These units really are great for DJ's as a lot of gigs now will call for uplighting around the room. You could easily end up spending more on DMX cable than the price of these units, so it's really a perfect solution. On the other side, I've got more than $1k in DMX cable run in our theater, and that still wouldn't come close to buying a professional wireless DMX system. It's all in the type of work you're doing and what works best for that scenario. Thanks for posting the video!
This problem with the lower end wireless DMX gear isn't the range. It's maintaining a solid connection between the transmitter and receiver. If you're doing DJ work then it's not really a big deal if your lights flash or get stuck on an attribute, but if you're doing actual stage lighting it's not acceptable. I'm not saying the ADJ stuff is bad, it's just that this product isn't anywhere near the range of professional wireless DMX units.
this are pretty useful , at first i was like big chance of a problem but now i think there bloody useful especially for uplighting , gr8 vid as always , loads of information. does the wireless lag ,if so is it really noticeable
What if you don't have the units next to other when you go to pair them. Can you push one register button and then run strait over to the other one and push it or do you have to do it at the exact same time.
Great videos. I know this one sold now but I'm trying to watch them all! Can anybody answer a question? If I was to have two groups of fixtures, say one group of effects on a tripod, and another group of uplighting, could I use two of these receivers linked to one transmitter and control my effects and uplighting from the same control desk (like an Obey 40)?
It would have been a lot smarter if they had thought to do power in and out on the unit. I know a lot of new lights have this, but there are still a lot of great lights that don't. Would have been an absolutely ideal unit then.
Hey everyone I'm new to DMX thing. If i chain 4 Fog/co2 machines together, and link the last one to the wireless receiver. Can I activate the fog on all the fog machines at the very same time, by only using 1 channel of my DMX Controller..? Regards
