True story...I was on a youth ministry church trip when I was in middle school & we talked our youth minister into listening to Ministry : Jesus built my hot rod in the church van \m/
Ministry did some killer albums, English band Killing Joke (formed in 1979) are sometimes called grandfathers of industrial metal and influenced Ministry a lot, Paul Raven, Killing Joke´s bass player actually later joined Ministry for few years and played with them on 2-3 albums and toured with them along with his Killing Joke duties until his untimely death in 2007.
In there day these guys absolutely defined a sound and image, this song is one of the most amazing and powerful. At their peak Ministry produced two truly flawless albums which influenced my life and the music genre I love.
Ministry one of those bands that way ahead of their time and shaped so much of what was to come a decade later. I got into metal late 90s with things like manson and other things where that sound, sampling etc were just normal. When you look back at what ministry and some others did 10+ years earlier just amazing few albums around that time. Must have made a lot of people in the metal community think what the hell are they doing mixing these genres together but they paved the way for major bands like nine inch nails and Marilyn Manson to become superstars of rock music. Still going now as well I’ve seen them live twice in the last couple of years and still great shows to go to
Would love to see you doing "Skinny Puppy" a band that heavy influenced Ministry. In some parts Al Jourgensen was part of Skinny Puppy. Start with "Assimilate"
Ministry even did a straight Rap song with an MC who was in the studio at the time when they recorded that album. I was listening to Ministry and Naughty By Nature at the same time.
Ministry rocks man. Check out “N.W.O.”, “Just One Fix” (one of the greatest guitar riffs after the breakdown), “N.O.W.”, “Jesus Built My Hotrod”, “Stigmata”, “Burning Inside”, “Breathe”, so many great tunes. Way ahead of their time. Great review guys
Yes!! Ministry was probably the band I enjoyed live the most. I won't say "best," because I've seen some great shows, but they were absolutely killer live, the crowd was great, & I was just totally feeling it that night. Good times. Lol
That opening riff made many fans lose their shit. The second I put this cd in and hit play I knew I was in love. The cd version is insanely good. You should do So What, it's so good. And you are right, this concert (for this cd) was a freaking insanely good time. They had a two story steel cage at the front of the stage that kept the pit people off the stage (because it was such an agro pit). Some others to check out that are similar are "So What", "NWO", and "Burning Inside".
I had hair removed from my head in the pit at their show. Saw Helmet, Sepultura, and Ministry tour back in 92. I was about as close to pure kinetic energy as I could ever be when I was in a pit. Used to hit Denny's in Issaquah Wa. after most shows we went to in Seattle like that one. I would order an orange juice, apple juice, grapefruit juice, tomato juice, and a water just to recover. I would come out of those shows soaked in sweat
I’ve been a fan of Ministry for years, as well as most metal genres from the late 80’s and 90’s. This mosh pit was the most frightened I’ve ever been. More blood than I’ve ever seen.
For those making comments about Nine Inch Nails here - look for the cover of Black Sabbath's _Supernaut_ by the band "1000 Homo DJs". It was a Ministry side project back in the day. And the original recording featured Trent Reznor on vocals. Hard to find that one - I think it was only released on a Wax Trax Records box set many years after the original vinyl single (with Al Jourgensen on vocals) was released. Fun Fact.
I was actually looking last night to see if you guys had gotten any ministry.. uncle al is still rocking and he still has alot to say and as a fully semi responsible parent and adult ministry still makes me want to riot and getting a black eye at one of there concerts is an acceptable risk and almost wanted ....
Sooooo many people took Uncle Al's look, and bits of the sound too. Pioneers indeed. This was close to exactly reaction when first seeing the video, and the song is for everyone lol

It's a love affair. Mainly Jesus, and my hot rod.
Yeah...fuck it.
True story...I was on a youth ministry church trip when I was in middle school & we talked our youth minister into listening to Ministry : Jesus built my hot rod in the church van \m/
Try Ministry - PSALM 69
Ministry did some killer albums, English band Killing Joke (formed in 1979) are sometimes called grandfathers of industrial metal and influenced Ministry a lot, Paul Raven, Killing Joke´s bass player actually later joined Ministry for few years and played with them on 2-3 albums and toured with them along with his Killing Joke duties until his untimely death in 2007.
Opeth - Demon of the Fall!!
MINISTRY was a big influence to Rammstein in the 80s, if you wanna know that ;)
Uncle AL showing how far you can go while still being cool, and always pushing you past the limit. Oh and they're concerts are scary loud.
First time i heard this song was at the City Club in Detroit, in the early 90's. It was so loud you couldn't hear your own voice....So cool...
Use to dance to their album "Land Of Rape and Honey" in a kick ass bar in Montreal. Love this band.
Discovered your channel today and I love your reactions! I love the two of you already!
Fun fact; Manson's first album was produced by Trent Reznor, who was in Revolting Cocks with Ministry Vocalist Al Jorgensen
Ministry even did a straight Rap song with an MC who was in the studio at the time when they recorded that album. I was listening to Ministry and Naughty By Nature at the same time.
Psalm 69 is a must for you two LoL.
Saw them in Chicago on the flith pig tour. Amazing show the whole place was a mosh pit during this song
Arch Enemy - We Will Rise + Fields of Desolation (LIVE Tyrants of the Rising Sun 2008)
Fun Fact.
Ministry!!! Yes! You should do the whole album of Psalm 69 start to finish.
Haven’t seen Vin’s face light up like that in a while. Thanks for doing this
It was called and considered Industrial Metal
My favorite Ministry song, Burning Inside.
I was actually looking last night to see if you guys had gotten any ministry.. uncle al is still rocking and he still has alot to say and as a fully semi responsible parent and adult ministry still makes me want to riot and getting a black eye at one of there concerts is an acceptable risk and almost wanted ....
Thank you for running the whole song through before providing feedback, 👍
Revocation - Blood Atonement
Obscura - Septuagint
Limbonic Art - A Venomous Kiss Of Profane Grace
Obscura is the dude from Thulcandra's primary band, i think. From Germany.
Limbonic Art is cool.
@@bschuler6216 Exactly : ) Thulcandra is a Sideproject from the Dude of Obscura. Like it a lot, because they sound almost like Dissection.
Sooooo many people took Uncle Al's look, and bits of the sound too. Pioneers indeed.
This was close to exactly reaction when first seeing the video, and the song is for everyone lol
