    A tip on the hot glue and stamp part of this video: I made faux wax seals with hot glue for christmas gift wrapping. I found a tutorial on making them, which suggested getting the stamp very cold before pressing it on the hot glue, so it wouldn't stick. I was in a hurry, and had no time to whip up an ice pack - or to wait for the hot glue to naturally cool down. Instead, I grabbed my compressed air bottle (the stuff you clean electronics with). I sprayed that on the stamp, pressed it into a blob of hot glue (I didn't put any on the stamp, just pressed the cold stamp in the blob), then sprayed the blob and the stamp with the compressed air again, and the faux wax seal was done in under a minute. No air bubbles, just a perfect imprint of the stamp, without waiting. For my purposes, I didn't use resin in these, just some gold paint, but they could have been used as molds, too. I didn't have those frames for my wax seals, but the hot glue hardens so quickly with the cold air, it didn't have time to run away.

      I found these little spinning trays that have cabochons that fit inside of them… I’m wondering if I could use one to make a little mold for the stamps and then put the resin pieces back into the trays with a cabochons over it…. It might work… I may have to try it to see if it would work…

    Hiya, Wendy. What a great idea. They look amazing and I agree with you about how much better they look when you can see through them.
    A little tip for you, have a bowl of cold water next to you when making the resin pieces, so you can pop the mold and cured resin into the cold water which will cool both down so you can demold them faster without the risk of the hot glue being too warm still.
    All the best, Diane x

      Yes I am and do have some but I don’t really like it tbh. It’s too fast and trying to get it how you want it is a pain. Plus the detail isn’t that clear with it as it’s too rubbery.

    Pour some alcohol around metal stamp and it may relase easily from the hot glue.

    Quick question. Can you paint mica powder onto metal?

    • @Toonpish
      @Toonpish  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but it won’t stick. You need to use metal leaf size glue first to get it to stick 😀💜👍

    I love all your videos! But whenever I've tried to use hot glue to make a mould, it dries totally solid and is completely unbendable so I couldn't get my resin out at all! What hot glue do you use?

    Usually when i use uv resin it comes out sticky. Got any advice for that? Thats why i honestly haven't used it in years.

    • @Toonpish
      @Toonpish  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Then you are in for a treat 😀😀 uv resin is much better these days. I had the same problem years ago and hated it. But the new formulas and better curing lamps, makes it easier and without sticky at the end.
      Honestly it’s much better now 😀💜
