- There are a lot of choices of disposable gloves on the market. They aren't all created equal. Quad City Safety will help explain some of the differences to help inform you into making the correct choice for your application.

The best nitrile gloves I have used so far are CLEAN SPACE PROJECT nitrile gloves!!!

what about polyethelene gloves and alchohol? is this time sensitive as well? i have read that over time with any kind of gloves protective degrades. so i would imagine with any kind of gloves time exposure is very imporant.

I unfortunately have to wear nitrile gloves due to having a bad reaction to vinyl gloves...

Im a plumber and use nitrile because the latex are always so thin. I have a problem with them ripping, Do latex gloves come in different thickness? I need something like mechanics use that isnt going to rip when i bang my knuckle on something. I had some 12 mil at one time and while they didnt rip they were pricey. Im thinking around a 8 or 9 mil. Any suggestions?
Latex gloves do come in different thicknesses. It maybe sounds like you should be using something reusable rather than disposable. Thanks for watching!
Microflex diomond grip is the standard old-school latex glove that we were all familiar with in the 80s and early 90s thats about 6 to 8 mil thick and they do quite well in auto mechanics apart from strong hydrocarbon solevents (mechanics buy them up like hot cakes) Most gloves available on the market are going to be a 3 to 5 mil with 5 mil being the most prevalant, especially in medical grade products. With nitrile, youre not going to find the thicker gloves because thick nitrile is less flexible than latex and more prone to tear, though it depends upon the precise makeup of the nitrile

hello, i am sorry for disturbing you, but do latex gloves deteriorate with our natural skin oils? i just need sensitive gloves to protect my hands from household chores, food, and constant washing while i wear handcream underneath them (because my hands can indure only so much)

They shouldn’t degrade due to skin oils. Latex allergies were more of the concern.

From What i understand, Only specific gloves are able to be used in the medical industry? as most of these gloves arent sterile
There are “grades” within each category. Medical grade gloves need to be strong enough to protect against blood borne pathogens, etc. Some gloves that are industrial grade are more meant to withstand oils and chemicals. Food grade is a whole different category.
Nitrile is not compatible with Acedelhyde, Acetone, Acrylic acid, Amonium Hydroxide, Aniline, Benzaldehyde, and Bromine, while latex is suitable for these chemicals. In turn, Latex is not compatible with most oils and hydrocarbon solevents.

I’m handling red oil and skydrol, and my employer keeps giving me gloves that break down
I’d need to get a little bit more information and see the MSDS sheets on the specific products to make a solid recommendation. It’s definitely a sign that they aren’t providing the correct level of protection if the chemical is eating through the gloves. We’re happy to help if your employer needs help with the assessment. If you’re on your own I would perhaps look at the thickness of the gloves and up that level but it’s hard to know without more information. Thanks for watching the video!
@@QuadCitySafetyInc thank you, I talk to the president of the company and he is currently looking into that matter, butyl rubber is compatible will skydrol, however my employer only provide latex gloves, in which do not provide adequate protection
Good luck. If we can be a resource, please let us know. Your certainly a long ways off between disposable latex and butyl rubber. If the msds says butyl rubber is needed and they aren’t providing you the correct PPE I would entertain getting my own gloves.

What kind of Gloves Barbers use Nitrile, Latex ,Vinyl..?
I don’t know many barbers that wear disposable gloves so I’m not sure to be honest. If we are talking more salons that color hair and work with chemicals then probably more likely to be nitrile. Thanks for watching!
