I like both of them. I believe those benches are from old 1920’s-1930’s vanities...you know, the kind that have a mirror, a dropped center, and drawers on either side.
These are such cool chairs and the grain sack really suits them. My husband just found a really nice chair on the curb so I’m super excited. Free is the best!

Very pretty Yvonne I did have a tiny cry over the loss of that magnificent vend stripe on the chair but better a whole new look than a one way trip to the dump. Veneer or no veneer I still rally like your style and finish ,I’m surprised you don’t make more on them
Yes, better to remake them than they go into the garbage. I have made ones with more stripes before, it did sell but not as fast as the ones striped like these. 🤗
Sorry Yvonne I meant I am surprised you don’t make more money on them not more stripes I like the one stripe myself it’s a statement where as multiple stripes would be a pattern. I noticed on a Sunday funday video that your prices are incredibly cheap (I think it’s worth more) hopefully that keeps your stock turning over, plus of course it’s all gorgeous. I wish I could shop in your booth I’d go 🥜nuts
My favorite buy at Auctions! I have 3 of them. One I left because it has beautiful caning on the seat...the other two have been painted up...one with a grain sack seat and the other I left just plain. But I have a THING for ( i think mine are piano benches) benches and old chairs! Yikes!!!! They came out wonderful and love the little backs and handles .... cute...cute...cute !!!
Oh yes, if the caning is still there and in great condition. It’s left like that too. I leave that for someone else. I’m glad to hear you have a few of these. They come in handy. And are a nice piece. Luckily I can resell or my.. I might have quite a stock💕

These are both adorable Yvonne! If I have to choose, it would be the older of the two. It makes my heart happy to see how you save pieces like this and make them “new” again. I have to admit that when one or your kitties is on the frame, I get so tickled, and then have to go back and focus on what you are saying. They sure do love you. Oh my! I just carried this very same stool & a pretty little dresser to my booth. I painted them sea glass. I found my stool at an antique store last year. It was so sad with ripped up burgundy material. It still had the old funky batting, no foam. I'm only 2 minutes into the video. I cant wait to see how you dress it up😊

I love those benches! I would have grabbed the higher back one if I had seen it in the thrift store, it's so different from what I usually see. I love the way you do all the little details and finishes on your projects, it really shows how much you care about your pieces.

I love them both! Unfortunately pieces like this rarely ever turn up at my local Goodwill/Salvation Army stores, and the one thrift store we have locally ( I live in a small rural town in SW Georgia) will sell the "as is" pieces @ 45+ dollars, so I just walk on by because that's too high for such pieces that need a lot of love and attention. These both turned out beautifully. xx

Great benches! Years ago I taught decorative painting and when we would do a project on fabric I would always use textile medium mixed with paint. It helps keep the fabric soft and also helps in the fabric accept the paint and penetrate the weave to make the paint durable. Any craft store which carries acrylic paint such as Hobby Lobby should carry it. They are in 2oz bottles and I found DecoArt brand was the best. I have to say the bench with the applique at the top and has more of a back to it is my favorite. I would have loved to see a french farmhouse stencil in the middle of the back piece under the applique.
I love the benches. The one with the low back reminds me of a vanity stool. You have broadened the purpose with a more universal style. They are so inexpensive at your retail price. I wish I lived close. I would redo my whole apartment's aesthetic. Fabulous work as always.

Great benches! Years ago I taught decorative painting and when we would do a project on fabric I would always use textile medium mixed with paint. It helps keep the fabric soft and also helps in the fabric accept the paint and penetrate the weave to make the paint durable. Any craft store which carries acrylic paint such as Hobby Lobby should carry it. They are in 2oz bottles and I found DecoArt brand was the best. I have to say the bench with the applique at the top and has more of a back to it is my favorite. I would have loved to see a french farmhouse stencil in the middle of the back piece under the applique.

I love the benches. The one with the low back reminds me of a vanity stool. You have broadened the purpose with a more universal style. They are so inexpensive at your retail price. I wish I lived close.
