Oh my goodness, I'm so excited, I'm portraying the Beast in my school's production! I love the choreography in this scene for the fight between Gaston and Beast :)

We had a trap door in the stage where he could put his mask and gloves out of sight. He did the rest under the cape...we had a hard time getting more fog.
Maybe it's because the song is written into the show! :) I remember watching a featurette on the DVD for Mulan in which the filmmakers pointed out that in a musical, the songs tend to occur at the high and low emotional points of the story. The Beast dying is about as low as it gets in this story. Probably for the same reason, it's fairly common to have a song as an important character is dying. Sorry if you don't like it--I happen to.
I'm Madame (the wardrobe) in my high school's production. Please god, let at least the ending dress be pretty!! I don't wanna go on in a dress that big! (The woman who did it in this pulled it off nicely, but I'm a teenage girl...)
I'm not sure what they did with it, but I know the wig was a Bon Jovi wig. I believe the hands were from a Halloween costume. They were too small so they cut the fingers off and glued them to some regular garden gloves. I think they ordered the face mask.
what level is this performance at? in my opinion the stage choreo was great and the voices too, the stage work was amazing! but the pit was questionalble at times, i coming from a high school that has won the top award for musicals in the city 7 of our last 10 musicals i have pretty high standards for music and almost always notice what goes bad before what goes good. anyways very well done overall
+Zoë ter Veen well some high school musicals use shorter girls because they can appear and sing like a little boy, just like my school is doing this year and our chip has a boy-ish look as well, you can't really use a high school age boy for a role as someone much younger since they will most likely have a vocal range that is too low for a 6-8 year old character

THEY USED A BOY FOR CHIP IM SO RELIVED. All the others used a girl not to be sexist but he was a guy in the Movie

Well they don't always have boys to use as chip. My college production is double casted and both Chips are shorter females.
A lot of high schools opt to cast a younger-looking girl instead of trying to get a middle school or elementary school boy. It's easier
