. In the song To Be A Princess we get a small glimpse on how she’s taught all this protocol and to bottle up and hide her true feelings for the sake of her people. IF it had come down to it I bet she would have even married Preminger to save her kingdom from poverty.
