Paju (Korean pronunciation: [ˈpʰa.dʑu]) is a city in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Paju was made a city in 1997; it had previously been a county (gun).
The city area of Paju is 672.78 km2 (259.76 sq mi),[2] and it is located just south of Panmunjeom on the 38th parallel. In 2015, the population of Paju was over 427,000.[2] To defend the South Korean capital, Seoul, many U.S. and South Korean army bases are set up in the area. In 2002, the northernmost South Korean railway station, Dorasan, was opened. North Korean territory and Kaesong City can be seen from Mount Dora in the city.
Heyri Art Valley is the largest art village in South Korea and its Korean culture and many genres of art attract visitors. The area includes residences, workrooms and galleries for artists, museums and performance spaces designed by artists. It was planned from 1998 and its name Heyri is derived from a traditional farming song of Paju. Architects tried to combine the view of nature with the valley when they make plan. The valley hosts art performances appealing to audiences of all ages. The attractive theme brings people to visit every weekend, and more people visit the valley in spring and autumn because it holds art festival during the seasons.
Paju Book City (파주출판도시), located in Gyoha-eup (Paju, Gyeonggi-do), is a cultural complex entirely devoted to the creation, publication, merchandising and sales of Korean books. The "city" belongs to Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. Paju Book City is home to 250 publishers with over 10,000 workers. It covers the entire process of publishing from planning to printing and distribution and is home to a large number of book cafes and bookstores.
Imjingak (Korean: 임진각; Hanja: 臨津閣, pronounced Ihm-jin-gak), and sometimes in English called the Imjingak "resort", is a park located on the banks of the Imjin River in the city of Paju, South Korea. The park has many statues and monuments regarding the Korean War. There is also a restaurant, an observation deck, a pool in the shape of the Korean peninsula, and even a small amusement park.
The park was built to console those from both sides who are unable to return to their hometowns, friends and families because of the division of Korea.
Imjingak is where the "Freedom Bridge" lies. The Freedom Bridge crosses the Imjin river. It is a former railroad bridge which was used by repatriated POWs/soldiers returning from the North. It is more famous,[clarification needed] however, and until 1998 was the only point of egress in the western sector other than Liberty Bridge (which was controlled by the South Korean Army) onto the DMZ, and the only direct link to Camp Greaves, Liberty Bell, and Panmunjom. This is not to be confused with the "bridge of freedom" which is merely an access bridge to the main span that allowed the one way southbound traffic to pass by while northbound traffic stood waiting its turn to cross; it now crosses a stream adjacent to the Imjin river and connects with the North-South railway.

제가 살고 있는 곳에서 차로 5분 거리에 있는 아주 가까운 마장호수입니다. 2km 정도 거리로 걸어서도 30분 정도면 충분합니다. 아주 경치좋은 아름다운 곳이죠. 저희집 반려견 댕댕이들과 함께 자주 산책하는 곳이기도 합니다. 이 곳은 경기도 양주시 백석읍 기산리와 경기도 파주시 광탄면 기산리의 접경 지역입니다. 서로 다른 양주시와 파주시인데 마을 이름은 각각 기산리로 함께 쓰고 있습니다. 제가 살고 있는 곳은 양주시 기산리이죠. 출렁다리를 건널 때 처음에는 조금 떨리는 마음이 있어도 다녀오시면 기분이 좋아질겁니다. 시간되시는 분은 걷기 코스를 통해서 팔각정에도 다녀오세요. 거기서 보는 호수 뒷편 경치가 아주 좋습니다 ~

Wow...just wow! This is so beautiful! I gotta go there, just to see the view from the cafe and walk the entire lake. Those fish are HUGE! What are they feeding them? That was interesting seeing the helicopters training, they sorta mess up the aesthetics of the natural surroundings but I understand, I've had firefighters in my family for a lot of years.

Hi! Maybe I find the Korean spirit best in these places! I know the big cities, with skyscrapers and amazing, crowded highways, with the economy reached the highest level means all South Korea!. But I feel another vibration in free nature as here, where human intervention is minimal! You can feel the air vibrating, well beyond the noise of the helicopter, the trees in the forest, the water! The water with its shades of pure jade is amazing and has a special vibration! I feel it, here over 8000km away. Thanks! 💜

If you want to see cultural assets, I recommend Gyeongju. It is 2 hours away from Busan. Gyeongju was the capital of ancient Korea. It is my hometown 😄

마장호수 저도 한번 가본적 있는데 그땐 그 바이러스 터지기 전이였고 주말이라서 인파가 장난 아니었어요 다리 건널때 대기 시간 있을 정도였는데 한 1/3쯤 갔다가 다시 돌아왔어요 무섭지만 끝까지 건너고싶긴했는데 저보다 쫄보인 일행이 돌아가자고 해서 다시 가게된다면 그땐 성공하고싶네요

저기 겨울에 가면 엄청 썰렁하더군요 그리고 저런 아름다운 호숫가에도 꼭 구석진 곳에 보면 쓰레기 함부로 버려져있고 그렇더라구요 저기까지 차로 가는 길에도 지저분한 구간 대박많고 꼭 양심없이 저런 곳에 함부로 담배꽁초 쓰레기 버린 분들은 처벌받았으면 좋겠네요

질본에서도 밝혔듯이 저정도 밀집정도의 야외에서는 굳이 마스크 안써도 되요.
