Shasta High School presents Beauty and the Beast, the 2015 Spring Musical. Continuing a long tradition of High School Musical Theater in Northern California.
I really love this! My favourite is Lefou; he's fantastic! That nose is so cute! And Belle and Lefou in the scarf scene, well! When we did this in 2011, our Belle forgot to let go of the scarf and nearly choked Lefou! This brings such memories!
I did this play over summer and I played the Beast. I loved this show so much and didn't want it to end. Sadly it wasn't the Broadway version (I did the Jr version) but this definitely was my favorite show I've done
this is impressive for a high school production. it feels like it was put together by an actual theater company. belle, lefou, gaston, cogsworth, babette, mrs potts, madame, and the bimbettes/silly girls are fantastic, the costumes are beautiful and i love gaston lumiere and babette's innuendos :')
I auditioned for this last Friday for Gaston, LeFou or Maurice. At the beginning, I really wanted Gaston but now watching the whole musical, I realized how neat of a character Maurice is. I find out Callbacks this Friday, and the cast list gets posted Sunday! 😊
I watched this performance a couple years ago when I was playing Mrs. Potts. 3 years later, I’m doing a production of this musical and I’ve been cast as Belle, and I’ve been looking for this version because this Belle is by far my favorite I’ve seen. Her voice is beautiful and I absolutely love how she portrayed the character.❤️
OMG Belle did amazing singing. Those songs are hard enough to sing but the orchestra was awful and it can put a vocalist off but she held it perfectly. Those violins are killing me.
Hot4stockchick I am glad I'm not the only one who thought the orchestra was awful. I heard a lot of out of tune instruments, along with no sense of balance and all I could hear in the beginning was a tin-y trumpet and screechy violins. I know they are high schoolers, I'm in high school too, but I know our trumpets don't like that! Plus the very opening piece was way off key! It was distracting, I loved their sound of music, but this was hard to watch, I stopped before I was even 15 minutes in.

I'm so excited to finally see this again! I saw this production of it live 3 times and almost ditched my Prom to see it a 4th time. I was beginning to worry that it was never going to be put up. Thank you!

you have a doctoral degree or something? thats a pretty arrogant statement. Most ppl on here watching these know "a lot" about musicals. and we know not to SCREAM our comments.
Great job on the sets, costume design, music, and effects. The only thing a have some feedback on is the accents could use some work and a few expressions that seemed like they weren't there.
I always say: ,,God! I'm sick. I'm really sick because I'm serious in love with candlestick '' but today I want say just ,,I'm in love with this LeFou!'' Professional actors and actress could learn something amazing if you'll be their teachers:)
Beauty and the beast was one of the first plays I did. I loved being Belle. It’s always fun to be the lead or being in a play for that matter though I’m always the lead.
I am really enjoying it! Belle is incredible as is Lumiere, Cogsworth, well everyone! Gaston is amazing too! Its hard to find a Gaston who has a deep voice. As the original Gaston has to have a deep baritone voice which from what I understand is very hard to achieve.
Wow! I can't wait to see Beauty and the Beast. It's coming to theaters in March 2017. It's a Reboot of the original animated feature film. This time it's going to be a Live Action.
The video probably made the lighting different. Stage makeup is supposed to be a bit heavy so the audience can see the characters face. But who knows. She might've put on too much.
Hatter Pan I found it so difficult to hear the iconic Beauty and the Beast tune through it all. I also think that some of the singing was a bit off tune and shouty. Gs I would change were I to produce this myself. The number Be Our Guest lacked swing and energy nut the song Home was amazing.
I had the honor of seeing this in person, and I can tell you that it sounded fine, so I don't know why it doesn't sound as good on recording. Maybe it's the fact that the sounds might blend together better in a big room?
ponypixy As someone who played in an Orchestra I can hear plenty of mistakes, it could have been they were nervous. Sounds like they weren't really together too. 😕 Besides recording the music catches the mistakes most can't hear.
I"ve got a Beauty and the Beast camp next week and i'm auditioning for the role of Lefou. this helped me to see what i need to prepare myself. (i don't care if in this case it's played by a boy)

why does Belle have so much heavy makeup? they needed to tone down. Belle's performance was amazing nonetheless
