Shannon, you are such a blessing. Also, the sound and light quality is particularly stunning in this tutorial. (Not meant as a backhanded, comparative compliment. Just think this must have been a beauty day in Medford! And the mic is perfectly dialed.)
YOU are a treasure, Joel. Thank you for the sweet encouragement and kindness here. Hope it is a lovely December up north, and hope you are enjoying some beautiful days of light. x
Re-visit 😉 Simple tune I leaned in 2019 . But I love what you do with it. I love the A rolls in the B part , why did that pass me ? Well thanks for all the ornamental reminders , your the best ! Keep up the great vids 😙 love from 🇨🇦.
Thanks, and so glad I could shine a light on something for you. We do this for one another, for sure. It's often the simple stuff, right? Like... wow, yeah, how come I didn't think of that?
I wonder if those rolls and cuts are the equivalent +- on guitar of pull-off and hammer-on. Nope? Or slides sometimes? I would have subscribed to OAIM if only they had guitar lessons. Cheers Shannon! Have a good week and see you Saturday! With a few Breton tunes if I understood well? The plinn, hanter-dro and gavotenn are cool too :) Ken Disadorn! X 😉
cool idea to liken them to hammer-ons. Maybe kinda? It gives some nice texture, and sort of softens a beat... but also propels it forward? But also, they are their own things.
@@ShannonHeatonMusic Probably a mix of what you say. One of my favourite guitar Masters is Saoig Siberil from Kreiz-Breizh and he uses them a lot! But he also does tapping (which I haven’t mastered 😐 lol) and harmonic notes which I do sometimes. Playing along with Siberil’s guitar recordings is pretty joyful, a bit like Johnny Connolly, Paddy Glackin and Tony MacMahon, and you 2 of course.
@@ShannonHeatonMusic Yeah, but you’re excellent students of Breton tunes 😉 But if you are interested in a particular type of tune I would gladly send you a few sets of some of their specialists by e-mail. But you do have some fine Breton albums? Don’t you? Don’t hesitate to send me a photo or list of all of them you got. :) Happy to help in any case. I know quite a few of the best Breton singers by the way :) I sadly never got the chance to meet Loeiz Roparz (the father of modern festoù-noz) before he died some years ago but I had the pleasure to meet Marsel Gouilhiouz and Yann-Fañch Kemener a few times. Yec’hed mad! 🍺 ps: that West Vleeteren (which is very difficult to get) was amazingly yummy, definitely in my top 7 ever and top 3 brown.

Thanks a lot. That was really good.
Good idea for the tune, Pat! It's a goodie, and I hadn't thought of it for a while.

Also, as for Breton tunes, it's always fun to try. But we are not experts. Still, we will plan a few for November! Stay tuned for news about that.
