What is Ascending Cholangitis?

Ascending cholangitis is infection of the bile ducts. It is characterized by classic symptoms. Charcot's triad-fever, RUQ pain, and jaundice. Reynold's pentad includes two extra symptoms-hypotension and altered mental status.
