I too replaced my RSht with a T4 for basically the same reasons. Higher pedal height & suspension. So far, lov it with no regrets at all. I've also found an additional reason, maybe its because of 16" vs 18" but the T4 is so much sharper ie. besides being more agile & playful, the T4 is also very precise in selecting lines & more importantly, changing lines. Best analogy is the RSht feels like machete while the T4 feels like a large scalpel allowing me to be super precise in what I do. Even tho T4 is heavier, it actually feels lighter as I'm less tired on gnarly technicals. Only complaint I have is the suspension which does have a tendency to be pogoish. Set up for trails, its lousy at jumps. Set up for jumps, its not so smooth & kinda pogoish on trails. I just ordered a coil shock to see if it can be better at doing both. Otherwise, I really like the T4. T4 is so much faster on the gnarlies
O know what you mean with the suspension. I'll try a Fox suspension on the Master again this weekend. I hope it's not toooo much better because I don't want to upgrade the suspension. But all in all I need to say I'm really happy and the T4 is a great compromise for a lot of different use cases
Begode really needs to takes your suggestions! Thank you for putting this video together. Really appreciate the comparison. I am contemplating between the two mostly due to the smaller wheel but it seems like everything else compensates for it and it is not an issue at all. Thanks!
Thank you! Yeah I'm really happy with the T4. I went on an MTB trail with jumps today. There were also Master and S22 riders. Even though the other wheels were also ripping, I enjoy the T4 on the trails and jumps a lot! There was also one EXN rider, but he would have really loved to have a suspension wheel
This is a great video as I love my good old V12HT but I'll be getting a suspension wheel for my next wheel. At this stage I'm looking at the Patton, Extreme and Commander mini.
Thank you mate! I'm still happy with my T4. Just keep in mind: suspension might need some maintenance at some point. There is a Patton and a coming Begode Extreme. Both will be 'better' but will obviously be more expensive and heavier. Because I need to lift it every day I'm super happy with it. And I can climb every mountain I needed to (maybe just not as fast as the Patton). But for me the T4 does it all. Ahh except the top speed. I find it a little low at 53/55 kph when the beeps kick in. I'm happy though
yeah when i was looking at this hobby before covid only 2 wheels were like the OGs...rs19ht or KS16x...a lot has happen in this 4 years...the temparatures is a big thing...now iam looking at wheels like the t4 or wait for extreme bulll commander mini pro or the KS s19...great video man...need something smaller, torque and nimble in my city...
The commander Mini couzbe really sick! And the Patton seems to be amazing, but is also quite expensive. I personally do not understand why they made a S19. I think the wheel is a little weird, but we will see what it can do. I'm really happy with the nimbleness of the 16 inch wheel. It's just the top speed which is sometimes a little low for my taste. But in the city (when I rode in Straßburg/France) I never went faster than 45 kph because the traffic didn't let me.
Well, I would ask myself: How important is waterproofing? Do I need to carry it a lot (because of the 7kg difference or so). The Patton is probably the better wheel with more torque and better top speed and a better range, but every time I carry my wheel up to the third floor I do enjoy the 'lighter' or not too heavy wheel. It's a huge step from the MCM5, you would enjoy both wheels for sure. Ahh and you might need to change less things on the Patton because it already comes with a grunt bumper :)
I am concerned that, because it's lacking the traditional shell, all the componants will get caked with dirt off roading. Would be nice to have a follow up review on this issue.
You’ll definitely need some third party sides and bumper for the front and back. But because of the open design I think it’s great for offering. I remember on my RS19 small stones got sometimes stick between the tire and the shell. But it’s definitely missing the top speed and toe range. If you just go off-road it’s great. Others you could consider the Patton, Mini or extreme. Depends on your needs. Because what I do love about it is the light weight
Good luck getting 1000. I have been trying to sell my RS for months at that price and it's got about 1/3 the miles. And it's got lots of upgrades. I have really enjoyed the RS though. It's not given me any problems and never cut out.
Ahh shit! Where do you live? And I think I was lucky to find someone who was willing to pay 1000€ for it. I don't know if I would have given it away for 700 or 800.
@@floatypiet US in a town of about 500K where the average income is less than where it looks like you live. I say try it at your price and see what happens. Your experience may be different than mine. That said, I did sell a V11 at 1200. It had fewer miles and better condition, but less optional equipment than the RS. I don't want to give my RS away either and since it is on the small side of my current wheels, if it doesn't sell at asking price, I may be keeping it as well.
Well I live in Stuttgart. Porsche, Mercedes and Bosh are there, so I guess people are doing okay here😄 but I wish you the best selling the wheel! Sometimes you just need a little bit of luck
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback! I'm stuck in university with quite a lot of exams. But I'm done soon and I have already planned so many videos! I can't wait to film them :)
Love the videos, Piet. Pete here from New Zealand. I have an MTen3 for commuting and gym, and a T4 for everything else. I'm considering sort of the opposite to you and eventually getting a road wheel to complement the T4 (but not replace it). I wonder about picking up a used RS for that :) I actually think there's maybe a market for a road wheel with just a small, hard suspension travel and slightly higher pedals (e.g. 40mm). What do you think?
If I had the Mten3 I would probably not have gotten the Mten4. I love these tiny wheels :) And if you want to hear my opinion (because be got almost the same wheels in our ‘garage‘), If I would now get a street wheel for commuting, I‘d probably look into something like a used Sherman/Sherman Max because of the battery. If you can get a good deal on a used RS you can definitely consider it, but when you don’t have suspension it’s probably nice to go with a 20 inch wheel and not with 18. because even on the street I personally prefere the T4 over the RS because of the little potholes and jumping up and down curbs. Not sure if there will be any short travel (40mm) suspension any time soon. But a 20 inch wheel as already a ‘small suspension‘ because of the big tire. I hope that was helpful in any way haha, sorry!
I really like RS. Last year I wanted to buy one, but the waterproofing is very bad so I bought V12HT. That wheel is amazing. Waterproof, USB-A, USB-C connectors :). Big hybrid tire, great built quality... I am very glad I chose it over RS. Now I have 3000 km with no serius issue. I can do 60km with a single charge no problem. BTW latest batches of the RS has the display (it is basically the same for all begode wheels). Anyway T4 is for sure great wheel, but S22 is better in my opinion - bigger battery, better suspension, faster... I am very interested in the new Begode extreme, that looks also very promising!
I haven't ridden the V12HT but I would really like to try it! And I was thinking about getting the S22 but when I bought the T4, there was no S22 pro and I didn't feel like working on the suspension. It's also bigger and wouldn't fit in the gym locker. But I hope to be able to try it out soon. And the 70 kph top speed would come in nice. And and you're right! The later versions of the RS do have a display, but I feel like it's not good and hard to read.
@@floatypiet Me too. I thought I was crazy until Adam /wrong way did his v12 HT review and said what I was thinking. I couldn't really notice a torque difference between the v12 HS and HT
S22 and T4 are different categories. Also the newer Begode wheels have solid water resistance. No wheel currently produced is described as "waterproof"
Thank you! I appreciate your feedback! Yeah I'm still not happy with the microphone position but I haven't really found a better spot for now. I'm working on it😄

great idea to compare the 2. coming from an RS19 HTowner, the T4 is often compared to the RS19 HT, definitely an upgrade option
