Glad you enjoyed the video Rick, and I hope you love the Lightspeed when you get yours! It's still my favorite... it always makes me sound better, and I can't ask for more than that :) Cheers!
Yep, that's what happened to me when I stacked two Lightspeeds too! I even made a video about it hoping Greer would build a double one (no luck!). That's such an amazing sound!
By far the best demo I've seen of this pedal. EDIT: If I were to be nitpicky, I'd say in the loop sections it'd be cool to refer back to the dry/bypass tone a bit more.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! And yes, that's something I've also learned since I made this vid - I do that a lot more in loops these days. Cheers for the feedback :)
Superb demonstration and review. Terrific way that you explore the various setting combinations. I just bought one and this will be extremely helpful. Thank you for the video!
Thanks Brian, and enjoy your Lightspeed! It's such a great pedal. I can heartily recommend you do your own tweaking with it too, just because there's so many cool and useful sounds to be had. Thanks for watching!
Hey Rich, this is a very very good demo of my favourite overdrive pedal. Turning the knobs and putting the comments in text boxes is very useable as it's much easier to keep track of the different sounds. I've tried a lot of overdrives and keep coming back to the Lightspeed as it works with every guitar and every amp. For a while I was tempted to buy the Vemuram Shanks ODS-1 but after some thinking shyed away from spending such a huge amount of money. The Lightspeed does the job just as well. Thumbs up for the work you put into your video, thank you.
Thanks for the great feedback Michael! I feel exactly the same way as you about the Lightspeed - it works with every guitar and amp I have and it's just super versatile too. It does everything from a clean boost to a pretty dirty crunch flawlessly. And like you, I always come back to it! The Vemuram is on a different budget level again. I'd like to try one one day if I can, but I agree with you about the money thing. The Lightspeed is by no means cheap but it is compared to the Shanks! Cheers, and keep rocking your Lightspeed :)
i use mine as an always on EQ. low gain dailed in for some subtle harmonic content BUT the EQ is really awesome at controlling the boomy low end/low mids so many rigs seem to have...
That's a cool way to use it, and something I'll have to try a bit more as well. The Lightspeed certainly has amazing top end sparkle as you turn up the Frequency knob. I also find that lots of modern amps sound very dark to my ears, and I always have to brighten them up a lot to get tones I like.
This is the best demo by far I've seen on this pedal. Thanks Rich. I think this could replace either my Boss SD-1 or my Tokai-OD-1, both of which are great pedals. Your video makes me want to play with my settings way more often!
Thanks Tom, I'm really pleased you enjoyed it so much! The Lightspeed will certainly nail the tones of the Boss and the Tokai. It's a great pedal and so, so versatile. Always makes me sound better. And I'm always in favor of more playing with settings, so go for it! If you have a looper you can do it like I did and just tweak away to your own riffs :)
Excellent video and great explanation!!!One question:When you stack the Lightspeed with other drives:do you put it before or after the rest of the drives in the chain? Thanks!🙏🏻
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Normally I put the Lightspeed before the other drive I'm using (as normally the other drive would be slightly higher gain). But I have also run other pedals like a Timmy into the Lightspeed and that is also great. Also, running a Lightspeed into another Lightspeed is amazing :)
Great Lightspeed DEmo video !!!! very complete ... Loved it !!!! can i ask you at what volts were you running the Lightspeed 9v / 12v / 18v ???!!! Sounding Great !!! Greetings from Portugal Stay Safe & Rock On ...
Hi there, thanks a lot - I'm really happy you enjoyed the video! It was a lot of fun to make, because the Lightspeed always sounds good! I had it plugged into a standard 9V power supply, so there's your answer :) All the best, and thanks for watching! Stay safe and all the best for a rocking 2021.
I asked REVV about a deluxe g 20 or g 202020 as it were a stereo or tri power amp for WD and WDW solution they said buy a few! I’ll stick with the spiced cherry vanilla sodas for my deluxness, I go to Mr. Pibb as Dr. pepper is out of network with my current health insurance policy.
@@PooNinja Well I had to google Mr. Pibb, and now I want a Mr. Pibb! It's like the blue collar, working man's Dr. Pepper! Wouldn't fancy a guitar in Pibb colors though.
@@RichWordsMusic I love the sounds! It sounds a bit like a moded Marshall Bluesbreaker Pedal. Have you tried a Harley Benton Dullahan? Il maybe buy one. And you have asked if I have any clips of my Stereo Spirit of Rock Wet Dry Setup. I recorded a christmas song with it. You can find it on my channel here on youtube.
@@marcmadler454 Yes, I agree! I have the Wampler Pantheon, which is also based on a Bluesbreaker, and there are some similarities. Both great pedals! I would love to try a Dullahan... black with ebony fingerboard would be my choice. But I think I want to try one first before buying... so I need to visit Thomann again ;) Rudolf never rocked so hard! I bet that rig is so fun to play. I dig your channel - I love guitars and coffee too - so I subbed!
@@RichWordsMusic In case you want to know my signal chain for the song: Solar A 2.6 LN into a Tubemeister 20 Clean channel (with everything at 5 but the gain on 10) and FX loop send into a splitter that splits the signal to my two Spirit of Rock amps. One Amp with some reverb in front and both Amps are dialed in with everything at 5. The whole thing is going in my Marshall Vintage Cab with Creambacks. The Reverb Amp is miced slightly off center with a SM 57 and the dry Amp is miced with a senheiser E 609 also slightly off center. Both Mics go into a Mindprint Tube Preamp with a Low Cut at 80 hz and a mid shift at 2khz (5 db). Nothing but some „Tape Echo“ in my DAW. The Tubemeister is used as a „Preamp“ to boost it.
