    I'm trying to imagine how big a screwdriver you would need if the body of the real ones were really attached like the models. 😀

    Hello Pauline, Rick and Bobby! I must say I look forward every Sunday morning to seeing your latest video. By the way it’s great to see Bobby again! Where’s Lola? I believe Wrenn did not added the very small windows on the class 20? Was because being metal it would be very difficult to remove the flash from the body. I had a playcraft train set from Woolies in Canning Town, I must have been about 10. Happy Days. Keep safe and see you all next week. Harry

      The class 20 was one of the few plastic bodied locomotives that Hornby Dublo made and also did not have the forward facing windows. Not that Hornby Dublo collectors want to draw much attention to the windowless cost cutting they did with the model.
      Wrenn continued making locomotives in the same plastic material body that Hornby Dublo did and did not go to any extra effort for the forward facing windows.

      @wellchuffedrailways  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @johnd8892 I'm sure I read somewhere that Wrenn had to retool the class 20 body. Sounds like they missed an opportunity there.

    At 15:19 about Wrenn class 20 windows. Not just Wrenn , it was how Hornby Dublo did it and Wrenn inherited that issue.
    So Hornby Dublo is to blame mostly.

    Great video, stunned me for a start change of seating position, Iren sez Pauline's in the right chair now, Drivers seat. I also like 31s mines Tri ang and Airfix. Anyway enjoyed that laugh or to along the way, you both always comfortable behind camera whether out and about or at home. All the best

      Yes I think that will be a permanent change. I have a couple of Airfix and Triang 31's. They make the Lima one seem very quiet!

    A black one question at 3:44 about the Wrenn 08.
    Yes I have one lettered in LMS black. Wrenn simulating the predessor of the 08 without going to the trouble of smaller wheels etc. Later class 11 I think.
    Remember it well since I bought a new bargain one due to it being missing the screw in side plate with the springing detail. Half price meant it was far less than a smokey Joe in Melbourne's leading model train supplier at the time. They gave us bargains for the whole Wrenn range partly due to being very unimpressed with Hornby marketing and margins in Australia.

    Nice set of buys, R & P! The one that gets me though is the first steamer. How can a model have that big a boiler and not have the motor in there? lol I liked the blue boxcar (ferry van, I think you called it?). That was sharp. Cheers. I wish I had a shop or even toy store to share, but none around and it would be an 8 hour flight and 2-3 hour drive to get to the closest. lol

      Hornby used a tender drive to save costs as they could use the same motors in diesel and steam. Thankfully they have since reverted to loco drive again. All the best Rick

    Nice fleet of locomotives, you need to get American SD40-2 I see you look at them all the time when you're out and about. The SD40-2 is the backbone of the United States work horse found in more railroad yards than any Diesel locomotive. SD40-2 can in Real Life push pull 60 freight cars alone, look it up online get a better understanding of what a SD40-2 is. SD stands for (Special Duty), 40 stands for the type of model and -2 is for the extra guilder wheels on the front and rear. Blue Box Athearn models won't disappoint being a SD40-2, other than that Love watching your videos and train shows. I only wish you would look a little more at American class railroad when out as it would open a Massive doorway into your life giving you more of options on what to look at. Great video keep it up 👍🏻👍🏻 really enjoy them

    If you are ever across in Leeds / West Yorkshire, check out Millennium Models in Morley. In fact, the Normanton & Pontefract show is on at the end of this Month at Pontefract racecourse, you could do a double. . . !

    After 15 mins hand cranking to top the fuel gauge up on a 08 you knew you had done it! Whilst trundling to a local colliery nr Shirebrook, I'll say it Happy new yr to the both of you, Deltic is King.

    Not much wrong with tender drive, they still go! I have a couple that really do compete with a modern release model. Just as quiet and smooth.
    Evening Star came out in 71, but Morning star in 81. Interestingly the valve gear off the 9F was the more complete, and the same size as the Britannia. They only switched it over to the Britannia much later in the 80s.
    The Duke/Duchess were very close though! The Patriot they did was a nice model!
    I'll recommend Model Junction of Bury St Edmunds

    • @wellchuffedrailways
      @wellchuffedrailways  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hi William, I think the Morning Star was the last standard Pacific Hornby did with the incorrect valve gear. Shame really as it's a nice model, I did get a brand new one back in 81 but I've never had a 9F apart from an Airfix kit. All the best Rick
