Tata, Godrej , Wadias are iranian Zoarastrians. All are big industrailist. Ratan Tata is the most respected person in India. 66% of profit of all Tata companies is given as charity.

@@Spotify-yn9zh Are you nuts?, how am I punctureputra?, it is true that Tata do not donate 66% of their income - whatever charity they claim to do is to donate money to their own charitable trust - all to save taxes because money given to trusts are not taxable. All rich people do this to save tax.

Idiots think Tata is doing some charity work. All this farce of charity is going to Tata Trust as Government of India doesn't charge a dime when you divert or donate your money to an Welfare Charity.
Azim Premji did the same so as Godrej.
While Ambani & Adani kept the wealth to themselves and pay the taxes to the Government of India.

After Muslims attacked and killed the PARSI community in Iran, these natives took refuge in Gujarat in India. They now speak Gujarati language and have integrated into the Indian society. Their contribution to the nation building has been commendable.

The sales guy is partially correct. India has always been a price conscious market. The majority of sales has been of diesel engines, it’s only in recent 3-4 years Petrol engine buyers are increasing due to the new BS6 pollution norms. Most of it is from big cities, smaller towns and cities still prefer big diesel cars or small petrol hatchbacks.
The SUV market is predominantly diesel engines, petrol engines are given only to cater to cities with diesel ban for older cars.

Tata Harrier & Safari has the same underpinnings of the Land Rover Discovery which costs around 80-90 lakh INR.Harrier & Safari costs less than half of Land Rover discovery. It uses the Kryotec 2.0 diesel engine sourced from Fiat which is also used in Jeep Compass & MG Hector. The gearbox is a six speed torque converter sourced from Hyundai. Tata is working on a 1.5 liter petrol engine & a EV version for the Harrier & Safari which will be launched in a year.Nexon is a sub 4 meter Compact SUV whereas Punch is a Micro SUV.Nice to see foreigners reviewing Indian Auto brands. You're right about Safari not having 4x4 and being called a 'Safari', basically it's a 7 seater Harrier which was launched due to demand of a 7 seater and was called Safari. Earlier Tata had a proper Ladder-Frame SUV called Safari with a capable 4wd system but was discontinued later due to emission norms.

Not Iranian it is Persian and they are the closest people to us Hindus coz their praying system is very similar to us they pray to fire like us. They in the sense the original people of the Persia who are Zoarastrians our brothers. And they migrated to India 1000 years ago to save their families from the barbaric muslim invaders. The zoarastrians who remained their are now muslims like Fatimeh. The zoarastrians who came to India got mixed with the Indians and adopted Hindu culture plus their own culture thus they are known as Parsis. Nothing against anyone just stating facts and figures.

In summary, individuals who opt for diesel engine cars place a higher priority on having a powerful engine and enjoy the sudden burst of power that they provide. They are willing to overlook the higher cost associated with these vehicles, and some may even disregard the idea of preserving the environment. For many Indians, owning a car is seen as a symbol of luxury and status, and this makes it difficult to deter people from buying them.

Diesel used to be more polluting than petrol in the past but now due to strict emission regulation diesel engines are very much refined and sometimes even better in some cases, like BS6 diesel engines have 50% less CO2 and 10% less PM emissions but 33% more NOx emissions than a BS6 petrol engine of similar capacity.
In India, one of the reasons why we have few petrol powered SUVs is because of fuel economy.

There are lot of options here - Jeep Meridian (7 seater), Skoda Kodiaq, MG Gloster, Citroen C5, Hyundai Tucson new model, & in premium brands BMW launched new X1 this year (it's the cheapest to maintain among the german trio), Audi has Q3 but new model will be coming in India late 2024 or 25. I wouldn't recommend Benz GLA but if u have can stretch ur budget to 90Lac GLC is the best option, service tough expensive but excellent.
In short I'll suggest u to check out the Toyota Innova Hycross ( around ₹38lac on road price) if u can wait for the long delivery period, it's fuel efficiency as good as a hatchback, it's petrol only and Toyota has good service record in India. otherwise Maruti Invicto (35 lac) is faster to get delivery off.
In Premium Option, as I can tell by your driving BMW X1 (65 lac) would suit your needs perfectly, but it's front wheel drive. if you want AWD only option in the segment is Audi Q3 (66 lac). But unless ur planning to take it for off roading, I would say X1 would be perfect for you. Even Volvo XC40 doesn't have AWD.
you can check the on road price on this website - www.carwale.com/

Hi, first of all, your Husband's way of dealing and questioning the salesman was absolutely fantastic.
Secondly, I would like to tell you that the salesman here was not informed about the models. The Nexon model that you guys checked out in the showroom was a FEARLESS variant.
One tip if your are going for the 2022 model Safari would be to ask for a good discount on it. Because it's a discontinued model, there will be some good discounts. Negotiate for as much as you can. The 2022 model Safari has a Hydraulic Steering, which is a bit heavy. This has been solved with the 2023 model where the steering has been changed to Electric. Also Harrier/Safari is known to have a heavy clutch if you guys are considering the manual variant. The automatic unit is sourced from Hyundai.
Also, Tata spares are kinda on the expensive side if that bothers you. Plus they are not so good in Quality Control and are sometimes plagued with problems. Though, one of my friends has bought a Harrier and hasn't faced any problems yet.
If reliability is your top priority, then go ahead with the Japanese. Hyundai and Kia are also good but have certain issues. For ex, the most infamous is the Hyundai Creta brake issue. Just google 'Hyundai Creta Brake Issue team bhp'. Though this issue was present in the earlier Kia Seltos too, but now it seems to have been fixed in the Seltos.
Honda and Toyota are good too. Only problem is that, they don't sell their parts outside their authorised workshop. So incase your car needs some parts, you'll have to buy directly from the showroom/authorised workshop.
Mahindra is better than Tata in terms of reliability and after sales service, but their cars can also be plagued with some issues sometimes. Though overall, Mahindra should be less fussy to own. Unlike Tata, they use their own Engines and source their automamtic transmissions from Aisin. The Scorpio -N and the Thar uses the same automatic transmission used in Toyota Fortuner, so those are definitely reliable.
I would also advice yoyu guys to check the Skoda and Volkswagon.

India is very niche and challenging car market for indian and global automobile manufacturers. And we are creating solutions for our own problems(which you can find mostly in India and some are applicable to rest of the world). And you will find manual in A,B,C Segment cars mostly. That's the mass market segment. And manual works in all the situations ++ financially also it's great and it's a proven technology which will not break. Because torque converters / DSG or cvt on entry level cars are financially not a good option. And in India for the whole trafic problem, we have a unique solution, that is "AMT" (it's an automatic, that works for India). You can find AMT gearboxes on all mass market entry level cars.

In simple way, why TATA is not making diesel unit because they are saving fuel efficiency and they have told that by the front wheel drive in this Diesel unit they can improve torque and pick up ration in future at same point, That's why Tata Harrier and Safari don't have petrol version. But in future we hope you will se a smart hybrid engine to save nature as well. Regards sorry That you were looking for a Petrol version of this famous SUV's . A Tata Product User :

As someone who own couple of Car,(bought about 6-7 years back due to the big marketing promo/status symbol etc propogated emtional angle of having my own car, own home etc) my advice don't buy new car in Banagalore or any other Cities of India..its big loss of money ..if you add the cost of car, interest, fuel cost and deprceition , a 25 lakh car in 5 years cost you around 50 lakh and when you go to sell it , it will not resell for more than 15 lakhs, so for 5 years, you pay 35 lakhs..now you add the headache of driving it in traffic, finding parking space , stress of road rage etc.. Instead if you use ola or uber for even every day for every travel, you will not spend more than 10 lakhs , so you save 25 lakhs plus you have a driver for ur each travel, no tension of parking, no stress of road rage etc, rather go for a seond hand good car of around 6-8 lakhs and keep it to use in emergencies or some family functions etc.
