I don't know if this was a joke or not, and obviously it's old.. but in case anyone is wondering, the answer is neither. Use Viton gloves when working around nitric acid.

@@TGFsecondchannel Go watch NileRed's video on Fuming Nitric acid. You'll see vinyl actually does a decent job (i.e. it doesn't catch on fire). But yes, wear the correct type of glove, obviously.
