I'm thankful to have lived through the 70's and 80's when music like this was played on the radio all day. It was better than Sirius now! Foreigner was hugh back then and this video brings back sweet memories. I kinda feel sorry for todays kids whose only memories of this song is from a video game.
This was 'our' song for 25 years, and obviously it still is, even though he died two years ago. He used to sing it to me on my voicemail from time to time. I heard it in the car today it all came flooding back, I still miss and love you Joe.
Bassman, EVERY song was awesome on their first 4 albums. Awesome band. Lou is one of the very best and we are all lucky we got to experience his magical vocals!
Thanks Lou for all the great music. I really enjoyed growing up with it. Like you we all are much older now. It's great that we can all still enjoy yesterday too!:)
incredible emotion. this stands out as one of the best rock songs ever written. and the voice behind it is one of, if not the best rock voice of its generation.
foreigner ,Billy idol...and more....when i was young, just heard their great music and loved it,never really realized the faces behind the music. now i'm so thankful that i have time to appreciate their work.
I love this song so much ,and it sounds even better today than it did when it was first released.this was always a great "last call" song at the clubs in the 80's,nice slow dance. Thanks much for posting this one! x
Oh i loved that album in te 80s so much, remembering me and my friend driving his first car on dark autumn nights with rain and leaves aginst the windshield talking about life when this song came trough the speakers ...good times my friends
I was also lucky to have been a kid in the summer of 1978 listening to Double Vision and Peter Framptom Live while cruising with my older brothers all over Long Island, New York in a hopped up 1969 Pontiac GTO. That stuff is burned in my memory. I can only wish similar memories on the younger generations.
One of the greatest super bands ever and Lou gramm had an amazing voice and it was a great shame when he got his illness and never really recovered back to his normal self vocally, I really miss the great bands like these boys, awesome
the music is a reflection of our social culture of the people.and lately what we are living is reflected in our music. there is no talent today, there is nothing but instant solutio or satisfaction no hard work to reach goals all is instant, botox ,hip hop ,regueaton no one study their vocals, music or anything. a reflection of our own culture.......who agrees with me here?
hello noemioli I saw the complete interview on a DVD I bought in France, called the Foreigner story "feels like the very first time" (a black jacket), provided by Warner, in 1991 - enjoy it !! as myself - saw it thousand times !!
well Im 18 and Foreigner is my favourite band. I just know them cause my parents listened to it since i was a baby... I agree, they are so talented, high quality. but they'r not that known... WHY?!
Making music was the whole idea! Money came after because they were excellent and passionate... contrary to today's noise and mumbo jumbo except for very few singers/bands.

That song makes me cry. - Why no shots of the keyboards? The synth makes this song magical, and his voice.

Great interpretation by Lou Gramm. Nobody can hit high notes over 25 years without throat damage but that cyborg John Farnham.

I actually prefer this arrangement to the studio version; with the pared down first verse and chorus.
