People think Tom Baker lived and breathed the character but they forget Jon Pertwee had the most devotion to the character long after playing the Doctor up until his death
My father met and talked to Jon during a convention at Marshall university in Wv. He was in con security and was lucky enough to have a fairly long conversation with Mr. Pertwee.
I love tom baker, but pertwee is the best doctor. He doesn’t rank that highly in polls because so many younger people haven’t seen him, which is a great shame
Love Jon Pertwee. Always thought the Whomobile to be a bit...campy (ya, I prefer good ole Bessie). But now, seeing how much Jon loved it....I love it too
This is a charming piece of archive footage. It's great that 2Entertain are putting clips like this on youtube and I can't wait to get the 'UNIT Files' DVD.
Even though I have been watching the show since the Tom Baker era, there are still plenty of "Classic" era episodes that I have never had the chance to see. I absolutely love the look of that vehicle... and NEVER KNEW that it existed!!!!🤯🤯🤯🤯
I just watch invasion of the dinosaur all the way through Reasly on dvd because I was Elizabeth salden birthday on the first of February 2024 so I decided to watch invasion of the dinosaur all the way through and you know what I really enjoyed watching it all the way through
This was released on a dvd, not part of any BBC production, with a few odd doctor who interviews, mostly ion, and the 8mm location stuff from the abominable snowmen
Back in the day when Doctor Who really _was_ *Doctor Who*, when I think of the horrors the sham that the current series is has inflicted...oh the agony. Jon Pertwee is and will always be a legend of classic Who, he is deeply missed.
wouldn't it be hilarious if Matt smith and David tennent had a scene where there riding around in the who mobile I think thousands of people would fall on the floor laughing.
+DarthRushy I saw the car last year at a local small convention. The owner has had it in his possession for years and was a close friend to Pertwee but when he passed away the owner left it under covers in a garage. Some guy on a cruse that the owner went on offered £1 million for it and refused it. The owner is NOT keen to contentiously taking it around the convention scene so seeing it was truly a one chance opportunity that I managed to witness and touch the car along with talking to the owner. The event was Smallspace.
Last I heard it was in the possession of a friend of Jon Pertwee's, whom he gave it to upon the death of the man's father. (The family friend was a Doctor Who fan and he knew it would make him happy.) I know this because of an interview Pertwee did back in the 90's.
never liked the UNIT Boxset as such Dinosaurs is ok models are bit you know but Android Invasion hasn't the Brigadier and makes it less of a UNIT story. should of been Zygons
I'd never heard Jon Pertwee tell this story before - absolutely charming!

Plus unlike Tom he didn't have an ego problem, and was quite happy to appear in an anniversary special after his run ended. :P
Pertwee did not only play the Doctor, he also had his own Whomobile?! GREAT!

It is a cool looking vehicle....FINALLY- one car Jay Leno does not own.
Would love to see Capaldi riding Whomobile
Pertwee would gently drive it well, capaldi would have a new dodgem
I'd love to have this in my garage!
Love this version of the theme pity never been used!

He is MY Doctor.

THAT, dear viewers, is dedication to your craft!

Now find more of the missing Patrick Troughton episodes please!
What a guy. Great story.
Brilliant man greatly missed!
No nice to see him after so many years, Brilliant as Wurzel too
If I could drive, I would have had a replica of The Whomobile built and drive it.
Now when I think of Pertwee and the Whomobile, I'll think of only one thing: na-na-na-na-na-na...Batman...
I had never seen this before. It was great!
He was forbidden to use the TARDIS
@GavSalkeld I think the flexible format afforded by DVD would be the best way of showcasing the material from these productions
Wow, that so cool! Put his own cash into the show :D
To the Whomobile!

Pretty cheesy, but pretty awesome too.

Jon Pertwee, so fucking awesome.
Love this

Why them?
Hyper539 I'd love to see Jodie Whittaker doing that...
More Than 30 Years in the Tardis and Shada coming out soon, woohoo!
Skip to 2:00 for cool remix of the Dr. Who theme.
Anyone know where I can find it sepearately, BTW?
To the Whomobile cue Batman theme
Does anyone know what happened to that car? Is it at an exhibition or Sean Pertwee's garage?
DarthRushy They've just discovered it in a garage somewhere!
Gamingsince1997 Yeah, I heard some guy owned it and refused to show it to anyone.
Rocka Craig Someone is. That was stolen too.

Chuby123 Shouldn't he give it over to Sean Pertwee? His father made it after all. Have they at least talked?
Is that his daughter Dariel with him when he drives it into the big top?
What's wrong with old Bessie!
Where is the car now?

Think you should stick to the TARDIS Doctor! ;)
