  • Learn how Okuma’s conversational programming software, Advanced One Touch (AOT), streamlines your tasks to get the job done. Join us in this overview of programming on an Okuma lathe using geometry from a DXF file. Examples will include how to run and restart straight from AOT or through G-code.

Newer OKUMA 1-touch IGF is a joy to work with when you get hang of it compared to the older style IGF programming on the older okumas … my shop just bought all new okumas with 1-touch IGF software really nice

Hello, could you tell me why i get an "invalid shape is included" when i try to confirm shape? It happens even with the most simple shape, like circle.

Very cool, but isn’t it just easier to do all this in cam/cad software and simply import?

Thank you for watching this video and for sharing your question. I consulted a member of our engineering team and they shared the following: "CAD/CAM software relies on a good post-processor which could possibly give you bad code in some cases, but AOT will give you a working program every time. Simple programs can be created either on PC-AOT or at the control without occupying a CAD/CAM license that could be used to work on more complex parts. AOT on the machine gives you the ability to tweak speeds and feeds as you are running and feed that information back to the AOT file, eliminating the need to capture it on paper and go back to CAM software and repost. AOT can create processes automatically and look at tools currently available, which can be more labor intensive in many CAM software packages." We recommend connecting with your local Okuma distributor if you'd like to learn more about AOT. If you don't know who your local distributor is, you can locate their contact information here: www.okuma.com/distributors
