The 757 is an icon. Almost 40 years after the first one flew, there's still no other airliner that can do what it can do. 😎 And the sound of those engines spooling up is as great as that of any symphony. This is among the most spectacular of your releases in terms of the scenery. The climb out past Honolulu, and the way that it and the Oahu recede into the distance amid all of the clouds hugging the mountains, was just breathtaking. Another of the many things that is great about this channel is the absence of any music or narrative, or any sounds other than that of those magnificent engines, and the other sounds of flight. That is by far all the only "soundtrack" that is necessary. As always, superb work by Skylite Productions!
Thanks my friend. As always, I’m glad you enjoy the contents. My number one goal is to have my content be as close to the real thing as possible for the viewers. Like you mentioned, no extra sound, narration, etc. Just the flight, and as high-quality as possible, so that you and everyone else feels like you took that flight with me. I’m glad you enjoy that! Thanks for watching!
I was watching an interview Captain Joe had with retired air traffic controller Kennedy Steve and he called the 757 the controller's favorite because it was such a hot rod.
This is my favorite video you have made so far. The white noise is the most balanced left to right, the engine hum is perfect, only 2 baby cries, no one talking. Its the perfect nap time YT video.
I watch these videos to fight against my fear of flying. This takeoff would make me totally freak out. My brain is not made to understand how it is possible to make a turn 100ft above the ground. My body instantly thinks “this is my last moment” - even watching this makes me sweat.
Well my friend. I hope it helps when I tell you that many people have left similar comments. And many of them have come back months, even years later, and left new comments saying they have overcome those fears and anxieties by doing exactly what you're doing. So keep at it my friend. Also, don't ever hesitate to ask any questions about what you're seeing or hearing. There are no stupid questions here and I'm always happy to help explain what is happening when you see or hear something and want to know what you're seeing. I will always reply and answer them.
I was gonna fly to Lihue, HI from SeaTac via Delta in November to spend Thanksgiving with my parents living on Kauai but I changed my plans and decided to go to western NY and have Thanksgiving with my sister instead, at least I know it's easier and cheaper to rent a car in NY.
Why is it people like us love the sound of the engines spooling up while other people are completely disinterested? I guess our brains our wired differently. It's fascinating. Amazing video as always!
Hhmmm I literally thought this was the same video from before😅😂😂? Because I thought I saw the same background that you flew with A321neo from HNL to LAX😂
I love the 757, even on the long hawaii routes, but I've always hated that they never updated their etops and some -nw 757-200s with the newer tvs, it doesn't help especially when the wifi is down and the tv won't work
The crew came through a second time with water and coffee, but I already had a bottle of water so I didn't get any. For snacks, yes, there was only one service.
amazing how these craft can store fuel for several hours of flight. you know how much engines consume per minute? tons of fuel. w tons of output. a marvel of engineering.
I've noticed they use 8L for early morning departures more frequently than others. I've taken United, American, Delta and Southwest early before. Like 7:30am or earlier, and they often use 8L. After that, once planes start flowing in from the other islands and the mainland, it seems like they send most of the departures to 8R and use 8L for arrivals. Just my observation having flown in and out of there so much. Thanks for watching my friend!
This is just an optical illusion caused by the camera's frame rate. The camera only takes so many frames per second, and sometimes, it syncs up with the fan blades. In other words, the fan is still spinning really fast, but the camera is taking 60 pictures per second. Every time the camera takes one of those 60 pictures, the fan blades just happen to be in the same position. So, it gives the appearance the fan blades aren't moving, when in reality, they're still spinning super fast. Thanks for watching my friend!
Nope. Still running strong in the Delta fleet. Both the 200 and 300 variants. American retired all of their 757's. Perhaps you're thinking of that. Thanks for watching!
I film all of my videos by hand. I do not use mounts. This ensures the smoothest, best quality, final picture. And because of that, there are always some small cuts in my full fight videos. But we are talking about minutes having been cut. This is to take short breaks, and to order food from the flight attendant, etc. So if you feel that a few minutes of a 4.5 hour flight being cut for quality purposes isn’t the full flight, then that’s fine. But that’s why. Thanks for watching!
@@sla31ok, i respect that, but ig you can put a small disclaimer on second hand, i know i may have somewhat offended you, i dont mean to do that, sorry if i really offended you, im just a bit too brutally honest
No, it did not. So, this is an 8L departure. The runway that's been close for awhile now for resurfacing. I'm not sure if it's opened up again yet, but regardless it's the runway right next to the terminals. Typically, it's used for arrivals and departures are sent to 8R (the reef runway). However, before it was close for resurfacing, it was very common for morning departures to use it instead of taxiing all the way to the reef runway. The arrival stream of aircraft is much slower in the morning at HNL which gives the controllers more room to send aircraft out on 8L and cut down on their taxi times.
A lot of it has to do with the equipment you sue to film with. It's like the old saying goes. All thumbs are fingers, but not all fingers are thumbs. Well, new cameras can shoot 4K, but not all 4K cameras can shoot it equally. I use iPhone 12 Pros to film with right now. I'll be upgrading to 13 Pros sometime in the next couple of months. They have what Apple cals "built in - cinematic stabilization." This means they are, in real time, adjusting the shot for small movements. This type of real time stabilization isn't cheap, which is one of the reasons why iPhones cost so much. They're still overpriced, but they're good pieces of technology. GoPro calls their real time stabilization something like "ultra-smooth stabilization." The bottom line is, if you buy a good camera with built in stabilization, it helps a lot.
I see “757”, I stop what I’m doing and come 👌

The only thing better is when the L-1011 Tri jet Rolls Royce engines would startup. You knew power was in those machine.
FINALLY ANOTHER 757 FLIGHT!
Flew on the 757-200 about a year ago. Really awesome plane and wish to fly on it again.

Those engines sound like music to my ears!
Nice, taking delta 757-300 to sfo from Atlanta in 2 weeks
I've flown Delta 757's and 767's from Tampa to Las Vegas twice. Beautiful flying over the Grand Canyon!

Wow 😮
I actually flew out of HNL yesterday!!!! its a very beautiful departure Safe travels !!!!

Thank you for filming the whole flight!
No problem my friend. Thanks for watching!
I see a 757...I hit the like button. Throw Honolulu into the mix, and well...I'll just get some popcorn and be right back. :)
Been taking this flight since the 80s, take two drams pop in ear plugs and sleep like a baby for 6 hrs.😁
Great Video. Thank You For Posting.

I always love the noise of these aircrafts, gorgeous sounds but very loud lol.
I saw this plane takeoff from my house! (Also are you based in hawaii?)
Engine looks good
Great views of HNL. Between you and me, I'd rather do this flight the other way and spend a nice long vacation in Hawaii.
Can’t argue with that! Thanks for watching my friend!
Do you request or pay specifically for that seat near the engine?
Yes, when I book my flights I specifically pick, and pay extra for if needed, the seats I want to get the best shots.

ETOPS certification begins from day one and ends when the plane is grounded.
Delta should have flown their retrojet 757 on a few routes before retirement.
That's a cool plane
How about filming Hong Kong to LAX... 16 hours of sky and ocean.
Seems Delta doesn't believe in nostalgia liveries as this is an ex-NWA bird. Welcome back to the mainland !
I dont get it, is this camera on a stand ? think my arm would get tired of holding for 4 dam hours !

It's rare Honolulu uses runway 8L for departures. Ordinarily they use 8R (reef runway). Those RR engines sound cool.
