- Okay hi guys, and welcome to this extra special show, because today we're celebrating 7 years of the Urban Gentry channel and brand!
To commemorate this happy occasion, I reflect on the making of the channel, its past, and its future. I also highlight some of your favorite watch review intros, comedic moments, and collaborations with the lovably pompous Hugo Mountbatten-a self-appointed staple on the channel.
A massive thank you to all the good Gentry out there for sharing this TH-cam journey with me. It's been a fun, exciting, educational, and wild ride thus far, and it wouldn't have been as amazing without all of you-my fellow watch enthusiasts. From your comments, questions, and watch suggestions to your watch related photos and memes on Instagram and in The Urban Gentry FB group, you've made the past seven years an absolute pleasure, and you're a big part of the reason I enjoy making videos about this watch hobby we all love. Yours was the first watch channel I found.....one of two watch channels I drew and still draw inspiration from....and you have helped me quite a bit in adding watches to my channel. Brilliant TGV, I've only been a subscriber less than a year but this is one of the best channels that I have subscribed to. Great informed views, well research and fun too. The videos with Mark are like a double act all with good humour. Hugo is a brilliant addition and the intro's are worth the subscription on it's own. Keep up the great work TGV.

I keep coming back and watching hours and hours of your videos at one time. This channel is one of a very few channels on TH-cam that has that feeling of by-gone era of TH-cam: Your videos don’t come off as forced like it’s a job but done out of passion.

Relatively new to the channel in the last 6 months or so but I have to say I'm very impressed. The balance between irreverent humour and being highly informative yet, importantly, subjective is perfect. The intros are a well polished cherry on an entertaining cake. Congratulations on seven years! I’ve been watching the channel for years and always enjoy your thoughtful and knowledgeable reviews. While I enjoy the variety of the intros, and the occasional laugh from the Hugo ones - I’m one of the odd people that prefer your more ‘artsy’ intros. As a film buff, I love the nods to old films (such as the Dan Henry 1939/Metropolis, or Seiko/Kurosawa) and the underwater montage scenes of your dive watch intros, such as the old Feb 2017 Omega Seamaster Professional intro. Keep up the variety and good content! Onwards and upwards!
