    Nice informative review, you make a lot of good points. I have this trick. I also have a harness to hold the glass from another trick called "Ring in Bottle" by Matthew Garrett. If I did not have my bottle harness as a way of holding out the glass I would also have a problem presenting his trick. As I am not comfortable using my belt as a hold out. But as you pointed out you need another utility device to do this trick. Thank you for the honest review. I will subscribe to your channel.

    Great review, thanks for sharing what's misleading about the video is that they say the bag is gimmicked so it makes it seem like the bag does all the work holding onto the glass in a impossible way creating this perception. I figured like making a wine bottle appear from a balloon you will still need a jacket Which changes the whole dynamics of this new effect. all you need to do is make it yourself and create a holder for the bottle and save your money

    • @EverythingMagicPro99
      @EverythingMagicPro99  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but not everyone has the experience or knowledge to make themselves a holder. Other options should have been included on the tutorial.
      Glad you like my review though. I try to make them as helpful as possible without allowing anyone to recreate the method.

      As a professional magician, time is a vital inclusion for the research and consideration of new ideas or products. While I appreciate that you covered all the important details, I think it could've been done in half the time.

      @RogerWellsMagic timing is difficult, Roger. I try to include as much information as possible to inform everyone from beginners and hobbyists to professionals like yourself.
      I have recommended in the past that if people struggle for time, you can always watch at 1.5x playback speed. I don’t speak fast and energetically like some people, so I do try my best to be concise.

    I have it and I have found that the jacket I wear hides it easily, even though I have somewhat of a paunch. I have also gotten it to work with an unbuttoned long sleeve shirt over a tshirt, and even a hoodie. It really depends on the fit of the particular clothing you are wearing, the stiffness of the fabric, and your body type. The jacket being used to demonstrate in this video appears to be a bit stiff and prone to stick out straight forward - even the side of the jacket that is not being used as cover is sticking forward. I recommend that anyone thinking of buying this do a simple test with a tall thin tumbler-style glass and see if they can hide it under their jacket in the manner required (pretty easy to guess how. A belt helps.)

    • @EverythingMagicPro99
      @EverythingMagicPro99  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For sure, Tor. With the suits that I wear when performing, the method won’t work. For others with different clothing, it will.
      I recommended exactly the same in a reply to another comment - put a tumbler in the waist of trousers to check how well one can conceal it.
      For those who the method suits, it’s a wonderful effect.

      Same with me as well performed it 3 times now and Iam fairly big I have no issues with it at all with a jacket on don't understand him oh sorry professional magician well iam a part time one and it works for me 😊

    • @EverythingMagicPro99
      @EverythingMagicPro99  ปีที่แล้ว

      Larger people’s clothing is often cut with a straight or relaxed fit to accommodate. This can make it easier for larger people to conceal items, which is why I say it’s specific to everyone.
      Me being a professional magician doesn’t make me better or worse than you, it just means I have more experience performing to discerning audiences in real world, paid environments.

    Thorough review! This is why we need reviews, the marketer of the effects never give us the details up front. How great would it be if the ad simply stated: Jacket or untucked shirt and belt required.

    Great review on this effect! However what body types cannot use this?

    • @EverythingMagicPro99
      @EverythingMagicPro99  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s not just one or two body types. Results will be different for everyone.
      To test, try shoving a small glass in your trouser waistband at your pelvis. Steve’s method doesn’t do this but if you can comfortably conceal a similar sized glass under a jacket in this way, you should be okay.

    • @EverythingMagicPro99
      @EverythingMagicPro99  ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely something to consider. If you have the right, loose clothing it might work. To test it, stick a similar glass in your trousers and test if it will work because the bag itself is clever.

    What is the trick you use to accomplish the hold out?

    • @EverythingMagicPro99

    • @torravengael4490
      @torravengael4490 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can try to approximate the hiding of the glass with one you have at home first. I was worried because my stomach sticks out a bit. Weirdly, that fact seemed to help.

    • @EverythingMagicPro99
      @EverythingMagicPro99  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s why I say in the review that it’s not one body type that works, it’s different for everyone. Smaller and larger.
      Not to mention that looser or relaxed fit trousers will help a lot, too.
      One thing I did forget to mention is that if performing with a T-shirt - the longer the T-shirt is, the more obvious it is that there’s something suspicious. If the T-shirt is untucked that is.

    Hmm just bought this and now im worried someone stile my spalsh bottle production years back hoping my pro show holder will work if the original handling fails. The white bag is why bought it. I genuinely thought the bag was the gimmick now im not sure its gone work for the routine/show i wanted to do with it.

      Oh, yes! It’s good for a sitting performance. It’s being marketed as a stand-up effect though and whilst it’s good, it falls short of being great.

  • @artmartello
    @artmartello ปีที่แล้ว

    Well stated, but not one of the reviewers brings up the point that most paper bags are brown in color, not white. Even with that in mind, it is still a great trick and the holdout is not such a big deal.

    • @EverythingMagicPro99
      @EverythingMagicPro99  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s very dependant on country and area. There are plenty of shops I visit regularly that have white bags like this.

    I completely understand and agree with what you're going for, but there is unnecessary redundancy. This is some thing I see many magicians do across-the-board, whether they are lecturing, giving reviews, or instructional videos. I would recommend reviewing the content to see what things are said many times, yet don't provide necessary reinforcement or value. It's not an attack, and hopefully reviewed/applied in a valuable way.

    • @EverythingMagicPro99
      @EverythingMagicPro99  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not received as an attack at all. I welcome all constructive criticism and I’m glad you left a comment. I read every single comment and I try to take everything in to consideration to continue improving my reviews.

    I think the jacket you wear is unusually stiff. I've never seen a jacket that holds itself open quite like that.

    • @EverythingMagicPro99
      @EverythingMagicPro99  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Maybe. All my suits are tailor made, so it’s possible they don’t hide the glass as well as other clothing.
      I did try it with more casual jackets with the same result. I wear fitted clothing. To be able to perform this I’d recommend “regular” or “relaxed” fit clothing.
      It’s a good effect if it suits your body type and clothing style.

    Really enjoy your reviews but the repetitive TLDR is getting extremely annoying. I believe it means short for "too long; didn't read", is internet slang to say that some text being referred to has been ignored because of its length. If I’m incorrect, please clarify.

    • @EverythingMagicPro99
      @EverythingMagicPro99  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you’re correct in the meaning. It’s also used as an internet version of a very quick breakdown of a subject. The average viewership of my reviews is 4 minutes.
      I add a TLDR for people who don’t have time (or patience) for the whole review. Or people can judge from the TLDR if they’re interested enough in the product to watch the entire review.
      I’ll figure out how to do a community poll to see if the majority want to keep the TLDR. I’m happy to get rid of it if people don’t like it.
      I want my videos to be as useful as possible and if the majority feed back opinions like this I can work on improving the review structure.
      There are time stamps in all of my reviews to help you easily skip to specific parts.

If someone's attention span is so short that they can't pay attention long enough to watch a 13 minute review I really wonder if they have the patience to practice magic in such a way that would allow them to do a convincing performance.

    Angle for the production off a bottle, really? Have you ever produce a bottle with a ballon or a silk, no angle at all for me. With a balloon nothing to see even in my point off view.

      Yes, I’ve used Splash Bottle production before. Appearing Glass doesn’t work for me. If it works for you then it’s a great effect 👍

  • @sugarandfriendsgermany
    @sugarandfriendsgermany ปีที่แล้ว

    Unfortunately the promo video gives the impression that the glass comes out of nowhere. This is indeed misleading.But I think it is not right to say that it's wasted money for people who cannot perform the trick. There are so many alternatives. You can use a different glass and/or a glass holder. There are plenty on the market. David Stone wears a massive wine bottle under his jacket and you do not notice it because he moves his body accordingly instead of staying stiff (like you are showing in your video). The core to me is that the producer gave the wrong name to the product. It is not only about the glass. The bag creates the wonder. You can let appear other objects such as an iPhone, a Rubiks cube etc. Play with your imagination and you will discover great applications

    • @EverythingMagicPro99
      @EverythingMagicPro99  ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely, Andreas. As I say in the review, the special bag is very clever and if people can get it to work for them it’s a great addition to someone’s repertoire.
      My body shape along with my style of clothing doesn’t work with the method taught on the instructions. It may be perfect for others though.
      It’s just a shame there isn’t more information about alternative holdouts that Steve Thompson recommends or something similar.
      As you say, it’s possible to utilise other objects with the clever bag but there’s not much mention of that other than making a Rubic cube appear (if I remember rightly off the top of my head).
      Despite its short comings, it’s a good trick but as you say, maybe it should have been focused around the bag rather than the glass of liquid.

    Got it today, such a let down. It's okay but I was expecting a hold out... I didn't expect to hide it in my fucking pants. For 40$ I'd expect a better tutorial and more than one bag... minimum effort for a 45$ one hit wonder trick.

      It doesn’t have to be a formal jacket. You can perform it in a denim jacket, windbreaker, over shirt….you just need to be able to comfortably hide a small-ish tumbler.
      If you can find an outfit that works, it’s a good effect.
