- I love the Mechanoids/Mechonoids, couldn't really tell you why. Just love their design in particular and The Chase is great.

I liked the scene where the Dalek is seen begging for help as it cries out "To-tal-ly Im-mo-bil-ized!" as the Mechanoid applies a "one-arm Bear Hug" and rubs it in by yelling "Trapped! Trapped!" I was hoping the Mechanoid would have continued subjugating that particular Dalek by using its flaming cutting disc to remove the Dalek's ray gun and plunger arms as it yelled "Am pu-ta-ted! Am-pu-ta-ted!"

They're kind of like Daleks, only clumsy and impractical.

They'd probably call the police and have you charged for assault. :P
They'd understand your frustration, and say that if they'd known Doctor Who would become the phenomenon it is, they'd have found some way to preserve the tapes....but budget concerns and unplanned fires got in the way.

Well, they were really only in one episode of one story, so I don’t think people understood them in the 60s either!
Bring back the Mechanoids to the New Who soon! Let Nicholas Briggs do the voice of the Mechanoids, like how he did it in the Big Finish Audio drama and the 2020 Daleks animated webisodes

The first classic Dalek story I watched. I love both the Daleks and Mechanoids. The Dalek design was beautifully refined and the Supreme Dalek looks fantastic.

All the times I have watched The Chase over the years, and I have never looked at the story from their point of view. Thank you for shining a light on their emotional, heart warming, dramatic, life affirming tale. I feel like my life has changed after watching this.
Thanks for posting, I don’t think I’ve actually heard Enter Enter Zero Stop on Dr Who since I was a child. I’m well into my sixties now but still remembered it! 😊
I have to think that the reason the Mechanoids are so large is because they store a lot of tools in their bodies and that when they are deployed, they open up to reveal many mechnical arms with both digits and tools on the end, otherwise I have no idea how they could've built anything.
I do enjoy Vicki and the Dr mimicking them.

The archiving work that the Dr. Who fanbase has done is astonishing. It's great to have media from back then archived and available for viewing today...and edited into bite-sized clips for modern audiences who don't have 22 minute-long attention spans! haha

87 subscribers It's a good thing the BBC have finally managed to brink the Mechanoids back recently in the Doctor Who web-series "Daleks!", which was an animated series of five 13-15 minute episodes starring the Daleks released weekly on the official Doctor Who TH-cam channel as part of the Time Lord Victorious series. It was written by James Goss and starred Nicholas Briggs, Joe Sugg, Anjli Mohindra, and Ayesha Antoine. It was produced by Studio Liddell.

I do one day eventually plan on getting an actual Doctor Who Mechanoid action figure (although they're extremely hard to find especially right here in the United States of America, where I'm actually from. I wonder if they still have them available on ebay?)

Both names are used in offical material, Mechonoids is the orignal spelling while Mechanoids is the current spelling. Like for example in the Daleks mini series and recent river song audio it's Mechanoids while in the old comics it's Mechonoids.
Edit: Actually not even, even in old comics it's Mechanoid.
