Captain Cold is a great villain for not just being Mr. Freeze 2. He's got more to him outside of "Ice" and "My wife!". He leads the other Flash villains in a way that makes what seems like goofy powers into a formidable force. And given who their rival actually is, The Fuckin' Flash, that's impressive. His gun is also massively different from just "Make ice" as well. Cold constantly works on the thing and makes new ones out of household junk. And yes he can do basic freezing shit but he can also control what freezes (like he freezes your skin solid but keeps your insides normal) or project a field of cold that pretty much stops heat and friction, Absolute Zero. Reading his stories, it's pretty damn amazing how he goes from two bit thug to using his brain and making a real name for himself.

I'm baffled none of them realized the real reason the cast is weirder this time is because half the characters are the cast of DCEU movies (JL members, Harley, Deadshot, Joker, etc) and the other half is from the CW shows (Supergirl, Black Canary, Firestorm, the Flash villains). plus Blue Beetle (who has been in Young Justice and recent DC animated movies) and Scarecrow and Ivy (because Arkham Knight happened last year I guess) the only ACTUAL out-of-nowhere pulls for the fans are Dr. Fate, Swamp Thing, Atrocitus and Cheetah. and the rest are Braniac (cause he the big bad this time) and returning characters

The best part about Dex-Starr (the Red Lantern cat) is that he's apparently the most ferocious and malicious members of their respective corp. He's super violent and into the rage aspect of the corp, and he just loves annihilating enemies. His origin is super sad, though.
Pat, just to let you know: the reason the Flash's villains are so big is this game is most likely because the TV show and its universe are such a big hit. Also Flash has a pretty silly, if not interesting, rogues gallery...especially since he has a group of thieves literally called the Rogues (lead by Cold no less)!
The deal with Firestorm to my knowledge is that he can control subatomic particles or some shit and basically manipulate matter, in one case when he was a Black Lantern zombie he turned a person into salt though I believe he normally can't mess with organic matter so he can't just turn people completely into an inorganic substance and kill them. The first Firestorm was essentially the reverse Spiderman, a well meaning jock who some nerdy fuck kept belittling when he tried to impress a girl so in an effort to appear smart he went to join in on a protest of a nuclear plant being built but then found out the protestors were going to blow the plant up and tried to stop them, getting knocked out and tied up in the plant along with the lead scientist who was trying to make infinite clean energy or some shit (you would get better info from the comics or wiki tbh). The plant gets blown up but due to comic book magic, the radiation that results in it ends up fusing the kid and scientist together to form one entity, Firestorm who has the physique of the jock and the intelligence of the scientist which allows him to understand how to rearrange matter and create and manipulate shit. I think his power could be best described as an FMA alchemist on steroids. Eventually this version of Firestorm would be killed when he gets stabbed through the chest during an event comic, the stab to the chest didn't kill him because I believe he is essentially an energy being while Firestorm but he's Firestorm the NUCLEAR Man and his body was ruptured so he had to fly far into the sky before he blew up and killed everyone in the surrounding area. Later a black kid became the new Firestorm, Blackest Night happened and Black Lantern FS turned his GF into salt, then he got resurrected and he and the new kid were fused to become Firestorm but the new one didn't like the first one because of the earlier mentioned murder of his girlfriend though as a Black Lantern, the first Firestorm was merely a corpse programed with his memories and personalities but also with intent to kill any living being so it wasn't really his fault that it happened. I think now DC is trying to meld both versions together, ironically enough, so I think the kid portion of FS is the black kid but he merges with the scientist instead of the jock kid but I don't know for sure. Blue Beetle, the one in this game is the 3rd BB, following Ted Kord BB who was the inspiration for Nite Owl in Watchmen. Basically the 1st BB, who was a WW2 era hero I believe so he was goofy and bullshit, was powered by a 'mystical' blue scarab that granted him all his powers. Eventually Ted would take on the mantle when I believe he tried to help the first BB on a mission to stop a robot and the first BB died so he felt guilty and took the mantle in his honor but he never got a hold of the scarab so he had to rely on gadgets to fight crime. I think he eventually acquires the scarab but either its not working for him or he doesn't feel comfortable using it so he gives it to Shazam, the old wizard guy, not the actual Captain Marvel. Later when attempting to stop plot to kill/control all super humans and getting himself captured by the one in charge, a guy who has the ability to control minds, Ted is offered to join him but tells the dude to fuck off so the guy shoots him in the face, killing him. In another event comic, Shazam's base of operations is destroyed and pieces fly down to earth and one thing that flies down to Earth is the scarab which lands on a Spanish kid named Jaime Reyes(?) and embeds it into his spine, granting him all its abilities. It is later revealed that it isn't magical at all but a powerful alien weapon on the same power level as a Green Lantern ring and its sentient. Jaime, after forcibly vanishing after 2 years, works to fix his normal life as well as becoming a super hero, being one of the rare few that actually trusts his family enough to tell them hes a super hero. He actually ends up stopping the aliens who made the scarab from taking over the planet, the aliens themselves doing away with typical invasion tactics and instead pretending to be allies, going for the long haul of slowly making Earth dependant on them so they gain control without a fight but BB tells the world about their true goal. From what I have seen of him, he's actually a pretty cool character, I'd watch Linkara's retrospective of him and the other versions for a better explanation of him.
Harley Quinn is the best when she's Harleen. Injustice is the perfect example of this. She broke free of the Joker's influence and becomes a solo act. She's neither good or evil. She just looks out for herself and her friends (namely Ivy.) When the world is in danger she steps up to the plate to smash some skulls in with her giant hammer and her two pups. I love her dearly.

Pat wasn't too far away from the truth with his Blue Beetle question. Alan Moore wanted to use Blue Beetle and The Question and others seeing DC just got the rights to them. DC was afraid they would no longer be able to use them so they asked him to use original characters. Only difference is that Blue Beetle became Nite Owl and not Dr Manhattan, Captain Atom was the inspiration for him.

about 2 minutes in and they already have something wrong. Legendary. Guys the stats on the gear as well as character level only come into play during multiverse events and like the arcade mode. All online play balances the characters to the same level and removes the stat bonuses of gear.
Somebody Else I've played player matches where a dude was level 17 and I was 4 and it made me level 17. mabye just the stats from gear still apply, but it didn't feel like he was doing extra damage or I was doing less. it probably just allows you to use the alternate moves.

How many stories have been told about flying bricks, who are the strongest thing in the setting, snapping and going evil, or being evil from the beginning? The best part about Dex-Starr (the Red Lantern cat) is that he's apparently the most ferocious and malicious members of their respective corp. He's super violent and into the rage aspect of the corp, and he just loves annihilating enemies. His origin is super sad, though.

Pat, just to let you know: the reason the Flash's villains are so big is this game is most likely because the TV show and its universe are such a big hit. Also Flash has a pretty silly, if not interesting, rogues gallery...especially since he has a group of thieves literally called the Rogues (lead by Cold no less)!
The deal with Firestorm to my knowledge is that he can control subatomic particles or some shit and basically manipulate matter, in one case when he was a Black Lantern zombie he turned a person into salt though I believe he normally can't mess with organic matter so he can't just turn people completely into an inorganic substance and kill them. The first Firestorm was essentially the reverse Spiderman, a well meaning jock who some nerdy fuck kept belittling when he tried to impress a girl so in an effort to appear smart he went to join in on a protest of a nuclear plant being built but then found out the protestors were going to blow the plant up and tried to stop them, getting knocked out and tied up in the plant along with the lead scientist who was trying to make infinite clean energy or some shit (you would get better info from the comics or wiki tbh). The plant gets blown up but due to comic book magic, the radiation that results in it ends up fusing the kid and scientist together to form one entity, Firestorm who has the physique of the jock and the intelligence of the scientist which allows him to understand how to rearrange matter and create and manipulate shit. I think his power could be best described as an FMA alchemist on steroids. Eventually this version of Firestorm would be killed when he gets stabbed through the chest during an event comic, the stab to the chest didn't kill him because I believe he is essentially an energy being while Firestorm but he's Firestorm the NUCLEAR Man and his body was ruptured so he had to fly far into the sky before he blew up and killed everyone in the surrounding area. Later a black kid became the new Firestorm, Blackest Night happened and Black Lantern FS turned his GF into salt, then he got resurrected and he and the new kid were fused to become Firestorm but the new one didn't like the first one because of the earlier mentioned murder of his girlfriend though as a Black Lantern, the first Firestorm was merely a corpse programed with his memories and personalities but also with intent to kill any living being so it wasn't really his fault that it happened. I think now DC is trying to meld both versions together, ironically enough, so I think the kid portion of FS is the black kid but he merges with the scientist instead of the jock kid but I don't know for sure.
Blue Beetle, the one in this game is the 3rd BB, following Ted Kord BB who was the inspiration for Nite Owl in Watchmen. Basically the 1st BB, who was a WW2 era hero I believe so he was goofy and bullshit, was powered by a 'mystical' blue scarab that granted him all his powers. Eventually Ted would take on the mantle when I believe he tried to help the first BB on a mission to stop a robot and the first BB died so he felt guilty and took the mantle in his honor but he never got a hold of the scarab so he had to rely on gadgets to fight crime. I think he eventually acquires the scarab but either its not working for him or he doesn't feel comfortable using it so he gives it to Shazam, the old wizard guy, not the actual Captain Marvel. Later when attempting to stop plot to kill/control all super humans and getting himself captured by the one in charge, a guy who has the ability to control minds, Ted is offered to join him but tells the dude to fuck off so the guy shoots him in the face, killing him. In another event comic, Shazam's base of operations is destroyed and pieces fly down to earth and one thing that flies down to Earth is the scarab which lands on a Spanish kid named Jaime Reyes(?) and embeds it into his spine, granting him all its abilities. It is later revealed that it isn't magical at all but a powerful alien weapon on the same power level as a Green Lantern ring and its sentient. Jaime, after forcibly vanishing after 2 years, works to fix his normal life as well as becoming a super hero, being one of the rare few that actually trusts his family enough to tell them hes a super hero. He actually ends up stopping the aliens who made the scarab from taking over the planet, the aliens themselves doing away with typical invasion tactics and instead pretending to be allies, going for the long haul of slowly making Earth dependant on them so they gain control without a fight but BB tells the world about their true goal. From what I have seen of him, he's actually a pretty cool character, I'd watch Linkara's retrospective of him and the other versions for a better explanation of him.

Harley Quinn is the best when she's Harleen. Injustice is the perfect example of this. She broke free of the Joker's influence and becomes a solo act. She's neither good or evil. She just looks out for herself and her friends (namely Ivy.) When the world is in danger she steps up to the plate to smash some skulls in with her giant hammer and her two pups. I love her dearly.

DC was afraid they would no longer be able to use them so they asked him to use original characters. Only difference is that Blue Beetle became Nite Owl and not Dr Manhattan, Captain Atom was the inspiration for him.

about 2 minutes in and they already have something wrong. Legendary. Guys the stats on the gear as well as character level only come into play during multiverse events and like the arcade mode. All online play balances the characters to the same level and removes the stat bonuses of gear.
No it doesn't. Normal online play has gear bonuses active, only ranked disables them.
Somebody Else I've played player matches where a dude was level 17 and I was 4 and it made me level 17. mabye just the stats from gear still apply, but it didn't feel like he was doing extra damage or I was doing less. it probably just allows you to use the alternate moves.
You do get changed to the same level, but gear stats matter, that's what NRS said prior to release at least
