I like what you said that one time about organizing being a lot like making friends…☺️ I think that’s a really important part ppl skip out on. Have more picnics and game nights and tea times!

Haaaa Haaaaa!!! I so agree about Harry Potter. If I had known about Terry Pratchet when my kids were reading Harry Potter, I would have thrown out all my kids Harry Potter books and replaced them with Terry Pratchet books. Each holiday season, I make a point of watching the movie, The Hog Father.

From what I learned about Terry Pratchett from Shaun, he is a solid author, I should read him.

@@PeaceLaborMay Pratchett walks an interesting line between justifying Victorian capitalism and pointing out its absurdities. On a different note, the last five minutes of The Hog Father make me jump out of my seat and scream. "Ahh Haa!" Also, a fun fact, Steven King's IT is implied to exist in or originate from Disc World, according to a utube video I once saw.

I'm one of those robots who keep telling people how they can be physically healthy. Take vitamin D and zinc, and when you are sick, take fresh ginger root tea.

Lols. I'm 40, and live in Australia. If I make comments in a leftist space, some smart arse says "read theory". I often feel like saying get of your arse and do praxis. I am fortunate enough to have recently purchased some small farm land, working it slowly to produce more produce than we can consume to feed the needy. I bought a tractor a month ago, it's not my tractor, it's "our tractor". I also have good access to water in an area that gets dry. Neighbours seem confused why I do not care about tools or them using my water. My father hated socialising, but learned it was necessary for grass roots funding for the ambulance here back a long time ago, so I guess I learned that lesson... Suck it up, be yourself, be human, hope it is reciprocated and you can make many friends, at one point (20 years ago) my active social network was maybe 300-400. Now, I don't socialise. See little friends. No energy, and I'm just exhausted. Guess the best I can do is farm and help people local to me, while being a privileged land owner, with a lot of debt.

I will add, not that you asked, there is a major mental health benefit in doing labour for me, and a manual type. I am also lucky enough to feel less divorced from my labour when its on our tiny farm. It is hard work in the heat, but more much more satisfaction than you can get from a wage job. My current work place has plenty of leftists and they were quick to sniff me out, we spend some of our precious time after work days socialising, that also helps. Guess I'm pretty lucky when I think about it. Just don't get me to argue about "this type of socialism" vs "that type of socialism". Any of it will do I think. I will die without being a leader of a revolution :D :P, and quite happily.

You are not a lazy bum or anything like that. You organized your work place how many others can say the same? I don’t think you count as “chronically online”

The black pill here is that there are and have always been humans that are voluntarily organizing to do important things.
They start companies and build important things. Almost everything you're using right now was developed and built by them.
I do support this type of push for the left to stop playing pretend and start doing hard things together cooperatively to build a new world. There's never been a real reason that marxists or anarchists can't get together and build things. The issue has always been that they just don't want to do the hard work it requires. The people that do want to do the work end up employing them. You yourself quit a factory job (that's what it was, wasn't it?) so you could read Marxist literature, didn't you? If instead you'd been teaching yourself engineering in your spare time you would now be a valuable asset to your community, family and yourself. Instead you have a part time job and things are harder. At least that's my takeaway.
I'm not trying to be mean but if you want to meaningfully affect the world and better your situation lying to yourself won't be helpful.
