How often do you see a mesh infection in relationship with a infected sigmoid diverculitis . I had lap . Hernia surgery inguinal 5/31/2024. No issues so far however have had diverc bleeding and inflammation in the past.
I have indirect inguinal hernia containing fat that is 6.4 x 5.4 x 3.4 cm with 1.4 cm neck. I know it's not huge, but what size classification would it be? I also have a 'small' bilateral hydrocele. Would this be considered an inguinoscrotal hernia? Whatever it is it has caused 100% ED. I assume i should have open surgery to repair the hernia and find out if any nerves or veins have been damaged.
See a hernia specialist to determine the best surgical approach for you . Inguinoscrotal hernias are those that reach the scrotum with them contents. Small hydroceles are inconsequential. The ED should improve after repair.
Swelling and pain in the testicles after hernia repair surgery, especially when done robotically, can be concerning but are relatively common. Here are some reasons why this might happen: Inflammation and Trauma: The surgical procedure, even when done robotically, involves manipulating tissues and structures near the testicles, which can lead to inflammation and swelling. The testicles might become temporarily swollen as a reaction to the trauma. Fluid Accumulation (Seroma): Sometimes, fluid can accumulate in the area around the surgical site, including near the testicles, causing swelling. Hematoma: Blood can sometimes pool in the scrotum or around the testicles after surgery, leading to swelling and discomfort. Lymphatic Disruption: The surgery can affect the lymphatic drainage in the groin area, leading to fluid buildup and swelling in the testicles. Nerve Irritation: The nerves in the groin area can be irritated during surgery, which may lead to pain that radiates to the testicles. It's important to monitor the symptoms closely. If the swelling and pain are severe, worsening, or accompanied by other symptoms like fever, it would be wise to contact your surgeon or healthcare provider. They may need to assess the situation to ensure there are no complications, such as infection or a more serious issue like testicular torsion. AI
