Outstanding video and you pretty much covered all my questions. Seriously Thank you!!! My biggest issue with the Chauvet proprietary hardware is that you are held hostage to that brand, and anytime they want to discontinue support for the next greater thing you are left with a bunch of very expensive devices that are no longer supported. My best guess is that as soon as the internal batteries start to die about 3 years from now Chauvet will have moved on to avoid any of those pesky complaint and warranty issues. The fact that they already support W-DMX is a clue they may already be doing this. Looking at the very limited product list of D-Fi ready products that it seems to be a solution looking for a problem. If you are a Mobile DJ then this is almost a guarantee that you be losing money or just breaking even to pay off all the equipment for the next 20+ Gigs. For my mobile rig I am currently using Luminaire 3 on IOS running on an iPad and using Wireless DMX transmitter/receiver dongles. This seems to control any DMX devices with a modern touch screen interface. The best part is the total price is still cheaper than just (1) of Chauvet's proprietary dmx interfaces. Note: No... I am not affiliated with Luminaire or their company, just a fellow lighting guy trying to get the best possible solution at the least expensive price.
Hi PSSL, can either of the Chauvet or ADJ wireless DMX lights be connected together and run just from a master/slave program without using the transceiver or controllers? Thanks Darren
Forgive me if this is a dumb question but i'm in a three piece band and have five dmx lights, i would like to be able to control them on stage. Is it possible to do this using a tablet? I'm a bit dubious about relying on wifi since it wouldn't be practical for every venue we play at, so would it be doable going from a Tablet micro USB, maybe using a micro USB to USB adapter then through an enttec to the lights? Ideally i could have the tablet on stage and use a footswitch from the enttec to go through the scenes. Any help would be hugely appreciated.
I would think yes because both are sending just DMX signal. However, being different manufacturers I wouldn't be 100% sure. I'd recommend calling the two manufacturers.
Hello my colleague, I am Moroccan and I love this work, but the prices are high. Can you give me things that I do not need and I will be grateful to you

Are the different wireless dmx systems compatible? Can I mix a D-Fi freedom par with a American DJ WiFly WashBar?
I would think yes because both are sending just DMX signal. However, being different manufacturers I wouldn't be 100% sure. I'd recommend calling the two manufacturers.

If i want to use wireless dmx for an event that will run for more then a month. Can i depend on it not to stop working if it loses power or something
Once the power comes back on, everything should be fine, if that's what you're asking.
Do you have any about DMX software or DMX WiFly dongles?
Whats the typical wireless coverage area?
30Ft? 300FT? Thanks
The typical range on these kinds of systems is 400-700ft (max. unobstructed).
