The beauty of being able to dig up and move without destroying them is so nice. Such a lovely variety! This is what I try to keep in mind…things can be relocated! Sometimes I stress about crowding.

I do agree with you on the stress about crowding. The down side of being successful. Relocating is an easy way to get a new look too, especially in my limited space. Thanks for your comment 🥰

Would it be beneficial to trim the plant down before doing this?

Thanks for your suggestion! Yes, it would be. Since I am sending these to 2 gardener friends, by leaving the top intact, there will be less drying giving them more time to plant in their new home.

Wish we could grow them…We went with Cat’s Pajamas nepeta after a couple tries but perhaps we will try again with a different variety like Phenomenal. Thanks for the tips!

Too bad that they do not do well in your zone 5 weather. Hope you have luck in finding an alternative. 💪🏻💪🏻

    Why not use a shovel?

Good question. 👍🏻 I find fork lift up less soil. Not only is it easier ( less physical ), it disrupt less for other nearby plants than a shovel. I did not want to impact the roses behind the lavender- hence fork instead of shovel. I use shovel when I need a bigger root ball and when there is less plants around. Thanks for your question.
