    Sanjee, great post missing the food making videos...but what are your thoughts on Australian A-Reits given what's happening to commercial property throughout the pandemic??

    • @SanjeeSen
      @SanjeeSen  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Joel! Mate how have you been?! Yeah I pivoted away from the cooking videos because it just wasn't sustainable really. I'm more interested in investing and personal finance so it made sense to pivot this way. Yeah I'll be honest I haven't really being paying attention to REITs other than generally through what's been happening to VAP. I mean I'm guessing they'll take some kind of hit because of recent events (office rents and retail rent). But whether corporate Australia is really going to start shutting down entire commercial spaces is probably unlikely to happen. I have been looking to gain a bit more exposure to that sector - but it'll probably be through VAP or a similar index because I'm not familiar enough to look at individual REITs. Feel free to buzz me on the mobile or 03 9016 0269 if you want to chat more :) So good to hear from you mate.

      Hi yes great question. The video I did on brokerage can be found here: th-cam.com/video/PumIzzXdbHs/w-d-xo.html
      The key thing is to try and find a "purchase price" for your parcel of shares that minimises how much the brokerage cost accounts for in the total transaction cost. Hope that helps.

    Hi Sanjee Sen, I have been interested in writing call options and I haven't quite understood how the commsec option platform works - is it possible for you to go through the procedure using the commsec option platform as you have done with the buying of shares platform?

    • @SanjeeSen
      @SanjeeSen  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi George, I'll be honest, I actually don't know how to buy options on the CommSec platform. I'm more an individual shares, ETFs and bonds investor myself. If I do do a video about it I'll be sure to let you know...but I don't have anything planned in the medium term. I'd encourage you to checkout the CommSec site in the meantime: www.commsec.com.au/accounts/eto-options-account.html

      Hi Liam - sorry for the delayed response. Generally people just keep cash in AUD if they want to maintain their home currency. If you're worried about currency fluctuations that's more in the area of FOREX trading.

    Hi Sanjee.
    Great video and very easy to follow. I'm not sure if you can help me . I'm just about to start investing and the bank account or cdia is still a little confusing to me.
    Do your dividend paid dollars or fully franked dividend dollars get paid into your cdia trading account ?
    If so does the platform make it easy to print of or report at tax time for account.
    And also does the cdia account act like a normal bank account so I can transfer from other banks or put money in at a branch. Could not find any info on there website that answer this.
    Thanks in advance and love the videos !
    Guy

      @SanjeeSen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Guy great questions. No your dividends get paid to whatever account you setup with the share registry. You should check out my videos on "Setting up your dividends". In there I show you where to setup your bank account details in. Don't stress if you haven't set them up yet though...the money just get's held until you submit your details. Yes the CDIA account should act like a normal account you can do transfers to (it'll have a BSB and Account number). You'll end up using Netbank to do all the transfers.

    Hi, thanks for the video. This may sound like a stupid question but how do I transfer money from my NAB account to my Commsec account? Do I have to transfer it to the linked commonwealth bank account first? And then over to commsec? I can't find this information anywhere

    Hi, i am trying to buy my first share via CommSec. Now ... I get the following error 'order not accepted - deposit required' What do i do ? ... no video or tutorial covers what do be done in the Netbank account side before you start Commsec? I assume you have to transfer money into the CDIA account ... this correct? If so, i have done this and the money shown in the 'balance' but Zero dollars shown in 'available'. What should i do OR what is wrong?

      You can buy dividend ETFs if you don't want to get into individual stocks. My favorite is SCHD. you can use a coach as well

    Hi. Could you please clarify this for me? So you execute your trade on Commsec. The purchased shares are now in your virtual possession, however, there is a 2-day delay on payment. So my question to you is Could those shares be sold on the same day even though you have not handed over a single cents for the shares?

    Hey, how different is comsec pocket app from commsec?

    • @SanjeeSen
      @SanjeeSen  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there, great question and I should probably do a full video on this sometime. The main differences I see are: 1) The Pocket app only lets you invest in 7 ETFs whereas the normal CommSec app lets you invest in all ETFs on the ASX, which is close to like 150+. 2) Brokerage rates for the pocket app seem cheaper relative to normal CommSec, especially if you consider $500+ transactions. I'd still lean towards the normal CommSec platform as it gives you more flexibility.
