And a lot of people have traits without having the disorders (ex. Dr. Honda has mentioned having Narcissistic traits, but he seems to bend over backward to make sure that he's being balanced in the way he approaches things). There probably isn't a cure per se, I think you're right about that, but there are ways to work with your brain stuff to provide better outcomes.

Dr Honda, It is good that there are therapists like this, whether you disagree with their ideology or not, as I am noticing a therapist like you is showing far too much judgment in order to work with him. I am a female, also have some more avoidant leaning attachment , though it’s the more mixed anxious one and it took me months of working with a therapist to be able to cry in front of him & it’s not because I am narcissistic. Although , I do not have the grandiosity of Andrew Tate nor care for the things he does and am more vulnerable in different ways , it takes longer, so maybe that’s why the therapist hung in with me .
This is a great segment. I always thought Andrew Tate must have had extensive child abuse when I first heard him, his personality, his point of views, etc. I dont have any degrees or classes in psychology, but his personality seemed so deformed; i thought he mist have undergone extreme abuse. I looked into it & couldnt really find any evidence or stories of him being physically or sexually abused....so i felt confused So, I 💕💕 this segment, because it FINALLY is providing some insight. Peehaps it will help formulate a better response than just horror & derision when i come across someone as insecure & misogynistic as Tate in the future.
He and Tristan often joke off the abusive nature of their father. Off handed comments like "my dad used to just push me over so I learned life can knock you over at any time " or the haircut story that they didn't get into in this. When at 11, its the first time he is seeing his dad in a year, he complains about his haircut because his mother had been upset about it. His dad flipped out screaming she was turning his sons into weaklings. She called the cops and he went back to his hotel. The next day he picks up Andrew takes him to a barber shop and has them shave his head as punishment for caring about how he looked, then drops him off and goes back to the US.
LOL Tell Stacy, my husband talks too much too and has long winded stories. Sometimes it's so hard for my scatterbrain to listen to them and when they are too long I start thinking about random things while he is talking. And I get caught not paying attention. 😂🤣😂
You know what I find interesting. I don't really think people are being manipulative when they are being emotionally. But as a Schizoid person I feel like over emotional people are uncomfortable and it feels manipulative to me- even though I know they are being normal and not manipulative. The only exception for me is children. I believe children have genuine emotions and they are the most genuine and honest human beings. Anyway, that is kind of why I like other Schizoid people more than non-Schizoids. We can just sit there and veg together with no expectations or judgement and then not be bothered when the other disappears or retreats for a month or two. If I look at the people back home actually the majority leans towards the mentality of state sadly. There's an underlying force of insecurity that leads to a lack of connection with woman, which leads to a lack of connection with woman with men as well. And this confirms the conservative bias because that's the bubble they generated. I know a lot of dudes who never had much attention from girls and they generate such an unpleasant atmosphere because of it which makes woman respond in rejection. Proving to them the bias that woman are this or that. While on the female side this leads to disconnection and a sense of objectification. Once you're in this loop, how the heck would they get out, they're bias gets confirmed everywhere because of it. I hate to discuss this with dudes in this position because I know its nonsense and they cannot because they don't have the experience because they don't embody the safety or lack of need for the attention

Well, the condition of a psychopath or sociopath is just a construct that sometimes shows up in the literature, but they're not DSM diagnoses. They would fall under the umbrella of antisocial personality disorder - which only a small percentage actually commit serial murders. I think sometimes by drawing these distinctions and putting labels on things, it can dehumanize these individuals. I know how it can sound to call people like Ted Bundy human, when people like this have committed the worst crimes possible and with no empathy or remorse. However, we don't want to put them in some non-human category either. I think people do this sometimes because it feels safer. But at the end of day I think these people are just very underdeveloped. Like children, they have unbridled emotions and no way to cope with them. They don't have emotion to manipulate. They manipulate because they are trying to get their needs met. People do this all the time, and it's not always a bad thing. People on the antisocial spectrum can also lack empathy, similar to the way children sometimes do, but even this is not a given in. To recieve a diagnose means the individual meets enough of the criteria - a lack of empaty may or may not be part of that criteria, depending on the individual. Additionally, I think of these individuals as having an underdeveloped prefrontal cortex (controls executive functioning) that is responsible for moral reasoning and decision-making. It's possible they just didn't get/ relieve the attunement at the critical point in their lives (through mirror neurons), which prevented their brains from having the necessary foundation to develop these things in adulthood. Couple that with trauma or abuse, ideological indoctrination, bad modeling, or repetitive rewards for bad behavior, and you may get a really bad sh*t storm.
Interesting. Would like to know that as well. I feel that David is a good therapist, and, so long as he doesn't let his views interfere with his practice, it should be ok??? For example, my pediatrician is opposite the political spectrum ( snooped on his social media. lol) as me. However, he is a great pedi, and I entrust my kids into his care despite his views.

You can NOT go into another mans house and debate him about his mental model that took him his whole life to create. You have to let him speak and see make good questions to assure the speaker that he is safe to express more. If you go in there right off the bat trying to challenge his way of thinking his guard is gonna be the stongest it can. However going in with a friendly demeanor and asking the right questions allows the guard to ease off more and get to something more profound. The therapist also doesnt just agree with everything he says. He inputs his idea and if he sees andrews guard coming up he'll back off.... easy
That is one of the things that I dislikes about Trump, is that he has drastically changed his political opinion through the course is his adulthood. He went from being a staunch liberal to a staunch conservative; and it is obvious to be that he did that to fulfill his own agendas.
with Trump, I genuinely feel he was a middle of the road businessman....giving $$$$ to both sides, but preferring the old time classic democrat... Thing is, he noticed policies that were harming his businesses, looked into it, and felt pragmatically, that he wanted to change things. That put him more on the right side of the aisle. You notice he hates establishment, whether it is R or D...And D has gotten more radical throughout the years, so classic liberalism isn't as strong of an influence as the more "progressive" side. So, maybe he's "rebelling" against the establishments on both sides???

I've heard therapy can work for Narcissists, but they have to know recognize that it's a problem for it to work. AT doesn't seem to be at that point.

I believe they naturally have some emotion, but don't understand empathy? They also don't have a conscience.
For example, Ted Bundy would rage and get excited when doing his thing...that's emotional overkill...pun not intended. And, heard he was quite fearful of being executed. Unbelievable that he thought killing and torturing people for fun was ok. When he couldn't handle 1 second of pain when killed. Also,, heard he was abused and neglected, yet, like A.T. he defended his upbringing.
@@kimberlyevers7031 Yes narcissists do- sadness and anger, but usually only when they are using it to manipulate/get their way or if they finally lose everything and everyone and then they throw a temper tantrum like a toddler and even then they are on search for new supply constantly. I was referring to psychopaths and sociopaths not having genuine emotion. They are a pro at being likable/charming and pretending/faking emotion/love.
Well, the condition of a psychopath or sociopath is just a construct that sometimes shows up in the literature, but they're not DSM diagnoses. They would fall under the umbrella of antisocial personality disorder - which only a small percentage actually commit serial murders. I think sometimes by drawing these distinctions and putting labels on things, it can dehumanize these individuals. I know how it can sound to call people like Ted Bundy human, when people like this have committed the worst crimes possible and with no empathy or remorse. However, we don't want to put them in some non-human category either. I think people do this sometimes because it feels safer. But at the end of day I think these people are just very underdeveloped. Like children, they have unbridled emotions and no way to cope with them. They don't have emotion to manipulate. They manipulate because they are trying to get their needs met. People do this all the time, and it's not always a bad thing. People on the antisocial spectrum can also lack empathy, similar to the way children sometimes do, but even this is not a given in. To recieve a diagnose means the individual meets enough of the criteria - a lack of empaty may or may not be part of that criteria, depending on the individual. Additionally, I think of these individuals as having an underdeveloped prefrontal cortex (controls executive functioning) that is responsible for moral reasoning and decision-making. It's possible they just didn't get/ relieve the attunement at the critical point in their lives (through mirror neurons), which prevented their brains from having the necessary foundation to develop these things in adulthood. Couple that with trauma or abuse, ideological indoctrination, bad modeling, or repetitive rewards for bad behavior, and you may get a really bad sh*t storm.

Interesting. Would like to know that as well. I feel that David is a good therapist, and, so long as he doesn't let his views interfere with his practice, it should be ok??? For example, my pediatrician is opposite the political spectrum ( snooped on his social media. lol) as me. However, he is a great pedi, and I entrust my kids into his care despite his views.

And this is why he is there interviewing andrew and u are here on the sidlines. Because this is a therapy session, not a debate. You can NOT go into another mans house and debate him about his mental model that took him his whole life to create. You have to let him speak and see make good questions to assure the speaker that he is safe to express more. If you go in there right off the bat trying to challenge his way of thinking his guard is gonna be the stongest it can. However going in with a friendly demeanor and asking the right questions allows the guard to ease off more and get to something more profound. The therapist also doesnt just agree with everything he says. He inputs his idea and if he sees andrews guard coming up he'll back off.... easy

That is one of the things that I dislikes about Trump, is that he has drastically changed his political opinion through the course is his adulthood. He went from being a staunch liberal to a staunch conservative; and it is obvious to be that he did that to fulfill his own agendas.

with Trump, I genuinely feel he was a middle of the road businessman....giving $$$$ to both sides, but preferring the old time classic democrat... Thing is, he noticed policies that were harming his businesses, looked into it, and felt pragmatically, that he wanted to change things. That put him more on the right side of the aisle. You notice he hates establishment, whether it is R or D...And D has gotten more radical throughout the years, so classic liberalism isn't as strong of an influence as the more "progressive" side. So, maybe he's "rebelling" against the establishments on both sides???
