- This is my adaptable version of March of the Shadows, arranged in response to COVID-19. You’ll need at least on instrument on each part to perform this in the following instrumentation:
Line A Flute/Oboe/Clarinet/Trumpet/Mallets
Line B Flute/Oboe/Clarinet/Alto Saxophone/Tenor Saxophone/Trumpet/Mallets
Line C Alto Saxophone/Tenor Saxophone/Horn
Line D Bassoon/Bass Clarinet/Baritone Saxophone/Trombone/Euphonium T.C. and B.C.
Line E Bassoon/Bass Clarinet/Baritone Saxophone/Euphonium T.C. and B.C./Tuba
Percussion Snare Drum, Bass Drum, Timpani, Cymbals/Triangle, Glock./Xylophone

that trombone part is so powerful!

Very good, I really like evil and ominous toned music (which is what I try to write when I compose music). Any tips on composing? I am a young composer seeking knowledge.
P.S. I no nothing about cords, all I know is that cords are very important.
Thanks for your kind words! My first piece of advice is to write for your friends :) Just writing something and hearing it will give you a lot of feedback. Also, study scores. And, write for the instrument you already know how to play! Also, keep in mind that darker sounds don't necessarily communicate evil. Ominous maybe yes! March of the Shadows is about the idea of following, as shadows do. It's not meant to communication immorality or wickedness (the definition of evil)! So that's my last piece of advice: when you write, it's good to know what you are hoping to communicate!
