I bought the RT Systems software for my FT3D, but dreaded the idea of sitting down and manually inputting all of the repeaters in my area. I really appreciate you putting this video together for RFinder. Now there's no excuse! And that's a good thing.
Yeah I figured someone out there needed to know about this. I know the video was short, but you got the gist of my message! Glad I could help! Thanks for your support! 73!
Being as I have both my GMRS and Ham license, I carry a HT for GMRS another HT for Ham. As a user of RT System, I have not given this a go, I like your demonstration. Question, will this also do GMRS repeaters as well?
I am not sure it does GMRS repeaters. I do nto have a GMRS license , so honestly I have never looked into it. Thanks for watching and for the comment. 73!
Nice video thanks for uploading it. I knew about this feature of the RT Systems software. I used it a number of years ago when I took a trip from my home on Cape Cod to central Pennsylvania. The issue that came up for me is that it was just one big scan of all the channels. I would come across an active repeater and find that I was listening to it on a channel that was in another state. So it had the wrong CTCSS tone and I was unable to use it. Scrolling through channels or starting another scan takes my attention off the road to much. So I'm thinking I need to set the trip up in banks by state/region. I am working on that currently. Maybe there is a more simple solution but I'm unable to see it at this point.
If memory serves, you can have it sort your results with various filters aside from band. I think you can coincide the results with the google map of your intended route as well to help narrow down the results. Definitely something that should be researched. Thank you for the comment and for watching. I hope the video was able to give you some good information. 73!
My solution is utilizing multiple mini sd cards. I run from Omaha to Phoenix, over to Houston, then back to Omaha a couple times a month. I have the cards numbered #1-#15. All I have to do is swap the card with the one I need for the particular leg of my trip, pull up SD on the menu, 'back-up', read from card, and the radio loads the freq's and reboots. I have the repeater freq's and ISS uplink on A band, and all simplex freq's and ISS downlink on the B band. The cards are kept in a little $7 carry case from Amazon, which is where I got the Samsung Evo Plus 32gb cards as well. They are available in a 5 pack for about $33 at the moment. Hope this idea helps.
Just got the rt system and have no idea what Iam doing. Tried a few times and I get time out. The HT is Wouxun KG-UV9P. Just might cal rt system. Windows 11 don't what to do. Tnxs Scott
I am sorry you are having issues with the software. I would reach out to RT Systems and see if they can assist. It should be pretty cut and dry to get the radio programmed.
@@HR4NT yes big help got the wrong program and they made it right. Also got fixed up with with 991a and ft-65r Thank you my thinking is because of the meds from the VA KQ4CD

This works fine, however, I tried imposing this file into my RFinder B1 and it will not work as the file is not in "JSOP" file format. Tried to figure out how I could export or import the file into my Cloud Memories so that I could restore that to my B1+ device, but still haven't figured out how to do that yet.
I am sorry you are having issues. I would recommend that you call Rfinder support. Another viewer was having issues and they helped him out super fast and got him up and running fine. I hope the can do the same for you. Thanks for watching. 73!
for fun&profilt i have a proxy server that will proxy and download that RFinder data. Let me know what kind of format you need. I might be nice enough to write a plugin :)
I have not had an opportunity to use the actual radio, but the software to find surrounding repeaters seems to work just fine. Thanks for the comment and for watching. 73!

So is R Finder better than repeater book?
They are kind of one in the same, however repeater book has features that RFinder does not. Thanks for the comment and for watching. 73!

The RFinder B1 doesn't need a route codeplug - assuming you have a SIM installed it updates as you drive.
for fun&profilt i have a proxy server that will proxy and download that RFinder data. Let me know what kind of format you need. I might be nice enough to write a plugin :)
My rfinder stinks , i hear good on it but as i talk they say i cut in snd out , did all updates, good idea but still has bugs
