We were so close to Skull losing it. just imagine " You're all real people?! What are you doing?! Go home; see your families!"
They actually wanted to make Tesleen's transformation even more graphic, apparently. Like her neck snapping and contorting as it grows longer, but then they realized that would bump the age restrictions so they dialed it back

Fran is part of the stormblood raids, so that would be the canonical first Viera.

Actually, they had the diverging paths thing since Heavensward. Back then it was starting with either helping out Emmanellain in the Sea of Clouds first or Artoirel at Falcon's Nest first.
In Stormblood, it was choosing checking out things in The Fringes with M'Naago first or joining Mefrid in The Peaks first.

Heavensward split to Sea of Clouds and Western Coerthas
Stormblood split to The Lochs and The Peaks - the problem was that there was the instanced duty right as soon as they merged.

Yup. Fran was the very first Viera we could meet in FF14 before Shadowbringers was released.

That's correct. It's just that in Stormblood it...didn't work quite as well as they were expecting. But they learned from those problems and fixed that starting Shadowbringers.
I like how shadowbringer show that light and dark suppose to be balanced so nether side end everyone
