The emperor blessed the game with godly gameplay, but sadly chaos managed to sneak some game breaking bugs in. Thankfully the techpriests at owlcat has been praising the omnisiah and continue to bless the codes to get chaos out with continuous new code being uploaded in the form of patches.
I know that it could be a touchy subject, but I would love to see a playthrough with you and the rest of the crew of the Debt Collector. I'm positive that I can't be the only one that would want to see this!
Zoran talked about this on his stream that he tried to get the crew together, but it's difficult due to clashing rosters. We might still see it, but don't keep your hopes up

Having played through the game myself, it was excellent. I really enjoyed the addition of a third morality path, Iconoclast, because it really added in a concept you don't get insight into in the primary Warhammer series. "What if I could be the good guy in a sea of evil." The only problem is, I never felt punished for doing it, which makes me wonder if that was an intentional choice to be like "Yeah, no, the Imperium doesn't need to be this way." I also had broken the combat system by the end because I was playing an Officer, and would just give my extra turns to whoever my best Soldier was, and they'd one-shot most enemies. Which is unfortunate, because it meant I felt bad having to take other characters through their turns because they weren't good at fighting compared to the lady with the big gun.
Never really played TTRPG (though always wanted to) and never played a CRPG, but got to say, I am LOVING Rogue Trader. I'm sure I'm playing it really inefficiently but 🤷🏼 😁 Only thing is I wanted to play a duellist Rogue Trader (lower strength, high WS) and I don't think I've quite figured out how to do that.. yet! 😁

It would be nice if all diologs and narration were voiced like in BG3. More varied companions like a Ratling, Ogryn, Krut or Beastmen. Having to choose from only Humans and two filthy Eldari xeno scum is disapointing to me. The automatic rocket propelled grenade launcher called the Bolter dealing less damage per shot than a snub revolver is insane to me. Even if it is human variant like so many people excused this I cannot. To hell with balance I want at least one game to do the Bolter right.
I have been looking forward to this release all year. This game has exceeded all my expectations. The art and writing teams really outdid them selves bringing the 40k universe to life. I have not felt this level of immersion in a CRPG in decades. I have a Aorus gaming laptop from 2020 and I have not experienced any of the bugs I have seen posted about. I know the EVAL copy had several issues but my Steam copy has been rock solid.
In a typical Owlcat fashion there is simultaniously too much filler and not enough: I have to spend 15 minutes jumping from empty system to empty system to get from point A to point B and read through 6 essays written about Andy the Ad-Mech-NPC but I can't customise the interior of my ship, nor the appearance of my armour (gods know that would be needed given how identical most of them look) and very few locations are actually worth revisiting. Take Janus for example: There's a bloody webway gate, ancient Aeldari ruins and a pleasure cult but as soon as I am done with the one quest it's just done. No chance for my Iconoclast to go loot the ruins, no chance for my Heretic to learn more about She-who-thirsts, just nothing.
The game is great. Balance sucks (classic Owlcat) many bugs at launch (classic Olwcat). Some characters are kind of weak (Sister Argenta is more powerful than a Space Marine), and you can't corrupt companions if you go heretical. Sad. Pretty good, though
Inquisitor Martyr, an ARPG, has done similar approach, with Psykers, No Mana, Cast all you want, but, be ready for things to happen. There was defence mission, I placed mines Infront of Cogitator, after I had to interact with that thing, unfortunately, no enemy got to the mines and those things were just at the right place to not let me interact with damn thing, that I needed to interact. I was ready to restart the mission, but, I was playing Psyker and remembered, that one of random things that can happen, is Daemon summoning, so I started casting "Spells" and then the enemy arrived. "I am a Daemon, more specifically Plaguebearer of Nurgle, entity of Warp, ancient and powerful, some Psyker used too many of his powers and now I can materialize in the world, he probably in fight, another enemy could be too much for him and I could take his soul. ... He was alone and he was waiting for Me, he used me as demolition, lured me on the mines, just to trigger them, so they explode, wounding me slightly, when mines were gone, he used his powers to fight me and send me back in Warp. For him I wasn't powerful Warp Entity, just a tool to be used and the tossed away, he wasn't even follower of Chaos."
This looks very interesting. But I am going to wait a while before I look to pick it up. I've seen multiple people report countless bugs in defects and an implication. That wants to get to chapter three it's not quite finished yet. It looks amazing but i'm not going to Beta test a game
No, no I wish it was. But everyone is sucking the Emperor’s knob and I’m just waiting on a game set firmly in the hands of the Chaos Space Marines or a Xenos race. How are we not tired of playing from the Imperium viewpoint?
This game does many things, but "sucking the Emperor's knob" is definitely not one of them. I mean, I just fought a space battle where I blew up two Imperial ships to save an Aeldari transport full of refugees because my Craftworlder companion asked me to.

i been enjoying the game so far. My two big complaints would be the loading screens and lack of fast travel to and from the ship. Just too many blatant loading screens to get on and off the ship and places around worlds. Slogging through 4 loading screens on drongus each time i wana talk to a key character is a bit much.

okay, so just to confirm, co-op CAN have more than one custom character? Because everywhere I look seemed to imply co-op simply has friends assume the role of the existing cast.
Listen the game is great probably my third favorite of the year behing BG3, and FF16. But, even so, lets not pretend Owlcat knows how to A) release an unbuggy mess and B) properly balance difficulty. These guys will never achieve the levels of success they need too if every battle in their rpgs takes 30 minutes due to poor balance and then when you accidentally do win the game bugs out when you try and load the next room.
As amazing as the game is, there are many many bugs that may ruin the pacing of combat or flat out complelty unable you to finish quests or collect companions. So wait for fixes
It will be excellent once they fix the bugs, my Game of the Year..until I hit Chapter 4 and the getting lost trying to find objectives and bugged quests and events. I've had to use the Toybox Mod to fix the earlier bugs, but it's just too much at Chapter 4 (objective markers should be optional, old folks like myself thrive on them!😢)
I was INCREDIBLY cautious with Owlcat's handling of writing, companions, and overall interpretation of the 40K setting due to their last major titles so I was looking extra hard for any excuse to call out heresy when I got this and delete it from my files without looking back. And in the first instance of it making itself known I was ready to immediately drop it for immersion-breaking and out-of-universe corruption as soon as the conversation was ended...And then companion said they had killed it declaring them a disgusting beast and spawn of She-Who-Thirsts. I don't know how, I don't know why, and I don't know what happened to the main writer/editor at Owlcat, but I cannot even begin to imagine how they managed to be so unfathomably BASED after the cringe that nearly shattered my spine from the top on down in Kingmaker and WotR. I've still yet to beat it, but damn was this a completely unexpected action that someone was able to will themselves to put into production in a game 40K years in the future in the current year of 2023 of our Big E.
I dont watch ALL your videos, but I do addore them when I do. :) This game is just...sooo god damn well done for the "Grime Dark" of the Warhammer40k universe. I mean, we ALL know.....we are all the bad guy's here, just differant flavors.
I'm still doing my run but so far this is my favourite Crpg of the year... Yes I think its better than bg3. Only had one bug so far which resolved after restaring the game.
I hope they add in more music later, I like it; but after 50 hours (and counting) I wouldn't mind more of it. Also I would pay full price for a DLC that added in more VO (I found the VO that is there to be really good, but I would like more of it overall).

I did not enjoy playing Wrath of the Righteous. The combat mechanics were just not enjoyable to me and were overly tedious. You either spent 2-3 minutes trying to figure out wtf was going on with the "Real Time Combat" or spent an hour going turn by turn in far too many instances where you had dozens of combat encounters to get through. It feels like Owlcat took feedback on some mistakes that occurred with Wrath of the Righteous and really refined and nailed the combat for Rogue Trader and have thoroughly enjoyed my experience in both the world exploration and combat. I hope they add some more archetypes in the future. My Warrior Arch-Militant Commissar has been fantastic to play and can't wait to try out some new flavors of play!
how cleanly does it run? Owlcat makes some great games and I loved their pathfinder stuff... they seem to have a bit of bad luck with launches... that usually need some ironing out time...
it's about the same. they are getting progressively better at it but they are still kind of the Bethesda of crpgs although to be fair they actually fix the game over time unlike some companies......Still might want to at least give it a few weeks or a month at least.

They actually made sit through the Adminastratum being the fucking Adminastratum. In all seriousness, I am loving Rogue Trader. Yeah its got some bugs and issues, but its still consistently more fun and enjoyable then the bugs can take them away. Great game.
Act 4 isn’t great right now, actually 5 is basically in beta but acts 1-3 are amazing and more then worth the price tag. Plus we know that Owlcat will fix act 4 and 5 given enough time. They’ve fixed issues in their previous 2 releases so I expect they will do the same here
If they didn't rush it out for a christmas greed sale it might have, right now it's in a very bad state, after act 1, when the refund timer would expire, the game becomes an utter broken mess, triggers fail, combat breaks... The mostly positive I am certain is mass review deletion followed by a lot of 40k cope, we have far too much of it.
Nah, it's nothing but mediocre, broken and unbalanced, extremely outdated in every possible way mess. Already only 75% positive votes on Steam when only Owlcat fangirls and WH40k fans made a purchase.

Another year of bug fixing and it'd be great, as it is it's fun to play but just hilariously broken, and before I get the "AlL CrPgS ArE BUgGy 4EvA" bros in defending it, that's not an excuse, it's epic cope. I forgot to mention the itemization is absolute garbage as well, like a certain Furry boi getting a certain axe that is garbage by the time you can get it, like they have no idea how to do gear in this setting
There are multiple points in the lore where Navigators outright refuse to stay cooped up in a ship all day, and the thing about being a navigator, no one can really tell you "no"
Don't read the new Dawn of Fire book...the navigator...brace yourself....goes to eat dinner in the Capt.'s Dining Room! Can you believe that BS? What is the lore coming to where the most important people on the ship actually, on very, very rare occasion happen to go somewhere as to be in the same room as each other?! They don't usually leave their quarters because they are especially plush and/or specialized compared to the rest of the ship, and they are dirty, filthy mutants, so why would they normally leave? Has nothing to do with them being confined to their space (well, except during the actual, you know, navigating).
She's "Special" even among navigators. But no it is really really stupid. That being said you can just make a mercenary and replace her in the field. Its just a neat option that you don't have to follow up on. Also there are a lot of instances where you would think its safe to bring her and then ambush!
Well, this is a heritage of original Rouge Trader table top game where navigator was one of your companion options In recent lore - i can remember Black Fortress where one of key heroes was a navigator in the field
great game, glitchy as all hell I just finished a 3 hr session where the game crashed on me 4 times, 2 right after a battle, one due to a graphical glitch and another because I opened the menu I guess it's bad, should have pushed it back 3 months more bad
I feel like this would be an excellent "Rogue Trader" game if it was set in its own original region. But the game is set in the Koronus expanse. Aside from a location or two besides Footfall, what do they use from the actual rich region lore? Instead of Dark Eldar from the local Koronus expanse "Nexus of Shadows", they're from Commorragh. Want to fight the regional chaos forces of the "Faceless Lord" Karrad Vall? No, just generic some Wordbearers for you. Want to meet and/or fight unique xenos races like the Stryxis and Rak'gol and feel like you're really exploring the unknown? Well you can't. Why bother with the Koronus expanse setting if you're not going to do anything with it? What a wasted opportunity.
SPOILERS. I really really like how this game does not trivialize any major antagonist. Just in the the first two acts, when Daemons, Word Bearers, and Dark Eldar show up, it’s really scary. In the first dozen or so hours you fight *one* Chaos Marine, and he’s a really hard boss fight. Owlcat have a problem with the difficulty of their games dropping off hard at the midpoint, but so far the galaxy feels properly scary.
It gets very, very hard towards the endgame, just a warning. Then again, considering what you're fighting in the endgame when you're several baseline humans, a navigator, a tech-priest, a psyker, possibly -REDACTED- , and a single Space Wolf, yeah it *should* be really hard from a lore perspective. Especially since the final boss is a mother-flipping -REDACTED- after you kick the stuffing out of a -REDACTED- that was trying to tinker with it. Oh and that's after you fight *yourself*
Not with this one chief, the game is still hard on certain encounters/boss fights down the line. Hell, i played on daring and the act 4 final boss is straight up impossible for me. Had to turn the difficulty down to story for that one fight

I agree about act 1 it was devastating and grim. The end just blew my mind.

This game is just...sooo god damn well done for the "Grime Dark" of the Warhammer40k universe. I mean, we ALL know.....we are all the bad guy's here, just differant flavors.
I'm still doing my run but so far this is my favourite Crpg of the year... Yes I think its better than bg3. Only had one bug so far which resolved after restaring the game.
Yeah, this is hands down the best 40k game to date.
I hope they add in more music later, I like it; but after 50 hours (and counting) I wouldn't mind more of it. Also I would pay full price for a DLC that added in more VO (I found the VO that is there to be really good, but I would like more of it overall).
I would love to see it but I don't think they have done it for previous games so I don't have my hopes high sadly

needs least one or 2 more bug fix patches and yes this game is pretty damn good, thou i wish they launched it with less bugs in the first place, that was really sloppy of them , i cant not critise about that no matter how good their games are they just need to work harder on that particular topic a lot more other then that they are making good games , dlcs mayber....erhhh not so much

I did not enjoy playing Wrath of the Righteous. The combat mechanics were just not enjoyable to me and were overly tedious. You either spent 2-3 minutes trying to figure out wtf was going on with the "Real Time Combat" or spent an hour going turn by turn in far too many instances where you had dozens of combat encounters to get through.
It feels like Owlcat took feedback on some mistakes that occurred with Wrath of the Righteous and really refined and nailed the combat for Rogue Trader and have thoroughly enjoyed my experience in both the world exploration and combat.
I hope they add some more archetypes in the future. My Warrior Arch-Militant Commissar has been fantastic to play and can't wait to try out some new flavors of play!
how cleanly does it run? Owlcat makes some great games and I loved their pathfinder stuff... they seem to have a bit of bad luck with launches... that usually need some ironing out time...
Long load times and Don't get it on GOG. They keep screwing up the updates.
Run fine until you hit act 3 (~30 to 100 hours) and broke your act3 strings thus sequence break your act4 and 5
it's about the same. they are getting progressively better at it but they are still kind of the Bethesda of crpgs although to be fair they actually fix the game over time unlike some companies......Still might want to at least give it a few weeks or a month at least.
Wait a month if you’re not comfortable using 3rd party tools to fix possibly broken playthroughs

In all seriousness, I am loving Rogue Trader. Yeah its got some bugs and issues, but its still consistently more fun and enjoyable then the bugs can take them away. Great game.
Act 4 isn’t great right now, actually 5 is basically in beta but acts 1-3 are amazing and more then worth the price tag.
Plus we know that Owlcat will fix act 4 and 5 given enough time. They’ve fixed issues in their previous 2 releases so I expect they will do the same here

If they didn't rush it out for a christmas greed sale it might have, right now it's in a very bad state, after act 1, when the refund timer would expire, the game becomes an utter broken mess, triggers fail, combat breaks...
The mostly positive I am certain is mass review deletion followed by a lot of 40k cope, we have far too much of it.
Are people having issues? I've had to redo a couple of fights, but frankly it's been an amazing game so far. (quite deep into act 2 atm)

My biggest complaint, bugs aside, is that so many characters have such high-quality voice-acting and then a scene later it's text-only.
The deep growling voice of Ulfar is awesome. Astartes voicebox must be augmented too. As it should be..they nailed it.
The only thing that keeps me from speeding up animations is ranged kills moce so quick the camera can't keep up and you miss the gory kills🥲
Game is good but really needs a few more months in the oven. I have had more bugs than CP2077 on release

If it wasn't due to the bugs, I would say easily game of the year and better than BG3. It is still a great game, but there are bugs.

Another year of bug fixing and it'd be great, as it is it's fun to play but just hilariously broken, and before I get the "AlL CrPgS ArE BUgGy 4EvA" bros in defending it, that's not an excuse, it's epic cope. I forgot to mention the itemization is absolute garbage as well, like a certain Furry boi getting a certain axe that is garbage by the time you can get it, like they have no idea how to do gear in this setting

Still one gripe why is the navigator outside the ship or even out of navigator part of the ship!
It is the Emperor's will.
There are multiple points in the lore where Navigators outright refuse to stay cooped up in a ship all day, and the thing about being a navigator, no one can really tell you "no"
Don't read the new Dawn of Fire book...the navigator...brace yourself....goes to eat dinner in the Capt.'s Dining Room! Can you believe that BS? What is the lore coming to where the most important people on the ship actually, on very, very rare occasion happen to go somewhere as to be in the same room as each other?! They don't usually leave their quarters because they are especially plush and/or specialized compared to the rest of the ship, and they are dirty, filthy mutants, so why would they normally leave? Has nothing to do with them being confined to their space (well, except during the actual, you know, navigating).
She's "Special" even among navigators. But no it is really really stupid. That being said you can just make a mercenary and replace her in the field. Its just a neat option that you don't have to follow up on. Also there are a lot of instances where you would think its safe to bring her and then ambush!
Well, this is a heritage of original Rouge Trader table top game where navigator was one of your companion options
In recent lore - i can remember Black Fortress where one of key heroes was a navigator in the field

I just finished a 3 hr session where the game crashed on me 4 times, 2 right after a battle, one due to a graphical glitch and another because I opened the menu I guess

But the game is set in the Koronus expanse. Aside from a location or two besides Footfall, what do they use from the actual rich region lore?

Want to fight the regional chaos forces of the "Faceless Lord" Karrad Vall? No, just generic some Wordbearers for you.
Want to meet and/or fight unique xenos races like the Stryxis and Rak'gol and feel like you're really exploring the unknown? Well you can't.
Why bother with the Koronus expanse setting if you're not going to do anything with it? What a wasted opportunity.
There way too many load screens in this. Also, the controls really arent console friendly.

I really really like how this game does not trivialize any major antagonist. Just in the the first two acts, when Daemons, Word Bearers, and Dark Eldar show up, it’s really scary. In the first dozen or so hours you fight *one* Chaos Marine, and he’s a really hard boss fight.
Owlcat have a problem with the difficulty of their games dropping off hard at the midpoint, but so far the galaxy feels properly scary.
It gets very, very hard towards the endgame, just a warning. Then again, considering what you're fighting in the endgame when you're several baseline humans, a navigator, a tech-priest, a psyker, possibly -REDACTED- , and a single Space Wolf, yeah it *should* be really hard from a lore perspective. Especially since the final boss is a mother-flipping -REDACTED- after you kick the stuffing out of a -REDACTED- that was trying to tinker with it. Oh and that's after you fight *yourself*
Not with this one chief, the game is still hard on certain encounters/boss fights down the line. Hell, i played on daring and the act 4 final boss is straight up impossible for me. Had to turn the difficulty down to story for that one fight
